I think Sutherland and Mitchell should be in that conversation not a given for green. They were expected to win it all moving down.
If that’s your logic then same goes for Mitchell. Lumberton has reaped the benefits of 4A. Scott Barrett should win it over him. Went further, and smoked them in the playoffs.
But, I agree it should be Green.

Well, Barrett did.

What number from lcm got tossed?
Why’s it matter? I know y’all love beating teams when they’re at rock bottom. But you’ve already played LCM twice.

Lmao according to your name you’re 30ish. You depend on 15-17 year olds to make you happy?

I agree with Mr. Tx hoops. 1 Silsbee, 2 Lumberton, 3 West Orange, 4 Vidor. Silsbee has the best athletes. L-Town has best player and great coaching. West Orange has real good athletes. Vidor has higher school numbers. Bc, Ofield, and lcm have some good players but they're behind. Maybe the Bobcats can get another 6'10 transfer to get them to the top.
Spot on with your top 4. I would maybe switch a few around.
1. Lumberton-Mitchell and McClure...what more do you need?
2. Silsbee-It is still Silsbee
3. Vidor-I expect my pirates to get back into the playoffs for the first time in quite awhile. Dropping down from 5A has its benefits, see Lumberton.
4. WOS-Athletes and a new coach who is a proven winner on the female side.
LCM, BC, and Orangefield battling for 5th.

I think most would agree it is mainly about the "Johnny's and Joe's" a little more than the X's and O's. Recruiting is essential at the next level. With all of these rumors of high school coaches recruiting, who are some area coaches that could make it at the next level, as far as being a strong recruiter?

Fannett and Huffman will be battling it out for district ship this year!!!! Both teams will be loaded!!
Don't forget about HJ, they would be my favorite to win that district. Should be some great first round matchups in the playoffs between those 3 teams and the Silsbee/Lumberton district.

I've never seen a Takoa game but if this kid is so highly rated then I bet memorials coaches wish he would play there. Now that I think about it why would any good player go to a tiny school like that?
Wouldn't he have to attend a Port Arthur school? I know many had a problem with some of the new players HF brought in last year, this seems like another one of those cases.

They were fun to watch!!! No doubt about that, Lumberton did beat Fannett twice last year that should hold some weight.
Imagine thinking Lumberton basketball is "fun to watch". You need to get out more.

Then tell the Lumberton coach to quit playing zone and come out and play man defense.
Or learn how to coach against all facets of the games. Everyone knows zone can be a neutralizer when athletes don't match up. Another reason high school basketball needs a shot clock.

I know, right?? I just seen Bridge City and ....well.... And REALLY confused now how they managed to beat Nederland. Lol
You saw one BC game all year and it was at the two time defending state champions place? Great way to judge a team.

That had to have been hard the last few years with Miles as coach.
It was, he still won a national championship and brought us to another with multiple 10+ win seasons and a bowl every year.
Whos your team?

You're trying too hard
Charlie Strong 71% winning percentage at Louisville
Charlie Strong 43% at tu (No winning seasons and only 1 bowl game in 3 years)
Charlie Strong 2-0 at South Florida...best start he's had since Louisville days...sure he started 2-0 his last year at tu, but we all saw how good the Notre Dame win really was. Also, lets not forget he lost to Kansas...in FOOTBALL.
Shaka Smart 74% winning percentage at VCU
Shaka Smart 47% winning percentage at tu...hmmm another coach under the 50% mark at the big bad tu
David Pierce 64% winning percentage at Sam Houston and Tulane
David Pierce 61% winning percentage at tu...alot easier to have a winning record in baseball with all those cupcake mid week games...but can't fake conference games...11-12 in conference play
See a trend yet?
Now, obviously Herman has more than enough time to turn things around, but losing a home opener to the University of Maryland in FOOTBALL? Not a great start.
San Jose State is rolling into town next, Charlie Strong beat them opening week by 20 btw, no pressure longhorn fans.
Lastly, in before the recruiting excuses...look up tu recruiting compared to Maryland the past 5 years...ill wait
