  1. I sure hate to hear that, so pretty reliable source you heard from?
  2. Herbert Gums is the one that is hurt and would’ve complemented the run game well but Diboll hasn’t missed a beat with McMillan.
  3. Diboll defeated Cleveland 42-0 last night and Liberty beat Livingston 55-0. Common opponent is Cleveland which Liberty beat 7-0 week 2. I believe AggiesAreWe picked this game to attend
  4. Diboll moves to 2-0 after defeating Huntington 55-0. Cleveland dropped a close one to Liberty 7-0. Cleveland’s had some good teams years ago but not sure how they’ve been in the last few.
  5. I agree that Diboll had their way in the trenches. The physicality from last season remain with room for improvement still though. What might’ve been missed by some of the Cardinal fans was that Dibolls best player went out with an injury very early in the game, maybe Dibolls 2nd possession. He is such an impact player and hated to see him go out. Hope it’s nothing serious. I saw him go back in for one more play where he ran the ball to convert on 3rd down, but you could tell he was in pain. Thinking he should sit out next game to get as healthy as possible. Back to the game, BC offense couldn’t get much going, and I think it had lot to do with Dibolls D line controlling the line of scrimmage. I get that BC learning with new coach but Diboll really affected that part of the game.
  6. I sure hope that’s true, the offensive line lost a few to graduation but had some good guys coming in to fill those holes. It all start with the line!
  7. So here we go, Diboll home opener will be vs the Bridge City Cardinals. I don’t know much about the Cardinals, any fans willing to provide some input? Diboll comes in with high expectations this season after a disappointing first round loss to Gilmer last year. They dropped down to 3A this season. They bring back a good core group of players and most notably their D-1 recruit, RB/LB/DE Herbert Gums. Diboll will feature a new QB that appears to have put in some good work this summer. Diboll will rely on the run much like last season but seems eager to develop a much needed passing game. They have some new faces at the WR position and oline. Overall, the ‘Jacks should be solid and should have some depth this season.
  8. Anyone go to the scrimmage? How did both teams look?
  9. Haven’t heard much on Diboll wide outs, any stand outs there? What about a replacement for LB Monroy from last season? How is the defense going to look?
  10. Glad we have him for a couple more years. The move down to 3a will be interesting. He will play a huge role next year. He shared the ball last year but with the feature back lost to graduation, it will be interesting to see what coach decides to do with him. Let him play both ways again? Personally, I see his future on the defensive side of the ball. He's just a sophomore and already 6'2. Watch out for Diboll. Got another RB that played well last year.
  11. Just wanted to report on Diboll's RB Ty Hamilton. So far has 18 rushing TD. 1245 yards rushing on 151 carries. All from Lufkin Daily News. Not sure of any receiving yards and TDs.
  12. Do you have the complete game stats? Both teams
  13. I don't think Diboll will have over 300 yards rushing either but I feel like their line will open up enough lanes to break the century mark easily. Not a pass heavy time but the ground attack should be interesting to watch against a good newton D. Closer than ppl think
  14. Good luck to the Tigers! Maybe a rematch down the road!
  15. After spending the first few weeks of the season pulling out thrillers and squeakers, the Diboll Lumberjacks have put together back-to-back wins in dominant fashion. Friday night, the 'Jacks made short work of an old foe, knocking off Jasper 31-14 in the district opener for both teams. Diboll capitalized on contributions from a little bit of everyone wearing red and black: Quarterback Jacolby Spencer tossed a pair of scoring passes, a 35-yarder to William Tudmon and a 15-yarder to big Antonio Johnson; Kendal Jackson followed his line for 105 yards and a score on 22 carries; Adrian Vasquez blocked and recovered a Jasper punt for yet another Diboll TD; and Alex Castillo booted a 31-yard field goal. In all, the Lumberjacks rolled up more than 400 yards of total offense, with Spencer completing 15 of 26 passing attempts for 239 yards and the two scores. During one second-quarter streak, the senior QB connected on seven straight passes, allowing the 'Jacks to put together a beauty of a 91-yard drive that consumed more than five minutes. Jasper's Ben Armstrong scored both the 'Dogs' touchdowns on runs of 22 and 23 yards. Armstrong would have notched a third score, a scintillating 28-yard fourth-quarter jaunt; but the Bulldogs were flagged for holding on the play, negating the run. Bulldog receiver Kwame' Spikes caught six balls for 98 yards, but quarterback Dominique Bailey struggled to hit receivers all night, completing just 10 of his 27 attempts, and with most of those coming too late in the game to help. Jasper got off to a quick start, scoring on its first possession with the aid of a Bailey 74-yard run. That set up Armstrong's first score, a 22-yarder at the 8:18 mark. Diboll took exactly two minutes to answer, with Spencer hitting Tudmon on a crossing route from 35 yards out to tie the game at 7-7. The 'Jacks took their first lead midway through the second quarter, with Johnson taking a pass in the flat and breaking tackles on his way to a 15-yard score. Later in the same period, following a pin-'em-down punt from Jasper's Alex Guadian that left the Lumberjacks on their own nine-yard line, Diboll moved 91 yards in 15 plays, capped by Jackson's three-yard plunge with just 29 ticks remaining in the half to go up 21-7. Diboll extended the lead with just under 10 minutes left in the third quarter. Standing in his own end zone, punter Guadian couldn't handle a high snap and attempted to kick his way out of trouble. Vasquez blocked the kick and was credited with the touchdown recovery, putting the game out of reach for the Bulldogs. Castillo's 31-yard boot iced the 'Jacks' fourth straight win. The Lumberjacks will host Center Friday and will honor new members of the Diboll Wall of Honor. The late Gary Willmon of The Lufkin Daily News will be one of the honorees. Game time is 7:30 p.m.
  16. I remember a few Jasper penalties. Offsides on defense, on a 3rd down for Diboll. Late hit out of bounds, holding on the would-be 3rd rushing TD for Armstrong, and followed with dead ball penalty by Jasper lineman for running his mouth to ref. Had penalty on Kickoff for ball going out of bounds.
  17. I don't have the stats yet, waiting for lufkin daily news to post write up. Diboll had 4 penalties, official stat. One was a holding call. had defensive off sides, and don't know other 2.
  18. Wasn't as close as I expected it to be. Diboll shut Jasper out in the 2nd half, and played bend but not break Defense. I wonder why Jasper didn't stick with Armstrong running the rock, he was effective, more than Jasper's mediocre passing game. Overall, I think Diboll kept the same intensity from last week's game against Nac. Great win for the Jacks, I don't think Diboll has ever beaten Jasper before.
