great hard fought game by 2 pretty evenly matched teams & the stats show it. get past all the negative talk & hate by adults at high school kids & give the players the positive respect they all deserve for giving it all they had the whole game. congrats to vidor damn good team with a lot of fight & heart  & the same to Nederland. My name is Mike Hiltz & my son is #15 for Nederland & we have nothing but respect for vidor. good luck to you guys & much success rest of year.  

This game was not one for a heart patient to be at.   Dare I say it had all the ingredients of a "rivalry" game?   Sold out stadium, SRO crowd,  enthusiastic fans, lots to boo and cheer and even overtime.  I know it's not a rivalry but I'll take whatever it is!

Do you really want the Bulldogs to play like "it's just another game".  I doubt Coach Neumann is looking at it that way.  He wants to win District, and could possibly have one loss already.   Right now, PNG and MCM, are the furthest things from his mind.  He's concentrating on the Vidor Pirates, and Coach Matthews is concentrating on the Nederland Bulldogs.  Just another game?   I don't think so.

That 2011 backfield was something else, I dont see yall quite at that level, but very good no doubt.  And correct, this is not the 2011 Ned. defense, but they are solid. Question in my mind will be how Vidor handles the Nederland passing attack.  It is starting to peak.

Been quite a few years since Vidor's had a decent pass defense.  But if the Pirates control the ball, Ned won't be throwing to many passes.  One thing for sure, be plenty of black & gold.

So you're comparing blatant racism in one case to a case of protest to what is felt as racial oppression by the protesters? 
Please don't speak for all of "the rest of us" by saying those players and community took a step backwards. Look at all the vile and racist things hurled at the kids protesting. Simply proving the point of their protest.

No matter how you try so spill it, they play home and home. So next year it will be at Vidor. Then they will realign and it might be at Nederland or Vidor might get two in row. None of this 4-5 years straight business.

Same way we are playing in PNG two straight years.  It happens all the time at realignment, its not that  complicated
