  1. First time I've had a chance to get online since last week. Cleveland flat whipped NC all over the field. Both sides of the ball. Yes the defense was on the field a long time but they couldn't stop Cleveland at all. The secondary got burned numerous times. Not going to point out any individual players but one of the safeties was terrible. I agree completely that NC has to get out of the spread. With the athletes they have their strength would be in the line. They need to try to play ball control and eat up as much clock as they can. Personally I didn't like the way Taylor ran the athletic program as the AD, but he was okay as a football coach. Coley had a good program and yes Dunn helped alot but he was able to adapt to his players strengths. Roberts doesn't seem to have control of the team, looks to me like the coordinators make all of the in game decisions.

  2. I have been to a half dozen or so games at Abe Martin stadium in the last few years. The home side is impossible to sit in, their season tickets sales are crazy. The visitors side always has had a large number of Lufkin supporters sit in it. For the most part they are civilized and cheer their team on, but I have witnessed some things get out of control. I was there a couple of years ago when the Woodlands was there. Their was some Lufkin supporters who were there for nothing but trouble. I didn't care who won, was just enjoying a high school football game but was very uncomfortable with what was starting to go on around me. I left my seat before the game was over. Their was not enough security in the stands. The police who were there were all talking together under the visitors stands.

  3. The coach in question has been in softball for a VERY long time and knew the rules. He also had a disagreement with me about a dropped 3rd strike ruling because he and his assistants did not know how the rule were written. I know he knows the rule but seemed to act as though he didn't. His explaination on the extra girls was that he was not going to use them unless he needed them. When he turned in his lineup and they were listed then he BROKE the rules. What is a real shame is the girls he has are very good. He shouldn't need to pull this kind of stuff.

Maybe he talked with MC Elite coach.   ;D

;D ;D That is the first thing I thought of too.

Maybe this should be a topic for a new post, but I'll ask it here anyway...Are there different levels of cheating or is breaking the rules breaking the rules?

Which MC Elite team are ya'll talking about? From Willis or Magnolia?

MC Elite team with the coach that has initials of GS

Ok thanks, I have no idea who that is but it's not either of the teams I was asking about so it doesn't matter.

  5. Best Team - Lufkin 2001 I believe (Reggies senior year)

Best Game - LaMarque and C.E. King I Think it was 97 Great game won by LaMarque 7-0

Best Player - Michael Mosely Humble 76-77

I would put Chip Ambres and Adam Dunn close behind him.

I watched Todd Dodge play in the dome in 80-81 They threw it all over the field.

These are all players, Games, and teams I actually saw.

  6. I also saw the Dickey kid play last year and the year before. He is a really good player. D1, Don't know yet, but he does have good football people in his family, this usually translates to a smarter than average quarterback. I can tell you he is quick and is really strong. Wish him the best of luck. You Hardin folks are in for a treat with his grandparents. They will be at all of his games. They are good people.

  7. So MC if we can't post the gibberish on your post we'll post it here.

The young lady from your Shockers Gold team (Treadway) just missed hitting her second one in the same game. It hit the bottom of the fence. It was a nice shot. Enjoyed speaking with Big Cat and Trout for a few minutes between games. Good luck to you guys, hope you get all your players seen and signed.

  8. Was not much of a game but PNG took care of business tonight. Lighting Eagle, StrosBros and JDawg good hanging out with you guys. I thought LCM could the ball PNG is not bad either and have some big kids. Harrington had a nasty bender working tonight. SevenLakes has a good young team and will be strong next year.

Good talking with you too. The PNG kid Harrington threw a very good game. I agree with you about 7lakes for next year. Their sophmore catcher was solid.

  9. I'm assuming it's along Forest Colony Rd. on the west side of 59.

I've been trying to contact the school district so Channel 6 can cover this series and the other series at the stadium this week.

If anyone knows for sure, let me know. NCISD is not responding very well, and nobody at the high school knows what the address is at this point.

If you are traveling from the Beaumont area.....I-10 west, to Beltway 8, take a right onto Beltway 8 heading North. Beltway 8 will lead you due North for awhile and then will have a 90 degree bend to the West. At this point you will pass Fall Creek neighborhood, Wilson Road, etc. At this point stay in the right lanes( As you near 59, left lanes will keep you on Beltway 8, right will lead you to 59). Take right onto 59 North. Travel North past 1960 and Kingwood. Exit Community Drive and go back over 59. Head south on feeder. You will see the facility on the right about a mile down.   Also there are some signs showing the way to the stadium. Don Ford stadium. It is on the West side of 59.

Eagle07 has it right. Their is road construction on both the highway and feeder. The sign for Community Drive is small and orange. Whoever posted something about Forest Colony drive needs to know it is the driveway into the school just before Forest Colony and just past Valley Ranch. It is located at the 6th grade campus 22784 Hwy 59 south.
