I think nedwrland is trying to make this a respectable last game and Crosby is doing what nederland did in the first half of the year. Poor play in 1st half then become more of a dominating offense in 2nd half
-
Offense is going to have to score

And on the next punt with the 2 flags, the refs “picked up” the flag on roughing the punter...after the long discussion
If that's true then they should have moved the ball into nederland territory
-
Offense knows they can move the ball. They have costly penalties has kept them from scoring
-
Good thing is nederland has been a second half team. Bad thing is they can't run
-
Refs qere determined to not give nederland that ball on those punts
-
A personal foul during and after the play shouldn't offset. That should have been nederland ball

Couldn't have been, Nederland wasn't ranked #7 at the midway point in the season last year.
Not talking about them ranked 7th but if I remember correctly Crosby and BH were suppose to be the 1 2 punch last year's with png and nederland holding up the 3 and 4 spot. Your right about nederland could end up being the 3rd or 4th spot especially if nederland doesn't clean up their game.

Everybody is always talking about how they want to play in a tough district so that they’re battle tested for the playoffs . . . Until they’re actually in one. Now you have a team ranked 7th in the state at the midway point in the season in danger of finishing in 4th place with a couple losses, which probably includes a first round exit against FBM, or possibly missing the playoffs all together.
Nederland is probably for sure in in at least the three spot but these are possibilities. Kind of have to tip the cap to the district this year. Wouldn’t be surprised to see Dayton ruin someone’s year.
If I'm not mistaken the same thing was said last year too

You are trying to rationalize something but I’m not sure what it is.
Rationalize that Ned is more battle tested than TC. I've seen every week people say either Ned or PNG will not make playoffs due to TC being THAT good. They may be THAT good but hard to say when all the teams are .500 or below

One glaring think on your analysis of playing 500 teams. TC’s was against a 6A and they shut them out. Neds was against a 4A and came from behind to win. TC will be tough, but I think Ned can win this one.
Yes and nederland also came from behind against a PNG team and also beat a former #1 team in 4A not saying it'll be easy as I'm sure TC is a good team but looking at everyone saying Ned will lose because of sloppy play, while that is a very big possibility, I have to look at who TC has played and wonder are they as good as people say they are. For example just looking at the records without seeing who the teams played Crosby looks like they wouldn't be as good as they are, I know dumb example but just go with it, when you look at who they loss too it doesn't look as bad as it seems. Even if they would have 3 losses the 3rd one would have been against a very good BH team. Hope Ned takes the win but wouldn't be surprised if they lose solely on the sloppy play that I have seen
-
After doing some research as I have not seen texas city play. TC has played teams with a combined record of 8-19 while nederland has played teams with a combinrs record of 11-15. TC has played 1 team with a .500 record(clear lake) the rest has a losing record. Nederland has played 1 .500 record team(silsbee) 2 winning record teams(WOS and PNG). As far as battle tested ready Nederland has the advantage. This will be TCs toughest opponent to date. Nederland has play sloppy but find ways to win in 2nd half. With that being said if nederland plays like they did against SF and has multiple extending drive penalties they win lose this one. If they clean up there act and don't commit stupid penalties they will come out on top. I'm not sure how good TC is as I stated above I have never watched them play but comparing the two I'd give the edge to Nederland. But this will be a challenge for Nederland. Let's not forget they were counted out last year after the PNG loss and found a way to be BH and Crosby to take the district or in some people eyes co-district

I think the fumble recovery for a Ned TD turned the tables for Ned.
I'd say it was the first INT that turned the game. After that fumble.png still went down and scored twice. After the first INT nederland didn't look back and defense never gave in

I watched Nederland defense vs Silsbee. They were bad, so this doesn’t surprise me. I also noticed that Nederland’s QB can’t complete many passes. I don’t think Big Ned will make the playoffs this year. Plus Faircloth had a hard time beating Neuman and Barrow has a hard time beating Faircloth. I think Nederland goes 3-4 in district this year. Sorry Bulldog Fans

Nederland Bulldogs have to play a perfect game against Fb Marshall to win but we can do it. running back, wide receivers need to play like they do every game. defense play smash your mouth ball, special-teams covered on sidekicks, no personal fouls, and the kicker don’t leave points on the table that’s what it’s gonna take
I would say they have to play perfect but eliminate stupid penalties yes. They need to keep the receivers in front of them and keep up the great run defense. Offense its mostly the same ground and pound with a little bit of air. from what I noticed FBs defense is perfect for the dogs as they love to run and FB gives up alot in the run....atleast from the playoff games I've seen

Bs flag
I guess you can hit a guy who goes to field a punt

So a personal foul for what exactly?
-
I feel as FB Marshall's offense is perfect for our defense. They like to run alot and we are pretty stout against the run I think. Also it seems as PNG and Montgomery were able to run well against their defense

We hope so but damn Huntsville looks good.,
Oh I know I keep going back and forth. Every now and then checking in the FB game

You got a realistic route to the 4th round. Crosby has to beat a Huntsville team that looks untouchable.
The way Crosby is playing right now I'd say thata going to be the game of the week and I'm not counting Crosby out

I dunno whos better that's lower than them? Crosby's loss to Nederland knocks us out of the ratings...
2 minutes ago, Cougtalk said:TBF if Nederland didn't lose to PNG that district title game would have been 2 State top 25 teams.
Yea its hard to say who would be better. I also think Huntsville is better than FB Marshall but watching this game gives me a better feeling about pine tree but gets me very nervous if we are able to met yall in round 4
-
This is in no way a knock on Crosby because they are a very very good team in all 3 phases of the game but there is no way texas high is the #5 team in this class. Whoever ranked these teams need to think about doing something else

Way that flag came out I thought a face mask was about to be called

So if there happens to be a 3 way tie BH-Ned-PNG. Who ends up being 3 and 4? I think nederland is rooting for BH to win
