  1. I see Sage Seay being Nederlands next Trevin Sonnier, locking down rec and stopping the run on D, playing rec and running a little wild DOG on offense, returning punts.... etc.  As crazy as it sounds we would be wasting his ability at QB, especially when you could have all that and a D good QB in Preston White

i  havent  seen Sean Yoder mentioned yet ? I think he was the most feared punt and kickoff returner we ever had ! Really good reciever too  :D

All those things and the BEST lockdown corner we ever had.  You could turn the other teams best receiver over to him and forget about it.

This year I like Shaw, Taylor, Wood, Raines, Stampley, lots of fun players to watch. In the last 17 years Sumrall is my favorite and coincidentally a good friend and coworker now. I also loved Galassi, Boyd, Cobb, Smith, Peletiere, Atterbury, Mohica, McPherson, Mayhews, the Gentiles, Joseph Ramoine, and of course Micah... But Troy was the one, the one that started it all on the most exciting td run ever against Sweeney.. Boyd is second with the tip and interception in Rice stadium against friendswood in the most exciting win in Nederland history.

    Nice memories Mr.East
  4. Noel has executed several good pooch kicks.  The dude plays soccer and should be able to throw the dang ball up so high that his cover team could catch it or at a minimum the receiving team has to fair catch at the 30ish.  That is the correct high percentage play when the air is heavy or kicking into the wind and touchbacks are not guaranteed as was the case Friday night in that environment.

My favorite player is 25 Jordan Wood and 33 Korbin Stampley. They have been playing beside each other at LB since 7 grade and work together great.Just curious if Nederland has ever had a better pair of linebackers.I am a little biased because I am 25's Dad.

Absolutely no better pair of Lb's we've ever had... Maybe Boyd and Darin Smith but not sure if they played together or not?  Stampley and Wood are definitely more imposing, faster and stronger.  Boyd and Smith had great noses for the ball.  Four of our best Lb's along with Brisendine
  6. I agree with goat, Noel has an awesome leg, but doesn't kick it out every time.  Fridays air was heavy and he was only getting it to the 10 in warm ups.  He usually executes the pooch kick so well that it has to be fair caught, so it is a mUCH more high percentage play, ESP with our defense, he just didn't get the hang time he usually does.
  7. This is a chicken shit thread of comments by Nederland fans,
Let's shut the F up, now!!!! We won, refs called the penalties, leave it.  couron Body Slammed Montana on the blocked punt cyz it wuz between the whistles
It was a Physical game like most in the state don't play, anyone seen the weenie axx 70-63 games. Get over there it we play hard nosed football down here, live with it.
  8. We're feelin ya Toups, I wooda picked Lumberton over PNG if I had the time to put a classy pickem together like you do.  No hard feelings, won't matter in the outcome anyway.  Nederland WILL be too much for Vidor... no messageboard is going to change that.  Dogs got business this year and Vidor's just standing in the way of it.
  9. Smitty knows his football, or can Google... one or the other.

A "Dead T" is a straight T look but with the fullback moved back to where his hands are even with the feet of the other two backs.  Or maybe a hair or two deeper.

I would assume the slot T is a version of the dead T that uses a SLOT back.  And the wing T is a version of the dead T that uses a WING back. But I'm no football guru.

Been involved with junior high and high school football for 64 years; even back to the single wing formation.  I have never before heard of the "Dead" T formation.  What is that?
