  1. Rough weekend for Woodville Carthage 7. Woodville 2 Mt Pleasant 7. Woodville 2 Livingston 2. Woodville 8 Spring Hill 6. Woodville 3
  2. Woodville at the Nacogdoches tournament. Friday Carthage@ 3:45 Mt Pleasant@6:00 Saturday Livingston @ 1:30 Spring Hill@ 3:45
  3. The only 1 that scares me in region 3 is Diboll. They return everyone including a move in from Lufkin probably their best athlete Colby Dejesus. Multiple signees and committees on this team.
  4. I know you guys can’t see the forest for the trees, but Woodville has lots of talent. I agree Woodville has never won at much of anything, but the talent is here at least for 1 more year. Woodville could have the Dallas Cowboys playing for them and they will only go 2,rounds deep. The Culture thing starts at the top. School Board Administration and AD. It is what it is. Nothing will change . There are a couple kids y’all need to keep up with Braylon Rigsby 6’3” 280lbs very athletic lots of speed with a huge vertical. Darius Bean 5’11”. 185. 4.4 40 both are being recruited heavily.
  5. Woodville non district schedule. West Orange Stark scrimmage Bridge city scrimmage Franklin Newton Liberty Orangefield.
  6. I’m curious 4th string what schools do you and melon represent.
  7. Like you I look forward to this season, these kids have been brought up for this moment. If we don’t win it won’t be for a lack of talent.
  8. Woodville. We will have the most talented group of seniors to come through Woodville in some time. If we don’t beat y’all next year you will sweep us the next. Talent drops off tremendously. Can’t wait for this game.
  9. You will surely be tested early with this schedule. Only downside is none of these teams are known for a passing game. I don’t think you will make it out of East Texas without a loss.
  10. They might have bit off more than they can chew. You have to admit they aren’t scared.
  11. Not to burst any bubbles but these summer show case teams are made up of players of equal talent. There are multiple 17u teams . One is made up of D3 talent and below. One will be made up with juco talent and 1 will be filled with D1 talent and above hence the Bandito scout team. All their kids on the scout team are committed with velocities above 90. And usually these kids pay very little to play. The lower talent teams bear the brunt of the cost for the premier teams. They are entered in tournaments where they are seen by coaches they think will recruit them. D3 players are seen by D3 coaches D1 seen by D1 coaches.
  12. I see you have been through the process everything you say is true. The minimum they can offer is 25 percent. Most have their scholarships removed after the 1st year due to having to sign a new class every year and having only 11.7 scholarships to offer. The NCAA really makes it Hard for Baseball Kids.
  13. We attended a recruiting event earlier this year and we were told all recruits no matter righty or lefty needed to meet the 88 to 90 velocities to pitch. Outfield 93 and infield 91. I know it is weird that position players were higher than pitchers. Again this is D1 and a lot of people will know someone that don’t have these numbers that play but again they are the exception to what is recruited.
  14. Wow. Did not realize so many feelings are hurt. Let me provide some clarification. To play D1 ball you had better be at 80 to 83 as a freshman, 83 to 85 as a sophomore, 88 to 90 as a junior. If you want to play D3 etc you will need to be 85 . Stats, ERA, Batting average mean nothing. They will ask how many Homeruns you have hit. Velocity, Bat speed and base path speed is what they recruit. This is what everyone needs to realize. High school coaches play the most polished and knowledgeable players. But most of these will never see a college field.
  15. There are exceptions. But if I had to guess, politics had more to do with not starting, than actual talent.
  16. STigers85 is dead on. Velocity 1st Accuracy 2nd.
  17. I love this post. If mom and Dad would do a little homework and try to find out what it takes to be a D1 prospect they would soon see it is all about Velocity. There are crooks behind every pitchers mound that will tell the kids if they just have command they can play college ball and when their senior season comes around and they are below 85 and no one is looking at them all the time and money are down the drain. So more than likely reality has set in and that is the reason they are not playing. If you are a D1 prospect you will start as a freshman.
  18. I look forward to our schedule. We play Rusk, mount Pleasant and Hudson.
  19. Yes they have a good team. They return nearly everyone. All they had was football coaches last year and the talent took them as far as they could go without a baseball coach. I understand they have hired a good HC and are planning a deeper run in the playoffs.
  20. I agree and so does coaching there is no talent in Woodville , I would have done as Eagles 95 suggested made several personal changes.
  21. Just to bring this back to everyone’s attention.
  22. I agree with eagles 95. The kids are not always to blame. When talent is equal it is alway in the hands of the coach. This is why people look at the score and say Woodville has no talent. But no we will keep doing the same thing and expect a different result.
  23. I agree of the 2 Rockdale was the better team. If you were there you can probably do a good job describing the 1 st half of the Rockdale game . Also if you were in Tyler you could do a good job of describing the sentiment from the stands and many of the comments that were made during and after the game even by the ladies. Let’s just say we can agree to disagree.
