  1. Coach Stan Hodges will be applying. Coach Hodges did a good job making Kountze respectable and then did well at WOS. I do agree with HDBobcat9, Randy Birdwell is a rising star in the Coaching field. I look for him to apply at HD next year.

I guess coach Finney knows when to get out of town.. after his 4 horsemen leave...lol. but yeah I agree Big Bird is a good guy and deserves his chance!!
  2. Dayton should be #1 seed for D2 representing 21-5a, matching up with PNG in the first round (I expect) and win that one handily. In the second round against either Texas City or Marshall (maybe Ridge Point, depending on what Bush has coming back), I expect a close win out of Dayton. In the third round I see them losing to Brenham, who I expect to win the region in D2.

PNG should be #1 seed in D2 playing either Crosby or King
  3. Well, what is it man? You just talked about Aston going down and us losing to the #6 team in the state like losing the district MVP shouldn't hurt. Now you say losing McBride, who doesn't even touch the ball every play, hurt y'all. Running the ball? Dude, did you watch Dayton this year, they couldn't run the ball on anybody so losing him should have been way less of an effect than losing our qb.

But I thought the RB was the better of the two and if SC quit playing teams like South Houston maybe they would've been battle tested...SC reminds me of the Pacers great in regular season but disappear in the playoff!!!
  4. Well, we manned him up last year and all he got was 75 yards, most of which came on one play. He also had 14 carries for 67 yards, I'll take those numbers ALL day from the other team's best player. I didn't say anything about D1 players, the only player we have with a D1 offer right now is our sophomore left tackle. I just think our players have enough athleticism and our coaches have enough sense to cover him.

The weather was horrible that night...on that 98 yard pick 6 did any of that speed from Crosby catch him...I'm marking my calendar Oct 17th
  5. As long as Dayton doesn't switch qbs Crosby will be fine. I think we'll probably man up McBride with Aaron Brown or Wieshampel, Keener will be worn out by halftime the way he was this past year. Barring a couple of bad turnovers I think Crosby will put enough defense on the field to win. I think Dayton had less than 350 total yards last year in our game, the defense will be even better this year so I expect similar total yardage numbers plus the game is at home again. Just going position by position I don't see where Dayton has one advantage IMO.

Brehnam manned up against him also the results 6 catches 250 yards 3 TDs...but I guess with all those D1 players in Crosby they can man up across the field...
  6. Dayton, Angleton or Kingwood Park. We usually have a "what the &%$# game", and maybe get beat a time or two straight up during the season. Teams that can run the ball are usually the ones that seem to give Crosby issues lately. Angleton and Kingwood Park both run the ball and hold it with above average athletes. The Dayton game will be a toss up but I think the Cougs defense will be the best it's been since '09. I think even without the Twins we'll be able to run it at will on Dayton, the Broncos probably won't run it very well, I'm just not sure Crosby can stop the bubble screen and slant the new offensive coordinator is going to call though. IMO it's just going to come down to what type qb play we get. 7-3 with average play, 9-1 with above average play. I really don't think this district is that tough compared to some of the other districts in the Houston metro area.

    Broncos by 3 TDs
  7. Semperfi96 last time I checked playing on Varsity 4 years, being a 3 year starter,3 time All-District First Team selection, All-Region Selection and Honorable Mention All-State makes for a good player. Are we could just ask All-State RB Sedric Broussard who he ran behind almost every play. At the end of the day, while you played the tuba and sang in the choir, I was busy opening holes on the line. Word is you never played a snap of football, but was a pretty good tennis player. If HD's program is so irrelevant, why do all you goons keep reading and following everything about HD? LMAO! SMH! HD NATION!

Broussard was a good RB where did he play college football
  8. I think they did that because I assume they don't want the Baytown schools on the road that late or schools having to play in Baytown...

In Memorial and West Brook's district, don't their district games begin at 7 o'clock vs 7:30?

Wow I guess they ta hell with Livingston having to travel that far...I believe this was the only district that was starting at 7:30..
  9. Southwest Texas State....UTEP....
I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that you're full of crap. Especially since you probably can't name me one person from HD that played D1 anything in your lifetime.

Getting a letter from a college is not the same thing as getting an "offer".

I know a few cats that played D1 football from HD...
  10. I didn't claim to be the best high school player that ever lived. I wasn't in this conversation at all until I got called out by someone who doesn't know me I'm sure and said I was garbage. Someone who probably never even played football. I went to SFA, but had offers from (Southwest) Texas State, New Mexico State, UTEP and several other DII/DIII/NAIA schools. I don't know which "All-State" team really counts, just know that was a couple of the teams I was names to. I was on a 2-8 team my senior year and was 2nd team all-state. I'd trade that in a heartbeat if I could have been part of a playoff run and winning team. It is what it is. I'm getting out of this because I don't think this is the place for all this and it really doesn't mean anything and is ancient history.

Were y'all the first class to lose to West Hardin?
