  1. I don't see PNG losing to Vidor or Central.  I take PNG over Dayton, gonna be a tight game, but feel PNG will come away with the win.  Right now, we're focusing on Vidor, one game at a time.  We will deal with Central and Dayton when the time comes.

For a this three way tie scenario to occur, PN-G would have to lose two more games.

It is possible, but not probable.

  2. I feel PNG is not getting over anxious.  MB has them focused on one game at a time.  I know a lot of folks think Vidor an easy win, but you can bet that PNG is NOT taking them lightly.  One thing I know about this team, is that they work together, believe in themselves, and know that each week is a test.  This keeps them humbled, and able to go out there, play their hearts out, and come away with the wins.  Honor, Pride, Tradition...that sums it up for the PNG Indians!  Keep it up guys, we're all behind you!

  3. Good game PNG. Great game to watch. Appreciate  you being gracious winners. Good luck the rest of the season.

But I think the best part of the game was the Indianettes and their

    moms!!  ;D

I don't know if it was the best part, but my wife and daughter sure looked good out there!

  4. Instead of answering 100 PM'S I will tell you what I thought here. Neither team came out and did what we all thought or expected them to do. Both teams came out and threw the ball more than most expected. png caught our safetys looking in the back field twice and took advantage of them that led to  2 scores which turned out to be the dif. Neither team really ran the ball with any consistancy  when they needed that 1st down most of the time they went to the air. png's passing game was better than they were in any of the other games. Hemmings was just as I expected Good Strong Powerful, No I still dont think of him as fast, but very powerful. I think the refs did a good job (even though some of my other Raider fans did not) I thought it was done totally Bias. Did not see any real unsportsman like behavior, saw the one png player try to jaw at BEARD after Beard took his head off, but refs sent them on their way Beard went back to hudddle and png player went to sideline to see the Trainer. Hanna had one of the biggest runs for the L-Train for a score. Hemmings had a very hard run where he carried a few

L-Town players with him for a first. All in all it was a great game Momentum went back and forth.

I TAKE MY HAT OFF AND BOW TO THE png PLAYERS AND COACHES THEY WERE THE BETTER TEAM TONIGHT GOOD LUCK WITH THE REST OF YOUR GAMES.

Good post, Mav.......I don't care what other posters may say, you really do have class!   Looked for you at the game....waaaayyyyyy too many Blue shirts!  Have to give it to your fans....they love their Raiders and deservedly so!  As my wife and I were walking out.....many, and I say many, Raider fans gave congrats to PNG......Lumberton fans have a lot of class.  Best of luck to the Raiders the rest of the season!  You will represent our district well in 22-4a.  Man, what a game!  Take Care!

  5. It has been a great week of Trash Talking Thanks for all the fun. I would like to wish yall a good night with no injuries on either side. Good Luck png

    Roll on big L-TRAIN!!!!

hey, thanks, mav.  has been a lot of fun this week with the "trash talk".  you guys have a great team over there and something to be proud of.....good luck for the rest of the season.  hey, I'll be the guy wearing "purple" at the game....lol!  take care!

    Scalp 'em, NDN's!

  6. The key word here, is "neutral".  Sorry, I can't support a sportswriter who uses negative adjectives to describe a young football player.  If anything, state the positives...no matter if they are from PNG, Ned, Lumberton, or wherever.  The kids, parents, fans, etc. read the newspaper and the way he discredits PNG is going over the line in my book.  Stating stats and such...ok, but don't discredit the kids....they don't deserve it.  As far as earning his respect.....it should be the other way around.....he has to earn OUR respect.  Just my 2 cents.

  7. turning down Lamar was not for advantage but tradition......(repeat....repeat......repeat.....)

you can stop preaching to me about Ned vs PN-G.......i was born here.......it's not the fact that both TEAMS wanted the game at home every year......that's just how it's done here.....you don't mess with grand-parents who have been going to these games longer then they've been married..........It's what it is and that's it......it's more than home field, moving the game would lessen the value of the game between the two TOWNS............both cities could care less that we beat the other at your place......the fact thay we beat you is good enough.......lol

both schools have handily beaten the other over the cource of history recent and not so recent........

win a couple more hundred games and you'll get what i'm saying........lol

really.....good luck to Lumberton Friday........should be a great game and when PN-G wins it won't be solely because of where it was played.......JMO!!

Nice post!  Couldn't have said it better myself!  Scalp 'em, NDN's!

  8. I have been struggling with why the Ned fans are unanimously picking their arch rival PNG.  Duh! I finally figured it out.  Sorry I was so slow.  If Lumberton comes in to the Reservation and beats PNG, it doesn't bode well for the week 10 game in Lumberton on Ned's schedule.  The L'Train isn't going to get any love from Mid County the rest of the way out.

You crack me UP!  Unless you live in Mid County, then you cannot begin to understand PNG and Nederland.  Yeah, the one week out of the year, MCM, we are rivals...thats true.  Its a long tradition of 84 years, one of the loooongest high school rivalries in Texas.  However, after that game, Nederland and PNG fans bond together, to lend support for the other.  I think because of this, thats why so many other teams in our district hate the MidCounty teams.  Its not pressing on Ned's mind about the last week of play, they will come out with the win against Lumberton anyway.  The reason L'Train isnt getting any love or respect from MidCounty is because of the way you bash us, added to the fact that you have to earn it....which I doubt, very seriously, will happen this year.  As for the guys on your team, I wish them the best, and an injury free game tomorrow night.

    Go Indians!  Go Bulldogs!

hey "Little tommy", I remember you stating that Dravanniti Johnson could give a "flying Indian"about playing PNG, I wonder what he thought when those "flying INDIANS" jammed him for a loss on 4th and 2 when they needed a score in the 4th quarter?!  Will you EVER come out and defend some of your ridiculous analagies?

    Good Point!

  10. The Breakout Player of the Week

(Player most likely to have a big night)

    Lumberton's (6-0, 3-0 in 22-4A) defense against Port Neches-Groves (4-2, 3-0)

Admit it, when you look at a team's statistics, your eyes go directly to the offense. But if PNG overlooks the Lumberton defense, it will be a long night. Give a lot of credit to the defense for Lumberton's uprising this season. Until the last two weeks, Lumberton hadn't allowed more than seven points in a game. Even in those last two games, Lumberton has surrendered just two TDs each time. The Raiders' defense will need that kind of effort to pull out a win at one in one of the toughest road environments in the state, especially after PNG's best offensive night of the year, a 28-16 win against heated rival Nederland.

Padilla Poll says: PNG by 5

Jerry's TXFB Ratings says: PNG by 4

    TexasFootball.com says: PNG 10, Lumberton 7

    Scalp 'em, NDN's!

  11. hmmmm.....seems to me like the Lumberton fans are feeling some intimidation in response to this poll, otherwise, there wouldn't be these responses you are posting to the thread.  Regardless if Hemmings is fast, slow, or whatever.....he will get the job done Friday night against Lumberton!  I don't think your D line will be able to stop him.....he breaks tackle, after tackle....and once he gets free, he kicks it up a couple of notches and he owns the endzone. I do admire and respect Lumberton, don't get me wrong...but now, you are playing a seasoned team with a coaching staff that has been under this pressure before.  I honestly feel the team with the least turnovers/mistakes will win.....the pressure at the Reservation for Lumberton will be a little to much.  PNG will come away with the win.  PNG 28  Lumberton 20
