C'mon Raiders, lets go!

We all know that stats, computer projections, etc. don't mean squat on any given Friday night in high school football! The team that wants it the most, has the most heart and can capitalize on errors will win! Man, lets pull together for our district teams in the playoffs instead of trying to continue to rip each other apart....we're ALL on one team now.....!

Chickens don't like to run when they get wet, they tend to hover in a corner under a shed when its wet and raining.....LOL ! I feel good about this game....as someone said, the weather is an equalizer, not that PNG would need it anyway. I feel our Defense will wear Rodgers down. Had a friend that went to the Dickinson game, he said they basically don't have a balanced offense, mainly run, and their defense isn't that strong, and should not be able to stop Hemmings. If PNG comes out and plays LC the way they did GP, we should come away with the win, easily. Will be a good game, but have a gut feeling, PNG will come out with the Win and there'll be a lot of crow eating come Sunday morning. Matt Burnett has been in this playoff position before where just about everyone had counted PNG out and PNG went out, played their hearts heart, brought the upset and earned the respect, and came away with the win. Scalp 'em, Indians, Scalp 'em! Scalp 'em, NDN's!

I think it is going to be tough to make predictions this week. Seems like in the second round there are always upsets as well as surprises. Best of Luck to all the teams!

Pretty cool computer. I agree, I bet it didn't take into account that Indian Pride and ALL those PNG fans that will be showing up. I watched couple of the game films of LC, feel like our "D" will stop Rodgers and looking at the films, looks like LC has a problem stopping the run. We will definitely have to have our "A" game there, but have been in this situation many times before in the playoffs and have prevailed. Whatever the outcome, you can bet that the winner will have earned it! PNG 21 LC 17

I disagree. I think this year has given Lumberton a lot of momentum and motivation for the future. Credeur has worked hard, knows what it takes to get a team to the playoffs, added to this, I have NEVER seen the outpouring of fans like I have this year with the Lumberton fans. I know a lot of folks don't take that much stock in fans, but I do. PNG has a HUGE fan base and yes, they are instrumental in getting the Indians pumped and ready for each game. I see Lumberton fans the same way....they love their Raiders and will be ther for them. I honestly think this year is a turning point for the Raiders.....they'll be back again next year! Go Raiders ! Scalp 'em Indians!

I agree, almost EVERY week PNG has been the underdog and posters are always counting the Indians out, but yet, we prevail. I know our Defense is solid and you can bet that Burnett will have them in top notch form this week to shut Rodgers down. I feel that if we get our running game clickin, keep our offense on the field to eat up the clock and then let our "D" do the superb job they've been doing, PNG will come away with the win. Not underestimating Rodgers at all, but he can be beat and PNG is the team to do it. Anything can and WILL happen on any given Friday night in high school football, especially in the playoffs! Scalp 'em, Indians! BTW, I think it IS suppose to rain or at least be wet this weekend

Going this morning to buy my tickets for the PNG/LC game Saturday. Been reading and see that Lumberton/LaMarque playing same day, same stadium. Maybe I missed it, but I can't seem to nail down the game times for each game. Does anyone know? I would like to make it to both games. It seems PNG has the late game and Lumberton has the early, I could be wrong. I've read PNG starts at 6, then another post says 7, also saw a post that says Lumberton starts at 6. Any info would be a lot of help. Thanks.

One game or one winning season does not make a rivalry. I agree, it takes years. I mean, look at PNG/Nederland, just finished their 87th year...now THATS A RIVALRY! I do think, from reading the posts, that there is a lot of 'heat' between Lumberton/Dayton, but far from a rivalry as yet. I believe, like someone else has stated, that next year, the Lumberton/Dayton game will definitely be a war!

I grew up in Newton, and I don't think its genes is all that makes a great team. At Newton, you have Curtis Barbay, a proven successful coach with a winning tradition. I think people are attracted to schools with winning traditions so their kids will be part of the program. There are families there, but not everyone of them are good in sports, etc. Now, transplanted to PNG, with Matt Burnnett, I see a lot of kids caught up in the tradition of the programs. I really think the coaching staff, fan support, etc.....has a lot to do with it. Genes, maybe, but not totally. Go Eagles ! Scalp 'em, NDN's!

Seems like a lot of people were talking about McGaffie and how dominating he was.....PNG shut him down tonight....I mean, he had some quick moves and couple of runs, but overall, PNG was all over him. I heard from a friend that went to the LC/Dickinson game tonite and said the LC running back was the real deal, but felt PNG could shut him down, we would just need to go down and score quick. I know nothing about LC....anyone got info on them?

I like what maverick said.....it's time to pull together for the Indians, Raiders, and Broncos. No longer are we individual teams, now we are one BIG team.....team 22-4A! Ok guys from PNG, Lumberton, and Dayton....get out there and demonstrate what high school football is really all about!
