I told ya this would be about a 6 point game ;) Congats to EC, they were the most improved team I saw on the girls side this year.

I think the 2 late season games with HJ, while being good ballgames took a little out of each club emotionally.That and the fact it sounds like both Navasota and Madisonville both played very well in transition.It's hard to prepare for that in this area because after you get past the Ozen and Centrals of the area not alot of the clubs run.Congrats to the Lady Bobcats on a fine season.You have converted me into a fan and I will definitely come watch some next year.

Do these people realize how many clubs in this area would give their right arm to be 32-6.Geez,give me a break.These folks would dog Red Auerbach : : :

Congrats to the Lady Hawks on a fine season.They ran in to a pretty dog gone good club tonight with a very good post player.I think she had 29 pts and probably at least 15 boards.The Hawks played hard and have nothing to hang there heads about.Several good young players contributed tonight and the little freshman girl played well.Congrats to the Seniors on a great career you should be proud of yourselves.

I'm just a fan not a homer.I probably live as close to Orangefield as I do Sour Lake and I know I have more kinfolks in O-field ;D ;D ;D I think you are right about liven up the board. This is really a dead issue and should be dropped. Sorry but the coaches will decide who gets what and we are all homers. ;D ;D

I was by no means downing Olivia's accomplishments nor was I saying all Moore could do is score.I was making an observation about players I've seen and in my opinion(for what it's worth-absolutely nothing )I think Moore is the best overall player in the district.She has the total package.I have to disagree with you on the speed issue,in this case it's pure basketball speed and it has a lot to do with it.In your opinion is there a better defender or rebounder in the district than Fontenot?This will liven up the board and in all honesty every girl mentioned in this thread has done an unbelievable job and should be very proud of themselves.

Why in the world would they play this in Goodrich?????I agree its a great warm up game but the Summitt in Woodville would have been a central location.Are these 2 clubs in different 1-A divisions?This will be a toss up but I'm going with the Pirates by 4.

Tip Off is at 7:00.Throw the Tarkington score out the window.HJ shot the long ball that night absolutely unreal and the common opponent is not a factor this time of year,HJ looks to rebounding from a little late year slump so I'll pick them by 6 IF they shoot the ball well.Fontenot could be the key to this one,she is developing in to a very good player.

Moore is the best player in this district.Her numbers were down a little toward the end of the season because she was battling injuries and a severe case of the flu.Her offensive numbers are probaly gonna be around 19 points a game in district if my stats are close,she is a super defender and the fastest girl from one end of the floor to the other I've ever seen.She is the total package,thus the MVP.She scored half of HJ'S points in the seeding game and probably should have been home in bed .If you started putting together a team out of 21-aaa this is where you would start.Olivia is a very good shooter and probably would get the nod as the offensive player.In my opinoin Fontenot would probably be the defensive POY.Silsbee had a girl that will rank way up on these list as did WOS if the coaches are honest with themselves.This topic is probably a couple of weeks early,I hope the results are sealed until the season is over.

Congrats to the Pirates.This says a lot about the character of these young men,it would have been easy for them to go through the motions in this one.I really thought they would get the 3rd spot.This is a good way for them to end there season.

These 2 clubs like to do a lot of the same things.Woodville is probably a little deeper but they aren't 20 points better.EC could easily win this one but I'm goin with Woodville by 6.

Congrats Ladies. Fontenot really turned it up a notch in the 3rd and Moore seems to be getting well at the right time.Overall it looked like the Lady Hawks were rounding back in to form tonight.

I think you were talking to the scouter ghost.I just wanted to check because I wasn't at this game.I saw 23 play at Spurger and he seemed to give everyone a lift with his "d" that night and also hit some big shots.He may be a better player coming off the bench but he looks to me to be a pretty solid player.

I quess if your just gonna have 2 that's 2 pretty good ones to have.I think they were both all state that year.Maybe the the times I saw this years club they were just having an off night.

I think the game would be interesting from a matchup stand point.Fontenot is developing into a very good post player and Moore is as quick a shooting guard as there is in the state.I would drive to Sam Houston to watch that one.Hargraves is definitely a good ball player but I don't think she is the best overall player in the area.O-field,HJ,Central and Ozen all have some good ones and Silsbee has to have the most underated one I've seen this year.That girl can play.

I don't know anything about Coldspring other than they finished in a tie with Huffman who HJ beat by 20 plus earlier this year.All that doesn't mean anything this time of year.This game will probably come down to whether or not Moore is well for the Hawks.If she is they should win this one if not they have to change some defensive schemes which have been their strengths all year.If all the HJ girls are healthy Tuesday Coldsprings can throw their scouting report out the window.

KHSAlum 400,I totally agree with you.I hadn't looked at the UIL brackets,that's why I didn't comment on which team would go deep in the playoffs.My question was about comparing the 2 clubs in 07 and 09 and there is NO comparison.

Yes they did that's why I mentioned the seeding game because they split.However Kountze won the state title that year.In my opinion the team that I saw at the drum that year was one of the best 2-a clubs I've seen.

Dawg, I guess we will just have to agree to disagree on this one.I follow a lot of high school and college ball (probably watch around 35-40 games a year)and try to evaluate the clubs that I see.I saw the 07 club ALOT as they were in our district that year.I even saw the seeding game and the 2 games in the drum and that club was special.Night in and night out they could light it up.This years group I have seen 4 times and they have struggled each time I've seen them.They are normal for a high school club,they struggle shooting against the better defensive teams while the 07 club could shoot it against anyone.The 07 club would hang 100 on ya on any given night and did it on a regular basis.I don't mean any disrespect to this years team but the 07 KHS club was something special.

Dawg I usually respect your opinion but your evaluating this club with your heart and not your head.Look at your matchups here position by position.The 07 club was night and day better than this group and alot bigger.I've seen this years club several times and they just don't shoot the ball very well.Kountze has always beat people with a tough full court defense.The teams that handled the pressure in the past(EC-with Tramain)always played them tough.The team with Powell and Busby were state champs and this years group while pretty solid is a long way from that caliber.They do have a young club so they may grow in to that type team but they aren't there yet.

Well they don't have much of a choice I didn't say they had a choice,but they have to get there first.I meant they would be glad to get there. ;D ;D ;D
