1.
just think about what about to happen once district play starts  volleyball player's  that might be cheerleaders or on the band
oy...I guess this argument never gets old.  What's more important?  Helping your volleyball team win in district play (which could help for playoffs) or cheering a boys sport (which can hinder your v-ball teams playoff hopes)?
 2.
i think they are coming out with the volleyball, and spring districts but i think volleyball will be 24-2A
you, sir, are correct...24-2A is the district for Anahuac, Hardin, Deweyville, East Chambers, Kountze, and Buna.  However, 23-2A has Groveton, Centerville, Anderson-Shiro, New Waverly, etc. and that will make for an interesting Bi-District round in the playoffs.
 3.
Looks like due to the weather coming in the game will be postponed until tomorrow night / Wednesday Same place,  Livingston Middle School Gym Same time,  6:00 pm Good Luck Lady Hornets
This is correct.  Better safe than sorry...
 4.
Congratulations! to the Lady Hornets. They came to play and showed no fear of the undefeated Lady Eagles. There is a lesson to be learned from this. I took my two 8th grade girls to watch this game. I thought what we would see was a tough Woodville team beginning it's journey to State. What we saw was a determined Hardin team that played there hearts out and came out on top. We have all heard it said many times..... "Any team can be beat on any given day". You have to believe. Classic David vs Goliath. I have always told my girls you have to believe that you have a chance EVERY time you step on the court. You could see it in the Hardin girls eyes. They wanted this game! The Lady Eagles seem to have an attitude of entitlement. With that said the Lady Eagle still derserve credit for their acomplishments. A 30-0 regular season is unbelievable! 30-1 is heart breaking going out in the first playoff game.
This is what I meant when I made a comment on a different thread but you summed it up perfectly..."Any team can be beat on any given day."  I'm really proud and happy for this Lady Hornet team.  Coach Balch has done a fine job with this very young team.  No doubt that Woodville was bigger, stronger and probably more athletic but all that isn't a match for a strong determination to win.  Congrats Lady Hornets!
 5.
If EC makes it out of the 2nd round? They've beat Hemphill once this year so I would say going into this game EC will be the favorite to win. Also, if both Woodville and EC make it to Tyler I think the game will be an extremely close one.
Not slamming either EC or Hemphill, but I hate to see someone pull out the "they beat so-and-so once this year" card.  Everyone knows that each game is different and you need to approach it that way.  Same for the Woodville-Hardin game; yes, Woodville is a very good team but anyone who knows anything about basketball knows that anything can happen in the game, including game favorites losing that same game.
 6.

Did Hardin get runner up in district or did they tie with buna?
tied with Buna
Playoff with Buna Friday to decide the seeding.
The deciding game will be played Friday the 12th at Hardin-Jefferson HS at 6pm.
 7.
Congrats on Hardin making the playoffs, But lets be real guys if they play Woodville Hardin will loose by at least 25 lol
I hate being an English teacher, but it's "lose", not "loose."  Also, quit with the "lol."  This isn't texting on a phone and it makes you sound like you're 13 years old.  I know who you are and you are not 13.  That being said, Woodville is very good this year but the Lady Hornets have improved for being such a young team.  They will give a challenge, I think, to Woodville.  The only way Woodville wins by 25 is if they are firing on all cylinders with minimal turnovers and they force Hardin into a lot of turnovers and stupid mistakes.
 8. The new realignment is for football only.
 9. not to mention that Downey only shot 9 for 29 in the game.  That percentage is horrible.  Yes, he had 30 points but, man alive, 20 misses????
 10.
White Oak got beat 3 games straight against Poth.  They aren't undefeated anymore!  Poth will face Aubrey on Saturday in the 2A finals at 11:00.  Can't wait to see it....it should be a good game!
From what I hear, Poth will win it, based on the performances of the 2A teams yesterday.  However, you never know, Aubrey may get pumped up and beat Poth.  It takes a special team to be in the championship game.
 11. Wow, I just heard that White Oak (2A) is down 2 games to Poth.  FYI, White Oak is currently 43-0 this year...will they go down?
 12.
KOUNTZE 76 HARDIN JEFFERSON 54
You're a knothead if you think Kountze will blow out a perennial 3A playoff (and state) contender in H-J.  I still think Kountze wins but the difference will be less than 8 points.
 13.
It a possibility they will head back to Austin this season but they have to get by New Waverly who is the team that went to austin 2 years straight from Region 3
I am going to say that if they have Devin Bray and Roman Walker...those 2 are enough to give defensive coaches a fit.  I don't know McDaniel but if he is on par with the other two then New Waverly definitely will have their hands full.  I give Kountze a 85% chance of getting back to Austin as Coach Joubert knows how to get the most out of his teams.
