I thought Tarkington won 3 games last year. Either way they were much improved and should be even better for the 2013 season. Players to watch from Hardin are as follows-
Safety-Taylor Thompson
MLB-Zane Drake
WR-Chris Dumas
HB-Ta'Roy Dellahoussaye
OL-Cory Mettlen
My sons goes to Hardin and is friend with many of the HD players. He reads these posts all the time and he said he is glad that the players don't talk as much crap as HDBobcat55. -
Hardin Hornets

Also, keep an eye on Justin Johnson and Austin Walker. -
usedtobe-Honestly I can't answer for ALL of the kids but I personally know of several that have improved tremendously. One of the lineman has increased his bench press by 40 lbs and has improved his squat 100 lbs. One of the running backs has improved to a 4.5 forty from a 4.62 forty. A sophomore to be lineman can now squat 600 lbs vs about 475 at the end of football season. I hope this satisfies your curiousity. I never said anyone would be content at 4-6. My comment was that they would be much improved. 4-6 compared to 1=9 is much improved. I was simply giving my opinion on how I think Hardin will finish in 2013 and it's exactly that-an opinion.

Hardin will when at least two non-district games and at least two district games next season. They will be much improved in all areas. Solid leadership makes a huge difference. They have a coach that is inspiring these kids to believe in themselves. All of the kids are much stronger and faster than last season and this will be evident in the games.

Not quite sure why hd bobkitten55 thinks Hardin fans are content with being average or below average. He hasn't talked to the same fans I've talked to. Hardin will be much improved next year. They actually have an offseason program and tremendous strides have been made.

Get in an actual offseason program and go gettem next year guys. Coach Fortune's comments to a sophomore player after the game-Let's go to work!
-
Newton by at least 30. They will probably rest some guys but no doubt want to finish 10 and 0.
-
Kountze by 8 points. Not so sure about Warren beating Kirbyville but certainly not out of the question.

hardin01, I personally believe that you are hearing stuff from a school board member meaning you are most likely hearing from one person. I along with mfd814 am at all the games. Please come and show your support Friday night in Winnie if possible. I will be on the top row on the 50 yard line. Hope to see you there.

Newton played a heck of a game. Too much speed for Hardin to handle. Hornets, get in the weight room and do what you need to do to get to the next level. It probably didn't get noticed, but several Hornets played pretty well last night. Keep working and your efforts will be rewarded.

Congratulations to the Warriors. mfd814 said it all. Hard work, never give up and belief in the system pays off. I think some folks in Hardin need to take all this into consideration.
-
I second that NewtonNation
-
Hard to say this but I agree with hardin01

This will be Collins last time against Newton as he is a senior. Mettlen is just a sophomore and is working hard everyday to get better. He plans on living in the weight room after football season. Good luck to both teams and let us all pray that it will be an injury free game.

You're a funny guy QueenJames123. Personally, I think that if you work with a 15 year old that is 6'6" and weighs 320lbs, and help him get where he wants to be, the possibilities are endless. You are from Kountze right? You should know the Bible verse Phillipians 4:13

Please read the post again. No where does it say that UT was interested. The statement was made that if certain players were to get quicker and stronger that there college would be paid for.

Tough loss for Hardin. While they do need all around improvement, giving up 3rd and long and 4th and long has hurt them all year. Several players, mine included, are excited about the upcoming off season program. Hardin has lacked in this area for the past 5 years at least. Fortune-ately, that is about to change. Major Applewhite already has his eye on a couple of sophomores but has told the AD they need to work on quickness and strength. We shall see how the off season goes.

It should be a good game. I'm going with Hardin 30-22.
-
Who you got?
-
Ease up on 55. lol. He's just a hard core Bobkitten fan and most spectators think they can do a better job than the coach. Gotta admire him for being the fan that he is.
-
No problem ECBucFan. I have relatives in Winnie so I always root for them when they're not playing Hardin.
-
I believe bushpilot was talking about previous game predictions such as Kountze and Anahuac. Go back and look at the predictions.

Hardin is prepared for Friday night. Good luck to both teams.
