  1. Hardin beats Beaumont Central in 3. Scores were 25-14, 25-22, and 25-19.
  2. Hardin wins in 3 over Liberty. Scores were 25-19, 25-12, & 25-7.
  3. chill, dude! You need to reread what I posted. I did not say you were biased, I said "it makes you SOUND biased." You may not be the only official who posts on here, but I have only heard/read you say "I am a volleyball official" while the "others" have not said so. I was ok with you posting comments until you said you were an official. It is nothing personal against you (heck, I am a UT fan too), I am just of the opinion that officials should give the appearance of being unbiased and that includes commenting on teams on a public forum. Just my two cents worth...
  4. utfan0 first of all, a vball official doesn't have any business commenting on teams/games because it just makes you sound biased & will make people wonder if you called the game in question. While I somewhat agree with your statement that you don't have to hit hard to be good, to advance in the playoffs you have to have some hard hitters on the team. It raises the odds that the other team will make mistakes if a hard hit ball comes at them as opposed to a dink or soft hit.
  5. How can Woodville be missing 3 starters when it was only the first game of the year? If we were going to go that route, I would have said that we were missing 2 starters this year, but they moved to Nebraska in kindergarten.... ;D
  6. While I will say that EC girls were very spunky last year, I don't know how you leave off Hardin off your list. I think 8 or 9 out of the last 10 years Hardin has made the playoffs. My list includes Hardin, Warren and everybody else for 3rd. Kountze loses Kaila Johnson and that is one big loss right there.
  7. He wasn't doing a throat slash. He was trying to let the officials know that Kobe hit him in the throat with his elbow. NBA rules state that if an elbow is thrown above shoulder height then it is an automatic ejection. That's what happened to Dwight Howard earlier in the playoffs. Kobe is a legit superstar but he is dirty. Case in point, in Game 1, Battier was defending Kobe well and he was getting frustrated so when Battier steals the ball, Kobe tangles him up and in the act of getting up, knees Battier hard. Plus, Kobe was taunting all night long (last night) saying "you can't guard me" and the officials let him do it. The NBA loves and protects Kobe from everything. Fisher should be suspended a game or 2 for his "hit" on Scola. Everybody that I have seen (ESPN, etc) calls it a hockey-style cross check but this isn't hockey. In hockey, they have helmets and padding and Scola had none. What if Scola had hit his head on the floor and had a concussion? If that happens, then the Rockets might not have Scola the rest of playoffs. Now, before this playoff series started, I had a lot of respect for both Kobe and Fisher. Kobe because he has that God-given talent that makes everybody go "whoa, did you see that?" and Fisher for his experience and smarts. After the last 2 games, not so much now.
  8. Just saw the news on Scout.com that Justin Isadore switched from TCU to Kansas. Is this the same Isadore from Beaumont? [Hidden Content] look under the 10:42 heading
  9. I can only think of one who would be contributing as a freshman; she was pretty good in JH but I don't remember any others who would be good enough at this point to play varsity. Sorry, but I don't know the girl's name b/c I'm not from EC.
  10. daaaaaaaaaannnnnnnnnngggggggg!!! Go DHS...you never know...football has a lot of crazy bounces!
  11. yeah that made me laugh...for those in the dark...click the link... [Hidden Content]
  12. probably a case of a superstar QB elevating the play of people around him...he makes them better. I'm quickly revising my opinion of him, even though I still think Garrett Gilbert of Lake Travis is better. It's unbelievable how this game is turning out!
  13. Lets find some more cliches for the Bronx! "De harder dey come, de harder dey fall!!!" "Win one for the Gipper!!" go Bronx!!!
  14. LT ups the lead 56-10. GG completes 56 yard pass for TD! whoops, make that 41-10 LT...typed 56 instead of 41...geez, i'm excited...following like 3 games at once. plus at a family christmas party with margaritas, bbq chicken, chips & salsa, desserts galore...overloaded now...call ems...just kidding...go everybody...
  15. doing an onside kick?!? SS must be a bit scared of the Dayton offense. Maybe they believe who scores last wins? Go Bronx!
  16. whoa, what happened? I thought SS got the ball first after the half. fumble WOW!!! Go Bronx! Coached there for a year in the mid-90s. Good athletes and even better kids!
  17. been following matthew's blog, it is now 34-7 LT (xp no good). They say that GG's running is the difference.
  18. un-frickin-believable...the katy game is on and it is all defense, unlike this game.
  19. PNG, I see from your tagline on the left on your replies that you go to orangebloods.com. Are you the same PNG who is a mod over there? I go to the Longhorn Sports forum a lot; I don't post much but actively follow the Horns. (Wife is in nursing school so hopefully, after she graduates in the spring, I will be able to go to the premium board.) While I am very glad that GG is going to UT, do you think it is possible that AJ Dugat goes there too? To add my 2 cents to the TR-GG thread, I think at this point GG is the by far the better quarterback while TR is solid. However, TR's 15 INTs is pretty high, even for a HS kid. Throw in the fact that he has been sacked, I believe, 27 times leads me think that his thought processing (can't think of a better way to put it) hasn't matured yet, but I think with a college program and college coaching, that will improve exponentially. I think he will be a good one (TR that is.)
