especially if this team of scrubs we're fielding for the Gold Cup next month can produce a good result...

you should! this is pretty close for US soccer to what the US hockey team did to Russia back in the day... DO YOU BELIEVE IN MIRACLES? if we were to play brazil in the final and beat them then i'd couple that to the miracle on ice being that brazil beat us 3-0 the other day....however, spain is the best team in the world, but today we were better...wow, just wow! the only reason i say that is because this spain team easily ranks among the best teams in history. they had just set the international record for consecutive wins (15), and i believe they had gone 38 games without being defeated. this was their first loss since 2006!

none needed, considering how overrated, undertalented and boring UT was this year... i'm pretty pleased with their performance, especially seeing as they were one out away from sweeping the "unbeatable" LSU tigers. great season for both teams, and great showing by both. hopefully we'll get the chance to talk it up on here again next year. -
yeah it was... three cheap reds in four games, but this one will hurt the most. on a positive, it was the first one we got late enough in a game that it didn't effect our play, but on a bad note, this is the first one we've received against a player that we will be unable to replace during the next game.

Hey Bon, can Bradley talk now, or does the red card exclude his opinion? -

baseball is by far my least favorite of the major college sports. i still enjoy it, and i'll always pull for my horns, but i'm not skipping my first game of the season for this. if it were basketball or football... of course! -
there are a lot of parents out there that push their kids harder than the coaches do. before we place the blame on the coach, we need to at least consider the possibility that the parents pushed her to play, and possibly pressured the coach to put her back on the field as well.

great start, though! -
if his score is 4 or 5 strokes better than almost everyone else during the last round, i'd say he made his move. if conditions are tough enough, a string of pars is often good enough to move up the leaderboard.

i hate it when we field teams with a bunch of players that have no business touching the field (and no, i'm not talking about Davy)

i think they'll have quite a few pitchers available... they had a lot of guys go, but most of them didn't face many batters. -

a shame Texas doesn't know how to hit the longball. if they did, they'd have 10 by now, instead of just 5 -

i just got home, and i couldn't help but notice that the longhorns are winning... they're so lucky! -
great tournament... Tiger is clearly the best in the world. He putts poorly, is something like 14 back at one point in the second round, and finishes the tourney in the top-10. i bet he'd give himself a C- for his tourney, and he made the top-10. most players C- game would've sent them packing after round two. If Tiger had been in the afternoon flight for the first two rounds, he would've probably cakewalked to a victory. still, he had his chances and missed on some of them. Aside from all the tiger talk, great win for Glover, and a fantastic tournament for Duval. He wasn't kiidding about finding his swing!

that could be because your average joe in the usa has some experience with basketball and played a little when younger while the same guy probably never played or thought about playing soccer...if you go give a bunch of brazilian kids a basketball they are gonna drop it on the ground and kick it around....the brazilian average joe would prolly be much better off kicking it around than shooting hoops...just a thought...some of the differences is culture driven...soccer is definitely a difficult sport to master, but i'd argue that the basics of it are just as basic as football or basketball, but if you live in a culture that only plays football and basketball you are a lot better with your hands than your feet while if you live in a country that plays soccer your a lot better with your feet than your hands...you have to develop that coordination either way, it doesnt jsut happen... a good point, but most people use their feet for walking and running, and little else. every day people use their hands to do hundreds of different skills, so when you take a basketball or a football and put it in their hands, they'll have some sort of muscle memory that will help them. when it comes to soccer, the skill set is completely foreign to someone who's never played soccer. give me a 10 year old who's never played soccer OR basketball, and i'll give you a child that begins to succeed in basketball MUCH quicker than in soccer.
