To answer everyone's questions, I was in Canada when the hurricane hit. Flight got cancelled and had to drive back from 230 miles north of Toronto.  Like everyone, I came home to flooding and a refinery which had been shut down badly. Lots of hours to go around. I'm back now but don't intend on putting as much on the board this year. Too much going on at home.

I thought we just played solid football...way better than what I thought we would given the disarray the team was in two weeks ago after Harvey.  Jeff Mathews again showed his coaching prowess by getting a team who hadn't played a game yet ready to go. We looked pretty sharp tonight. Stogner was a big standout tonight. Fawcett was good at QB and the beast mode Ciccio Bros. really stood out on defense

Basketball season is rarely fun in Vidor my friend.

Beat the undefeated, #11 state ranked, biggest school in our district. For a share of the district championship for the first time since 1978. Gave our purple friends a share also, hell yea it was a big win. Beats the W at Nederland for the first time in 35 years we had earlier in the year. If we only took care of business in the second half at PNG, oh what could have been. Still, hell of a good season for the Pirates and it continues.

I didn't think Vidor could do it... But i underestimated those kids.... Congrats on a DC... You guys Definately earned it.... Now go kick some ass in the playoffs..........

This one is over, good game by the pirates. Hard to win when you fumble so much and lose onside kicks. I prefer them getting hit in the mouth and being humbled this week vs having it done in the playoffs.

PAM stopped on 4th down with couple minutes left.  PAM has no time outs.  That's ballgame folks.  The mighty Philistine is being carried off of the battlefield as we speak. 

Sorry to butt into your thread but the state and regional scoreboards are all jacked up. They show Vidor up at halftime 21-0.

I was thinking maybe they wanna press reset in this game and start over...  Like the old Nintendo when you die on the first gumba on the first level...

First of all Vidor your fans helped us to a sell out game. Signs were hung over the doors game was sold out. Hats off to you the only other team besides Nederland to fill it in the recent past. Again this was a sold out game at capacity 13,500 fans there tonight. Great atmoshphere for a friday night game...Secondly the Vidor band was on point as usual. Always enjoy the band. Lastly you guys are class acts. Cheering for the US military man who donated the flag he fought under overseas. Thanks for honoring this alumni who fought and served for our country. Thanks for making it a great night of football

21-0 in the second half, Landsharks figured out how to play. Looked like they were doing a much better job of containing the edges. Time to head back to the woods and drink a few cold ones. See ya next year Purps.
