The upset would be La Marque over WOS
-
Heard it was a MoFo of a fumble recovery.... Just saying
"FO" sure!
-
on that punt the bean bag were dropped that let me know the ball was touched by somebody at that spot the only player near the spot was a HJ player.
That answers everything. B)

Better yet...he will follow through on his bet and take the one year hiatus. Then we will be spared the feces...both on the message board and on the field.
Can you find a post with this bet? I do remember the Silsbee bet last year, which he honored, but don't recall this bet this year.

Oh, it doesn't bother me one way or the other. Obviously you're fascinated, maybe even obsessed with what ifs and maybes. I must admit, it's getting quite interesting to see what kind of spin you guys will continue to put on this ONE call. Who knows? This thread may last for the rest of the year. I would at least like to see that. Can I stay, sir?
No if's or maybe's, and I do not think it would have changed the outcome, possibly the spread I don't know. The conversation (or argument) is, was it a bad call or not. You seem to be fascinated, maybe even obsessed that it was a good call for some reason. Good luck to WOS, I think it would be great 'if or maybe" we meet again in the playoffs, a great statement for the quality of athletes and students from this area. (And btw I still love my cardinals, they WILL be back!!!!)

Ohhh I get it. Poor fella. You have nothing else to talk about. My apologies. Please forgive me. Talk about this as much as you'd like. Poor guy.
Wow, thanks. LOL

WEST ORANGE STARK! District Champs! 42-21 OVER HJ! That's all that matters.
Btw, I'm curious. Does BC stand for Bridge City?Maaaybee?? :( Can we talk about this here?

It's Sunday. Why are we still talking about this?
Thought this was a discussion board. My bad!

I was at the game, had a better view of it than you did (because it was on our side of the field and it was right in front of us) and it looked like it hit him to everyone around us because everyone reacted when it hit him. The ref was right on top of it as well. You stating he was no where near it makes me wonder if you were really there or not. He was the CLOSEST official to the play. And for that matter, how do you know what the ref said??? They stood around and discussed it amongst themselves so you are either regurgitating hearsay, or you are one of the officials. Another thing, DT did not simply touch it and leave the field. He scooped it up and kept looking at one of the officials waiting for a reaction from him BECAUSE HE THOUGHT #1 TOUCHED IT. And lastly... AGAIN... this did not change anything. With the play, right or wrong, you got beat. You got beat at the LOS. Without the play, you get beat at the LOS. As said before, the best thing that could have happened for HJ was those refs. Had they not kept the clamps on the Mustangs the Hawks would've been run out of the stadium. Period.
The official was blowing the play dead before the ball was picked up.

The punt play appears to be a situation factor for H J folks. If you would consider the reaction of the WOS players, then, maybe the matter will become clearer. Why would several players engage in recovering the ball if it had not been touched? Did the players have time to discuss a plan to MAKE UP a touch plan to say a HJ player had a ball bounce or touch his helmet? I don't think so, therefore, since the players are on the field, and they all went to recover the ball, chances are they had it right. The play should not have ended HJ players mental frame. It should have motivated them to play harder just as it did for WOS to fight harder after the refs. kept them from scoring more points by calling bad plays back to back to back on them. If these teams meet again, I believe that the score will be worse. The defense will stop those running plays that you scored on, and your team will still not be able to stop our passing game. MOVE ON from the punt play!
Personally don't care, the game is over. Just for the record, if you were at the game or have seen the replay, and I was and have, the ball did not touch any HJ player and the WOS players did not jump on the ball like a fumble but surrounded it then touched it to kill it. Further HJ's offense and WOS defense took the field before the ref's sorted this out. ....Terrible officiating......

Great post.
Jeff Mathews has started quite a legacy with his assistants here in SETX. DD is rightfully gotten a lot of praise but Josh Smalley has done a heckuva job in OF too. And both great guys by all accounts.Might look back a little further, all a product of coach Les Johnson at Bridge City. Great coach and mentor.

hi my name is aaron tippett i live on kitchen street in port neches tx......
Bedelman ran his reckless mouth like an idiot on here for the last three months...he shoved hj down everyones throat and attacked ANYONE who had a different opinion....now he is hiding behind one call and blaming the refs! he deserves everything he gets and so do you! shame on you for defending himAnd he forced all of you to log on, go to high school football, find the thread he is posting on, maybe throw a few post's at him, then complain about his bold post's. lmao & smh
-
You all are bored mindless, and threads are lucky to make 5 pages without bedelmon. Gotta love him!

Yea i did correctly pick ned against both central and png, ec over buna and jasper over lcm to name a few. I dont know everything and dont pretend to but i do have an educated guess and it says wos by two tds. HJ fans all hung their hat that wos lost to newton. I was alone for days still saying newton was still a good team and that the loss wasnt as bad as it seemed. Now Newton is great again in everyones eyes and so the newton win over wos is exactly what i said it was, a win by the eagles who played that night like their playoff lives were riding on it. Youre mad because im more right than you want to believe
Psychic B) ;)

Great game for two teams with no quit in them. Kudo's to both coaching staff's
-
No no no. Keep up buddy. HJ is the only team in SE tx that has improved from last year. They either beat teams that are deemed worthy opponents because they are superior to all other teams this year OR played horribly if they are taken to task by teams they consider inferior. Hope that helps ;)
You need to move to the WOS thread, they may need you next week!!!! ;)
-
Nice to make goals(or predictions) you can always update!!Skipper. I disagree with that statement. District has not started yet so how can one say they are the best in district. Regardless of records, WOS is the team to beat! HJ fans should be excited that they are at a point where they can actually brag about their team. They are playing great ball right now but that will have to continue if they want a chance at beating WOS. WOS goes undefeated in District! Yes! Undefeated!

My vote went to HJ. Ask aggiesarewe. Voted hj ahead of wos. Guys listen closely, i really dont care. It was great seeing how annoying people can be and how annoyed they can get. Its been a fun weekend. Move on.
And i wasnt knocking any hj player. I was though pointing out yes wos has more talent, one being deionte Thompson. Once again, settle down. I don't dislike HJ, just some of the obnoxious fans of the hawks. But you filled my weekend with laughsYep, I was wrong again, who would have ever thought!!!! :( :( :(
-
Dave's rankings has HJ moved to #6, WOS dropped to #7. Tatum dropped out of rankings.
Dang, did they check with Gabe??????
-
I will post to say i never belittled your players. I say they arent AS talented as a group as wos but yes i do know about your team and know hj is a solid squad. Its kinda my job even if i.dont cover em in person.
I apologize if i offend any hj fans. Just is my opinion that this will not be the year you beat wos and its not because i think youre terrible. Your proud of your guys so i applaud your confidence. Wish ya luck
I leave this thread though cause i see where its been and it wont get any better for each side. Its been fun bickering sports with ya though, its why we love the games but its time to focus my energy on this weeks games and the work week.Quote "You're right. I forgot HJ is the one with the areas best defensive player that alabama fans wish they had on field last night. A guy who can and has already changed the face of a game this year. What number is he for you this year?" I won't even comment on which player you are referring to, it could be multiple choices, but sounded derogatory to me, maybe I'm wrong there too. Might find other sources for information than here. ;) imo

Pulling for WOS but don't think LG is a one man team, their line does a very good job getting 22 into the secondary where he is most effective. Need to contain him at the line or he is tough to stop. #5 not as quick but very good runner also. They seem to be "a one man team" but be careful, thinking that can get you beat. Go Mustangs
