Good post but y'all might not want to over look what CE King has coming back. As much as it pains me it will most likely be between Crosby and King for DC. Especially if a certain coach is still at a certian school that will lose most of all skill players. JS.

I've said this on several occasions Dayton's players aren't the problem it starts at the top with the leadership(AKA Coaching Staff)
Our program has constantly declined since Stewart stepped down and everyone whether they say it out loud or keep it to themselves know it.
 
This year we had the opportunity to  make it to week 3 with less than 2mins. left in game and the other team with no timeouts left to seal the deal but instead of running for the 1st down on 3rd and long on the wrong end of the field we throw a pic with a short field to score on. Should've run the ball instead and even if you don't get 1st down yardage you still get to punt ball down the field and give our defense good field position to stop Angleton and win ball game.
 
Last year same issue have opportunity to try a field goal to get ahead with not much time left in game but no we ran it instead, when your in the play-offs you go for the win and have faith in those young men playing their hearts out for you on the field.
 
Coaching a team means fixing the problems that are present and making the right adjustments when needed but blaming those players on the sidelines at the ball games which I have seen quite a bit of  the last several years is wrong those kids are just doing what their being coached to do on the field. Maybe if we correct the problems starting at the coaching level the kids that play key positions wouldn't quit and the players that stay would work harder if they are built up instead of constantly being put the blame upon.

Wasn't  Hancock a defensive coach before he hit the Head Coach lotto ??? I for one would like to see Dayton get back to playing defense for a change we haven't seen a dominate defense for four years now (sucks) !  I know I and a lot of Dayton fans are getting sick & tired of the mediocrity we see year in and year out. We need someone that garners respect from the players,parents and fans we don't need someone that bashes and blames the players for getting blown out by the likes of Summer Creek or CE King. New leadership=no dist championship,last 2 yrs 4th & 3rd place{no playoffs in old system}no developed leadership at qb & none returning/experience.When you're making adjustments w/players in week 10 you're not evaluating the talent pool at hand.Your best talented/explosive player should be @qb w/#2 back-up qb your 2nd most dangerous/talented kid.Now to the big issue=defense{what made Dayt,back in those days few{only 3 or so kids ran for over 100 yds in a game/in a season}next=3 man front is not effective stopping/slowing down a power run game unless you have a beast @ nose guard{none since D Wright sr@SMU).Verses Angleton no halftime adjustments w/3 man front giving 5 yds head start & getting beat by 4 plays.Something must change the kids@varsity level are not giving 100%to the team,it shows in practice & in the game.Starts w/leadership,why does a team w/19 straight playoff appearances never have more than 21 srs @ 5a level,playing teams w/26 to 49 srs.Kids need coaching them up,not tearing them down w/threats.Stewart hangs it up 1 day soon the streak ends=end of story cause when he's involved the kiddos get after it w/intensity.Currentlywe hanging thanks to other teams helping us out by beating opponents.2015 dist 21-5a is loaded w/young talents & coaches,we need to go back to developing young talent,lately the kicking game has been the solid game Dayton has had,because we ain't scoring tds like we once did.You got to play your talents @ hand,playin favs will get ya trouble,seen enuff in the past before 1996 when Dayt program ran by politics in town

That's the same thing I said at halftime of our game have to work on that one side of our defense #32 burned us all night but they have a week to work on that. I'm still very proud of all our players one heck a job Saturday night. I would have sat through a hurricane to watch those Broncos play their game, now go get Angleton this coming Friday night it's payback time for the Broncos.

If you all have nothing to do friday night, ya'll ought to come to League City and watch some good smash mouth football. Always a good match-up between Dayton and Angleton. We'd love to see ya'll in the stands to help support the Broncos... Hope to see ya'll there.............

21-5A got battled tested in week 1.
Every team played well and  came out on top.
Teams know where their weakness's are and the coaching staff will get it fixed and study the rival teams strengths and weakness as well I think 21-5A comes out looking good round 2.

Dayton fans that know anything about football would be silly to question Angletons football program. Angleton is always big fast and has a great facilities. Angletons football field is nice. I doubt either team will get their tails kicked. PS I would prefer if y'all didn't play your best.

Hope everyone has a good week of practice, and goes and represents 21 well against 24 except king facing a 23 team.

I think we will have another good week, the toughest game will probably be kp vs. George ranch, but in all honesty I feel that KP is the best team in our district to play grhs, get ahead early and play good defense you got this game. From what I have seen grhs isn't a passing team at all

Maybe a rematch next year. Our JV team was also tough. Undefeated with lots of sophs.
King and Crosby both young also. Not sure how this year finishes, but 2015 is the year I expect someone from our two districts to get to Jerryworld.

Ok now that was fun and won't kick an Injun when they're down. We're gonna need all the support we can get. So here goes? Great season and hug all them boys from 22-5A. I know they're heart broken. They've poured their heart and souls out in a game they love and we get the pleasure of supporting them and this is a part of the game that if you have compassion, it hurts. Somebody has to win and somebody has to lose, but only on the scoreboard cause to me they are all winners. Safe travels and remember it's only a game, a great GAME!!

I went and watched all the play-off games this weekend between 21-5A&22-5A
This was the best game out of the 4 by far.
I know that Nederland won in your district but PNG played the best game out 22-5A really surprised you weren't the DS Champs.
You have nothing to hold your heads down about great ball club. It's always a fun to watch and very physical game between the Purple and White teams.

My takes from the game
1. I don't remember seeing PNG run outside as much as they did tonight, thought they would run right at em
2. Turnovers were the difference
3. Both teams played hard, but when you have two timeouts at the end of the first half, throw the bowl for a 7 yard gain to about the Dayton 40, then let 15 secs run off the clock and don't call timeout or run another play.
4. It looke like 3 on 2 with PNG's defense, Dayton had 3 split left or right and PNG had 2 defenders to the same side.
5. Was the best game 21-22 5A and both teams played hard.

Congrats to the 21-5a Boys for all making it to the second round. King, Dayton, Crosby, and K.park all the hard work has paid off. Lets continue to support each other all the way to the end. After they called us overrated called us weak said we wasn't physical we proved them wrong. We broke out the broom 4-0 SWEEP not bragging just confident. Rep your school 21-5a boys

We have been saying 21-5a is loads better than 22-5a 3-0 tells that story now when Dayton finishes the sweep everything will be better.
