That's the key, if mother got a job to better the family , basketball is probably the last thing on their minds, as well as it shouldn't be. It should always come down to what's best for you and your family, sports should be the last thing too way into this decision. 

Can't image any reason a kid would WANT to leave his team just before his senior year. Maybe its not the kid, maybe the parent is being transferred?? Season starts in two weeks. I couldn't imagine transferring to a new school (especially one out of this area) and joining a new team and expect good things to happen. He either:
1. gets there and the team is really good (and he plays a small role).
2.The team is really bad; therefore, no and not a positive experience
3. The team is average, he takes someone's spot on the team and his new teammates don't like him while he has a miserable Senior year
Adjusting to a new school and kids is hard enough during the middle of one's senior year. I couldn't imagine trying to join a new team as well. There will be many obstacles regardless of 1-3 above.
IF he has the option to stay in Nederland, why abandon your TEAM that you've played with for 3 years?? If it's opportunity/scholly reasons, go out, have an outstanding senior year, make some noise, and get noticed.  He could still have a tremendous senior year and get an offer or two. It's not too late. These kids have ALL played in multiple tourney's in Houston and some have played in Vegas and New Orleans. Plenty of exposure and opportunities to get noticed. Not sure how a change in scenery is going to change that. If anything, it would be more difficult to get noticed.  Moving to Cali or NY isn't going to change that, PERIOD!  No reason this TEAM couldn't go 2, 3, 4 rounds deep this year like we did 2 years ago and get even more exposure.
I would assume a kid like Jordan Hunter or Toe-Toe could have gone to a prep school for his senior year. They chose to stay, and they both made memories that they will never forget. Hunter ended up playing on the big stage in Austin for the Ship. Hard to compete with memories like that. Though it was many moons ago, my HS buddies and I still talk about our senior year of ball.

That's where I think most scouts make there mistakes in recruiting kids. They look at there 40 time and size, when they should be looking at how a kid performs on the field.  Krautz want blow you away with his 40, it's probably 4.58 or 4.6 but can flat out play the game. I personally would pick him up as a slot receiver. JMO...

I can't disagree with you but they do make mistakes. For example the kid from Nederland that went to UT. I think his last name was Johnson. He had the size and speed but didn't workout, Tony Brown is another that comes to mind. The kid was top ranked just based on his 40 speed but the kid can't tackle. I'm sure there is several more that fall under that same situation.  It has to be a tough job to be a recruit but when the ones that don't workout they can look at there coach and say he ran a 4.4 and has size. Perhaps that's what keeps there jobs. 

I think Emmit Smith was around a 4.6 and a little small. Seemed to work out alright for him to. Also how fast is a kid in pads as opposed to a tshiirt and shorts. Krautz is a baller period.

By the way on that 73 yrs TD run, yes he out ran Centrals linebacker, then the DB that had the angle from the weak side. If we had a draft and I had first pick of anyone in the district.   He's my first pick, just saying. 

The backside pursuit CB was in the EXACT position he was supposed to be, he simply did not have the speed to run Krautz down.  I put this comment in the same category as the one where you said Central played with three D Lineman in the second half... wish we could have some replay of the game.

Nederland battled with Sam Houston until the last few minutes. It was a 6 point difference for most of the game then it got to 10 and Nederland started fouling. Nederland had way to many turnovers, once they clean that up they will be tough for any team. 

That is 100% true, but will most likely be ineligible for varsity this year. He is a junior. They also have a 6ft 5" transfer they came over with him. They will have one heck of a JV team.

I think Nederland does a pretty good job of sharing the love on offense but don't get me wrong, Krautz would be my first option all day every day.  I am curious to one thing though! Why don't we utilize #13 more on offense?  I watched some preseason games and was impressed with him. Very fast and good running instinct. 

And English being on the bench will make a pretty big difference too

Strong field of teams in this tournament, i see we have some local teams in it! Central, Ozen and Nederland. Good Luck!

yes they do.. I watched both...biggest thing is they play for each other and communicate very well

Nederland and HJ play great team defense too. Very disciplined. Anyone who thinks Central and Silsbee have a lock on their districts may be surprised. 

This district is wide open.  I think any team can beat one another on any given night, accept Lee. So hold on to your hats Setx it could be one wild ride!

Also it not about basketball, there in a much better situation now.
