they were really good last year. Must've had a good recruiting class this year if people are putting them above FF.

Lumberton PD officer kills machete wielding man
bullets13 replied to tvc184's topic in Local Headlines
I watched a video the other day where an officer tazed a guy. The guy dropped like a sack of potatoes, then rolled around and was able to eventually pull the prongs out and charged the officer who ended up shooting him. Seems like they’re only effective to a certain point. It’s dependent on A) getting good contact, and B ) whether or not it takes the fight out of the suspect. And of course C) whether or not they’re on some sort of narcotic that makes them impervious to the taser’s effects -
All roads still lead through AAU Recruiters Prep, I mean Oak Cliff Faith Family

Anahauc vs East Chambers “Swamp Bowl “
bullets13 replied to APanthers's topic in High School Football
I’ll take AP by two scores, 34-20. This is EC’s chance to show they’ve improved from early in the season when they got beat down by the only good opponent they’ve faced all year. I think they have improved some, but not enough to get past Anahuac if Corbitt is healthy. -
PayPal says policy to fine customers for 'misinformation' was an 'error' | Reuters Paypal recently updated their terms of service to include their right to fine users up to $2,500 for things like using their service to promote disinformation. This is absolutely terrifying. Can you imagine having a company be able to drain your account with them because they disagree with you politically? After facing massive backlash they've crawfished on this new policy, but if my understanding is correct, they still have in place a fine up to $2500 for breaking the following rule: You may not use the PayPal service for activities that … relate to … the promotion of hate, violence, racial or other forms of intolerance that is discriminatory or the financial exploitation of a crime …. I think this is a fine rule, and they should be able to enforce some sort of ban or make you close your account if you violate it, but to straight up steal people's money based on your interpretation of their actions is insanity.

Most likely. LCM has the athletes to counter Lumberton's air attack, but aren't firing on all cylinders right now. But both teams will give Lumberton's defense some issues. Against HF and Tatum they've shown they struggle against the run, and they haven't faced anyone like Morris, or anything like Vidor's Slot-T, which they're working well right now. I kind of expect high scoring games in both these.

Just need one good week to get back on top. Tbh, I’m shocked I’m still this close this far into the season.

Don’t step too far out on that limb, buddy 😀

I’ve gone on record saying I think L-town is over ranked at 7. I still believe that. That being said, they do have a very good team, top-15 or 20 IMO. The #7 team in the state should beat vidor by a lot. I don’t think that happens, but they should win this game by a couple of touchdowns. If it’s in that range, or closer, I’ll stand by my assessment of them. If it’s a blowout I’ll reconsider some.

West Orange-Stark (21) @ Hamshire-Fannett (26) - FINAL
bullets13 replied to jdawg03's topic in High School Football
HF is a whoooole lot better the last two seasons than they’ve been in years past. Last year WOS beat them 24-8 after a couple of decades of beating them by 30-40 points. HF has taken another step forward this year, IMO. Silsbee has taken a big step forward. WOS has been awesome in district over the years, no doubt about it, but this is the best district WOS has been in for as long as I can remember. For years and years traditionally the only real threat to them in district was Silsbee. And while they beat them in district consistently, we’re only a few years removed from Silsbee knocking them out of the playoffs two years in a row. WOS has played possibly the toughest schedule of any 4A team in the state to this point. Combine that with new schemes, and they’ve struggled. There are some valid concerns with the coaching, I get it. But I don’t think it’s a guarantee that they wouldn’t have 2-3 losses at the point if they had the same staff as last year. With the exception of HF, all the teams that have beaten them this year have also beat them at times over the last several years as well. -
2022 Dallas Cowboys
bullets13 replied to bullets13's topic in Professional Sports- NFL, NBA, MLB, Etc
My thinking on that field goal is this: your defense has only allowed one touchdown all game. If you go for it and fail, LA wins with a touch down and a fg. If you kick the field goal, they need two touchdowns in 5 1/2 minutes to win. I agreed with the call in that particular scenario. -
2022 Dallas Cowboys

This Dallas pass rush is terrifying. The defense is responsible for the 4-1 record. They’ve allowed 5 touchdowns in 5 games. That’s pretty insane. They haven’t played weak teams this year. Tom Brady, the two teams from last year’s Super Bowl, and the giants, who are 4-1. Rush has filled in well, but he’s nothing but a game manager. Give him credit for not turning the ball over, but 4 touchdowns in 4 1/2 games is not great. If Dak comes back and can even be pretty good, this team can make some noise -
I had a feeling the ags could stay in this against a backup qb. All of their QBs are backups, so they’re used to playing with one, but Bama is not.
-
I think you’re right.
-
And it’s a valid point, but the teams with losing records on the schedule in question are not. One or two might be almost decent.
-
Yup, what AAW said. WOS is 3-4, with one of the tougher schedules in the state so far. And 5-30 will never be comparable to 30-5. I get the point that 5-30 against better opponents is not the same as 5-30 against good opponents, but EC’s opponents have lost to plenty of average and bad teams. EC has obviously beaten the very easy opponents in front of them, but not by the margins they would’ve in previous years, and a 41 point loss to HF is unheard of. Thus, they are down this year compared to last year. I picked them to beat Buna, for what it’s worth.
-
Understandable. The good news is, they have a ton of experience on that team. And they ARE winning. I’m not sure why they’re not playing at quite the same level as last year (apart from Caesar being gone), but they still have the potential to keep winning and finish with a good season. They’re definitely going to have to play more like last year than they have this year if they’re going to avoid finishing third in the district, though
-
HF, the only good team EC has played this year, beat them 41-0. HF has 5 wins. The 5 teams EC has beaten also have 5 wins. Combined. EC is 5-1, with their 5 wins coming against teams with a combined 5-30 record (2 of their opponents played each other, so one was guaranteed to win or they would likely be 4-31). EC’s current signature win is a 2-touchdown win over 2-5 Buna. They’ve probably played the easiest schedule in the state to this point. If EC had started their season this year with their first 6 opponents from last year, they’d like be 1-5, 2-4 at best. It is what it is. Nobody is saying EC is terrible, but they’re absolutely down from last year.
-
He’s the real deal. The horns are that one semi-dirty hit away from 6-0 and a top-5 ranking right now. Pretty disappointing

Bellville doesn’t want them first round. It’s been a tough year, but WOS is loaded with talent. IF they figure some stuff out, they’re still a tough out for anyone who has to face them in the playoffs. WOS always plays an incredibly tough pre-district schedule, but this would’ve been a good year to scale it back some and give the kids a chance to succeed while learning some new schemes. It’s a possibility that with getting to play HJ and BC in 2 of their last 3 games they get some momentum going into the playoffs. And WOS absolutely could beat Jasper as well. Jasper squeaked by HF and lost worse to Newton than WOS did. Finish on a 3-0 run and maybe find a little success in the playoffs. I know it’s been a rough transition year for the stangs, but they still have all the potential in the world on that team. Time will tell.

It’s possible. The shooter was in his 50s, and the victim in her 20s. So it seems less likely it was that, but certainly still a possibility. I was wondering if the dad and shooter had some sort of argument, and she was maybe collateral damage.
-
This is a game where the gulf in talent is so wide that it won’t be close, regardless of the decisions made on the sidelines. I’ll take WOS, 48-7
