1. League City watching those Mighty Pirates against Clear Brook!
 2.
I totally understand not everyone can stay to the end for whatever reason.  It actually isn't any of my concern really.  I just know for me and my family we stay until the end weather they win or lose.
I know that, I didn't mean anything by it, I was simply stating that it takes a toll on the kids when they turn around and the fans are leaving.  That is all.
 3.

The rumor mill has it that 4 PN-G players have quit the varsity football team including 2 starters tat include Logan Chipman and Peveto.  Have heard this from 3 different sources but can't independitely confirm. Logan was their top reciever for this year. He is suppose to focus on baseball. Hate to hear this and good luck to these young men.
As a WOS fan, if we had anything to do with these young men  quiting, I sincerily apologize. I think that the PNG fan`s  should get some of the blame because they walked out on these kids in the third quarter.
This is nothing new it happens at EVERY HS, College and Professional football game across America.  PN-G is not the only fans that leave early.  I personally do not leave until after the final seconds click off the clock.
I agree with you, it does happen at all schools but we stay until the end.  I remember last year when we were playing Angleton in the playoffs and at halftime Angleton was only winning by a small margin.  By the end of the 3rd, it had turned into a very large lead for Angleton.  A lot of fans started leaving during the 3rd and by the middle of the 4th our side became very small.  I say all that to say this, the BE did an article right before this season kicked off and they spoke to one player from each team.  There was a little Q & A that the BE report did.  The Vidor player was asked something along the lines of, what was your worst moment/memory of last years season?  The players response was, "Looking into the stands during the Angleton game and a lot of our fans were leaving, even our fans had given up."  Each Friday, we leave when the buzzer sounds at the end of the 4th.  :)
 4. Also, despite the schedule saying the game starts at 7:30 it starts at 7.  No matter how you go, the traffic will be bad.
 5. This game is going to be a huge test for us before district but I think we will be able to hang in there and pull out a win.
 6.
Thanks for the well wishes...there won't be any excuses coming out of Nederland like there were spewing from vidor after last year's "L" to the Dogs. I hope Vidor wins this week as well so we can have a matchup of undefeated teams...in reality, both Nederland and vidor have their hands full this week, although I don't really know too much about Clear Brook.
I agree, I hope we both go into our matchup 3-0, it's going to be a great game that week, no doubt! Good luck this Friday Nederland!
 7. Two great teams going head to head but I think Angleton will win this one but not by much.

Pay a couple thousand out of the millions you make but then you play the next game.  It is getting out of hand.  To me, discipline starts in your home and as you play sports and are under your coach, he continues to instill those values into you when you are on that field representing your team/community.
No they don't. The most recent being the player from Detroit. Fined and suspended for 2 games and it wasn't for fighting. And then their is the Bills player fined for an endzone celebration.
My point about the whole NFL thing is that "typically" they do not get a suspension.  The whole thing with Suh was a completly different story.  He stomped on the GB players arm and deserved the punishment he got.  They have been getting fined for "excessive celebration" for years now which to me is crazy to fine them for that.  Just like Jared Allen with the Vikings and his celebration he does after he sacks a QB, he can still do it, but he can't go to his knees and do it or he gets fined.  Fighting, unsportsmanlike conduct, etc., needs to have tougher punishments.  My point was, these boys watch these men in the NFL and these days the NFL players are not setting the best example in football anymore.
Alot of them haven't been for quite awhile now. Keep in mind that your avg. nfl player is in their mid to late 20's and has probably not quite grown up yet themselves(and has a big bank account now). It's kinda obvious whichones don't ya think! The example needs to be set through parents, teachers and coaches. We should be the ones preparing our children and showing them how to act as they grow up. Not some one on TV.
Yes, I know most of them are young.  And in my original post I said the following, "To me, discipline starts in your home and as you play sports and are under your coach, he continues to instill those values into you when you are on that field representing your team/community."  I agree with you that someone on TV should not teach these things. BUT look at who you are talking about, TEENS and YOUNG KIDS that look up these NFL players and "want to be like them".  If one of my kids did something like this, they wouldn't want to even think about their punishment. Period.
And I agree with your points as well. And trust me, my sons last worry wouldn't be what the UIL or school was going to do. But now that I think about it, it's not just NFL players.
Exactly and I agree with your point as well.  It seems as though the days of respect are slowing flying out of the window and it makes my skin crawl to see a child or an adult for that matter disrespect anybody.  All I have to do is look in my kids direction when they are doing something they know they should not and it's an instant fear of, "oh crap, I better stop." LOL

I expect we shall meet again possibly next year as you have an excellent team and coaching staff! I look forward to it! BTW, it's niether here nor there as they say, but the "tunnel" that you guys run out of at the start of each half (don't know the technical name for it) is one of the coolest, & most intimidating I have seen all year! Looks eeeeevil. ;D GOOD LUCK NEXT YEAR PIRATES!!!!
It's pretty cool, huh?  We love it!!  When the smoke starts and the boys run out of it and in to the smoke it is AWESOME!!  My kids LOVE it!!  I work with somebody from PNG and they said the same thing, it looks evil and creepy!
Vidor's tunnel is pretty cool. The Vidor crowd also impressed me at this game. I wish PN-G's crowd would get that into the game.
I know you guys and Nederland as well get into football just like we do, but as I tell people all the time, there is nothing like sitting behind the Vidor Pirates.  The crowd is awesome, the feeling is amazing, it's truly like no other.  I have always wanted to sit across from us on the other side of the field just to hear how great it sounds when everybody chants....GO PIRATES, GO!!!
Same here lol. I often wonder how loud we really are.
I have been told that we are pretty loud when you are sitting on the other side. LOL

 16. When I watched this yesterday, I had tears in my eyes. Coach Roark displayed what sportsmanship is all about, he is such a class act. I loved what Coach Mathews told our boys too, he is also such an amazing class act that all of our boys look up to. Our boys learned something so much deeper than just football this year.
 17.
Honorary Captain: Matt Thomas, sr., Vidor This is the best part.  :)
That is awesome that they did this!!  ;D
 18. major kudos to Jeff, the entire coaching staff and the entire Vidor Pirate team!! I have known Jeff since he came to Vidor under Pat Murphy and the Jeff from then, is the same Jeff we still have today. He's a great man both on and off the field. Nobody can make everyone happy so of course there will always be somebody who doesn't agree with everything. Very excited to see us next year as most of our boys are returning. Football season can't start soon enough!!!!! Vidor is VERY proud of the Pirates!!

 20. Our Vidor Pirates will win this one, no doubt!! In Pirate Country, "QUIT" is a four letter word that you do not even think about forming your lips to say.

PRCA officials want to get a look at the Bronco that is running Wild through 4A Div 2 football..... Ozen shows how fast Southeast Texas Standards really are..... Bulldogs take care of business and set up 20-4A showdown with the Black Pearl... Game to be played at Reliant Stadium...
HAHA!! Love 'em all!!!
 22. I am so proud of our boys.  They have had to deal with and extreme amount of heartache this year and yet they continue to hold their heads high every single day, no matter how much pain they feel. As a VHS Alumni, this my friend is what makes you proud to call yourself a Pirate. The feeling you get while sitting in the stands week after week is like no other, its an amazing feeling of togetherness. I have been a Pirate since I was born and I wouldn't change that for the world. Go Pirates!!  ;)
 23. Pirates sail high on the Black Pearl with all their devoted fans firing the canons and laying the wildcats to rest!!