 14.
highsky, i bet those pictures are really cool, and i'd love to run across some great stuff like that one day. I thought the coolest thing in the whole article is when he talked about being in first grade and all the boys dreamed about was one day being on that football field and becoming a legendary Bobcat. I can still to this day remember those same feelings and just wanting to grow up and get out there on friday nights and be a hero. I also remember learning that it was not alright to lose to Hardin or West Hardin under any circumstances lol. Man, we gotta get that back in our kids today and I think Coach Slack is doing a good job with that. ;D
I tried to post one of the pics that I do have on my flash drive, but, for some reason, I couldn't upload it.  It was a pic of my grandfather with 2 other HD players in a 3 point stance.  One of the fellows was Hubert Davis, I believe (off the top of my head) but I can't remember who the other was.  I have 2-3 team pics and several others with just 2-3 players in them.
 15. That was a very good read.  My grandfather, Alton Young, and his brother, Horace, played on those H-D teams  Matter of fact, I have several pictures of the teams.  I also have some small strip-like (not negatives, pictures like the kind you get in a photo booth at the mall) of a Hull-Daisetta practice from 1939.  You can see a HB sweep among other things.  Very neat pictures!
 16. funny...that was who I first thought of when I read that...ol' Willy Wonka!  Just too bad the "Old Coach" website isn't what it was back in the day.
 17.
I have only posted twice on this site.  Did not know it existed until last year, I was one that there was so much negative remarks being made.  It is sad, that bashing, taunting, fault finding is what we are drawn to.  Kind of like the news, all you hear is bad.  Look how many people will read a post that is bashing a coach or a team.  As the coach of Warren High School I would llike to ask my players if you are involved in the negative remarks or trash talking that we stop.  I have all the respect for Regina and Tabitha.  They are both great coaches that produce great teams year after year.  I love my girls and I hope none of us are responsible for making the remarks about being awesome or  perfect.  I had to apologize to my team for my behavior when we played Woodville.  I do not feel we played good, however if you ask Tabitha there were times that she probably was not happy with the way their team played.  But I got very angry over a volleyball game.  We have men loosing their lives in war and we are arguing over a game.  I am a born again Christian.  I do not need to go around boasting, bragging about being a Christian, however as a child of God I do need to live a Godly life.  When I stand before God I know he is not going to ask me how many wins or did I make it to the play-offs, however I probably will be asked at about the times I lost my temper or children over a game.  God gave us healthy bodies to be able to play this games and that is what we need to do.  Put the Shut to the Up and play.  Good luck to all of you.  My girls, please do not post negative remarks.  If you want to show you level of play...do it on the court not on this site.
You are a class act, Coach.  This is why you have been successful wherever you have been and you have the support of the Lady Hornets.  Thank you and good luck.
 18. ok MODERATORS...it is time to lock and/or delete this thread.  It is one thing to talk about a team and entirely another level when people start talking about a single person in a negative way.  The girls may read this thread and get upset.
 19. Funny on the "gift wrap" comment...did you know that Hardin was short one starter due to injury?  Woodville doesn't have room to talk since they kept saying they had starters out during the season. Warren doesn't have room to talk either in the "trashtalking" comment.  I saw both games (not the seeding game, I was out of town) but in the first game (in Warren) one of your ladies was lucky she didn't get a yellow card for taunting after she put a kill away.  The second game, you tried to trashtalk but Hardin was giving back as good as you gave.  In the end, stats don't mean anything.  The only stat I care about is the score at the end. There's a reason Hardin has been in the playoffs 8 times since 2000 and it's not because they "giftwrapped" anything.  Go try again...
 20.
1 loss and 2 wins against a team doesnt make them co- anything. warren beat hardin twice and lost one. warren is the champion of the district. when hardin called the first time, they wanted a coin toss. the second time they called they said they had a player injured and  they didnt want to play. what would you call it?
Sorry but Hardin and Warren are officially District Co-Champions.  The 3rd game was for seeding.  Don't be a hater, be a congratulator.  I think it is just sour grapes on Warren's part because they really wanted an outright district championship.  Nothing wrong with wanting it outright and wanting to have a perfect season in district, but don't down Hardin (and their coaches) because they beat Warren in what was a good match and ruined that particular goal.  Let's just move on folks...this happened 3-4 days ago...it's over and done.  Playoffs are here so let's talk playoffs.
 21. This whole thread is just sad and, on another level, disturbing because utfan06 says in his posts basically the Hardin coaches are liars and this is coming from a self acknowledged volleyball official. He must have an agenda against Hardin. Teams out there better beware because if this official doesn't like you.... :(
