Bridge City by 10.
I mean, we’ll be back to Bridge City by 10 if we leave after halftime.

Jasper looks to build on a solid first game against Lumberton. The offensive line continues to show improvement and the defense played solid against the pass and the run. Offensively, they were able to get room for their speedy running backs to make plays and they controlled the box with a short, but efficient passing attack. Look for Jasper to keep building and improving this week. Jasper rolls 35-7

I think it's going to be a good close game. I just hope that both teams walk away with no injuries.

OldBallCoach got a reaction from R.G. MAC in Nacogdoches at Jasper
Jasper looked much better this week! Offensive line had a good push and made a few holes for our speedy running backs. Would still like to see them throw the ball downfield some to loosen up the defense but hopefully that will come as season goes along. Defense played well missing some starters but needs to work on defending the spread offense. They gave up way too many big plays. Overall a promising scrimmage against a solid 5A opponent.

1st string tied 2 to 2 second string tied 2 to 2 also . Played 2 quarters live action tied that 21 to 21 . Offence looked lot better . Defence had 3 starters out but they hung in there.

I agree. While the basketball championship certainly puts the Tigers up there, the co-championship in football, making the playoffs in baseball and Kalon Barnes' track titles actually clinches things.
My second pick might surprise some....it would be Jasper. The Bulldogs made the state tournament in two different sports (girl's soccer and baseball), along with a football district championship.
And Danny, don't worry, as the all-state baseball teams have been announced, this forum is headed back to the top of the board.

OldBallCoach got a reaction from Booster in Jasper vs Waco Robinson
Jasper has been underestimated all season. This is a Jasper team with a 30-5 record with those 5 loses coming to Sam Houston (2nd Ranked 5A team in LA), Acadiana (3rd ranked 5A team in LA), Kelly (TAPPS State Runner Up), Central Heights (Top Ranked 3A Team in TX), and Hudson (District rival, 14 inning game). They played a very TOUGH schedule and beat quality team after quality team, yet never received the recognition they deserved. Being the under dog is nothing new to these kids and they thrive in that role. They have a team full of hard ball players, great coaches, and they all have grit in their teeth!
Look at their stats: .310 team batting average, 15 HRs, 262 Runs, THREE Pitchers with an ERA below 1.7 with a combined 27-2 record.
These kids will show up to play and it's gonna be one hell of a series!

OldBallCoach got a reaction from LCMAlumtiger32 in Jasper Vs Tarkington Predictions
HJ and Jasper played a controlled scrimmage. Never played each other this year.
Tarkington is in the second round because they played Houston Wheatley in the first round.
