Even though last year's team was very good, this team is better for a few reasons: this team has more scorers than last year. Tristan Thomas is WAY better than Dexter Pittman, and Jordan Hamilton is unstoppable. J Brown has been fantastic this year, and has cut his turnovers way down. Corey Joseph also scores in bunches. Defense: the horns' D was good last year, but they're one of the best in the nation this year. Balbay and Brown lock down opposing point guards, Hamilton shuts down the wings, and Thomas and Gary Johnson own the paint. The Morris twins had to work their butts off today to COMBINE for 26 points and 12 boards on only 8-24 shooting. Composure: This team was able to come back from as deep as a 15-point deficit, and a 12-point halftime deficit to win against what many people feel is the best team in the country. Last year's team would've folded like a lawnchair. This team IS good enough to win a national championship, because they can beat ANYONE in the country.

Texas is as good as any team in the nation. look at their wins: (Rankings are at the time the game was played) #16 Illinois North Carolina #12 Michigan St. #10 aTm #2 Kansas (end KU's 69 game home winning streak!) 3 losses 2-point loss to #4 pitt 1-point loss in OT to #9 UCONN (after the luckiest shot i've seen all year gave UCONN the lead) 17-point loss @ USC (the horns only bad game all year, although USC is a decent team)

what a performance by the horns, and what a performance by J'Covan! he singlehandedly got them back it in, and then iced it at the end!

Texas off to a slow start. down 18-7 early, not getting the calls either.

also, my 60 point loss prediction was made simply to get a rise out of Blue, but i'd be lying if i said i wasn't shocked that the tigers didn't win by 30 or 40.

I (hfmom) would be brave enough to say "If HF would stop coaching like it's Little Dribblers, we COULD handle Silsbee and anyone else in our district THIS YEAR" that's a more ignorant statement than the predictions made that silsbee would blow out HF. you're going to brag about a loss against silsbee who was without probably their 2nd best player and their head coach? they also surely overlooked you guys. your coach also played not to get blown out, rather than to win (according to BD). HF may have an outside chance at the playoffs but they're still looking at at LEAST 6 losses in district this year, maybe 7 or 8.
This is an easy fix. Continue club ball, eliminate high school ball. ;) ;D
somebody is camping in the wrong state park. you better head on back to your campsite ;D

Tigers by 65! 115-50

The only way HF beats Silsbee is if you put a cap on their rim before each half. Silsbee 78-HF 51
Hey santa, i have a feeling one of your predictions may or may not be close to the final result :)

HJ wakes up after a subpar effort vs. OF. HJ by 23, 81-58

oughta be a good game. Texas is one of the few teams in the country with the talent and depth down low to keep up with the morris twins.

26-6 free throws shot. H-J was called for 4 fouls halfway through the first quarter, only 5 more the rest of the game. Total foul count was HJ 9 OF 20, OF never pressed, HJ pressed the entire game, just a couple of interesting stats. HJ didn't miss free throws down the stretch which accounted for the significant 4th quarter point spread. One thing about going to HJ, you can always count on their fans not knowing how to sit on the home side. Only place in the district like that...
Very, Very, Very weak excuses. Scoreboard tells the only story that matters.
i'm sure OF will beat the crap out of HJ the next time they play and get a "fair" game... ::) -
