1. utfan, Regarding your comments about Hardin, you don't know what you are talking about.  Before you start spreading lies, you need to talk to the Hardin coach before you post stuff like this.
2.
FINAL SCORE HARDIN 38- WARREN 8 HARDIN NEVER HAD 37, NOT SURE WHERE THAT CAME FROM......
Meant to put 38, was a mistype.  oh well, it was a long night!
3. I have seen EC play twice this year and I was shocked at the disparity of both games. The first time I saw them, they played awesome and with a lot of heart & hustle. The second time, there was no evidence of the same team that I saw the first time even though it was the same players. I was scratching my head over the difference.
4. Good post. The lefty is pretty good and it is hard for a team to block a good lefty at the net. She has a better angle than most at that particular spot. Unforced errors can kill a team (although it didn't when I saw them...they still won) but they can be overcome...or not. It just depends on the team that they face. If a team can't take advantage of the unforced errors to gain momentum or a big lead, then they are not disciplined enough to win. I've seen serves called from the bench and it can be an advantage if you have a coach good enough to notice tendencies in the other team but if they are a good serve/receive team then it doesn't matter much.
5. Nobody plays perfect volleyball, not even the college elite. However, it is the team that is disciplined enough to make the least amount of mistakes and, from what I've seen of Warren and Woodville, if Centerville played them right now then Centerville wins in 3 against both teams. There is a reason Centerville is, what, 33-0 and ranked in the top 3. White Oak is up there with them.
6. You haven't seen Centerville.
7. Makes you wonder what EC's head coach is thinking....what's it going to take to make some MUCH needed changes in the lineup??? There is nothing wrong with EC's lineup. I am surprised they are only 4-3 but even 4-3 is an improvement from last year. Look, they have played & lost to Warren (who is undefeated) and Hardin (who has lost only to Warren). The only surprise was that Buna beat them but Buna is not a slouch, especially on front row. They (Buna) can block and hit but only in certain rotations. I have a feeling that EC will beat Buna the 2nd time around. Warren is beatable as well. Anyone is beatable but if Warren stays healthy they are gonna be tough on anyone in this district. They have enough hitters they can keep at least two on the net at all times and that's tough on the 2-a level. Yes, you are right. With their hitters, they are very tough, however, playoffs are a different thing. One thing I noticed about Warren is that they make a lot of bad serves (OB or in the net) and they will have to improve that if they want to go deep in the playoffs. One thing I have got to tell you is that, in the playoffs, it's not tough to find a team in 2A that has at least 2 hitters on the net at all times. Centerville and White Oak are two examples. Thought the thread topic was about 23-2A...not the playoffs... That is true that this thread is about 23-2A district, but what happens when district is over? The playoffs. What will probably happen is that Warren wins district then has to probably go through Centerville to make regionals in Tyler.
8. The University of Nebraska went to OU to play a volleyball match and the OU girls basketball team did not show very good sportsmanship in this instance. If you watch the video, you will see the players yelling and screaming at the Nebraska server. Notice how close they are to the server and yes, the stands were that close. For what it is worth, the Big 12 officials that worked the game were dismissed. (the players also had thunderstix but those were taken up before what is shown on the video.) [Hidden Content]

11. it is a district game so it is best 3 out of 5, not best 2 out of 3. I, too, am curious as to what the actual result is. It would not surprise me that Kountze won because they are a very scrappy team and they hustle hard. just wanted to say that 2-1 result sounds like a freshmen/JV score, not varsity.
12. Both teams played great .... lots of talent on both sides. EC has a great setter, good job #5. I thought #8 for EC should be a candidate for early player of the year...man, she was good. Sets very well, block and hit too. She did not make too many mistakes. This EC team is so much more improved than last year. The new coach is doing a good job.
13. Hardin wins in 5 over EC. It was a heck of a game.
14. Yes, you hit the nail on the head concerning the tourney. This happened to us and we were not happy when we were told that, after winning our 1st match then losing the next match, we were done. Not a good explanation given from the tourney directors/staff. Wow, we might not come back next year.
15. Hardin defeats Anahuac in 3 (25-20, 25-12, 25-19).
