OK, last post for the night. However, I'm really enjoying this....a very long time coming.
1. Jeff Mathews and the Vidor coaching staff. Great game plan and those kids were prepared to play that game. Controlled the clock and controlled the game. Kept the twins on the sideline. Anybody attempting to hire any of our coaching staff will be met with a volley from our deer rifles (there's one in every pickup).
2. Our Offensive Line. We only gave up like 30+ lbs. per man but our execution was flawless. They have been the unsung heroes of this season. Remind me of PNG from the 70s.
3. Crosby's defensive coordinator. ???
4. Heart. We flat out played them. They didn't lose the game, we won it. We CREATED the turnovers and frustrated the heck out of their offense. Blitzing that quarterback was the right call. Our defense has stepped up all season and refused to quit. There is no doubt those Walter kids can flat out play but our kids wanted this way more.
5. Finally and most importantly, the fans of Southeast Texas. There was 6000+ (?) on our side and it was crazy!!! In my wildest dreams I would have never expected this. The Crosby side may have had 200 max. I believe there were more Dayton fans there than Cougars. I'm sorry, but this is a playoff game and it's less than an hour's drive from here, I do it all the time. I really felt sorry for their kids. No one will be able to explain to me how you can't support your team especially if you have a child on the field. I know my Pirates felt the electricity in the air and it motivated them to play their best. Thank you again SE Texas.

I agree with you doesn't seem that biased at all. 1-3. Honestly the loss of 47 destroyed the gameplan and they didn't adjust at half time.

We had well over 200 fans that's a huge stadium, but it wasn't the normal showing mainly because a huge core of our fans work shift work, and can't go watch a football game on a Thursday night, unless they have a kid.

Also don't kid yourself you had a ton of 19-4a on your side as well, tons of blue on your side of the crowd, plenty of purple. And nederland in black. It's easy to say "why didn't you travel?" but it was a Thursday night at 7:30 with an hour car trip home, i highly doubt Vidor would have had a third of the crowd they did if we would have played this game in Deerpark

I disagree.  Vidor fans have always packed the stands, even at 0-10, no matter how far we had to travel.
2. I resent it totally and completely and I do not think I will ever forget it.  I am from Vidor and in my travels (didn't stay there after graduating high school), I was often embarrassed to say where I went to high school.  People everywhere have heard of Vidor, TX (thanks to CNN and Montell Williams) and you should see the looks people give you when they find out where you are from.

It hurts to be judged to be racist when you're not and never have been.  My husband is black.  The thing is, living in Beaumont now, I still get the racism thing from people.  It happens less and less, but it still happens.

When the community gets together like this, it does really make you feel good though.  Maybe the people that truly matter are the ones who know that the people of Vidor now most likely had nothing to do with the past.

Discrimination of any kind is wrong.  The Crosby school board should be ashamed of themselves, but I doubt they are.

Hear Hear thanks to all that came out and got a look first hand at our team.... This team has been up against the wall all year long.... each week we hear how we can't handle their teams offense and how their defense is going to shut Vidor down.... and all year long Vidor has been proving them wrong.... You can not believe the pride I have when I get on here and see doubters becoming believers after they have seen this team with their own eyes and see how much this team plays with heart, determination and true grit!!! I have lived in Vidor for most of life and I can say hands down this team plays as a unit better than any team i have seen before.... But the proudest thing i can say is that this team and fans has changed the way Vidor is seen on a broad spectrum.... I want to thank each and every one who came to the game last night that was not a PIRATE and supported us.... the ones I seen were PN-G, Nederland, LC-M, Dayton, Ozen, WB, and Central.... I know there were probably more but these were just the ones I seen or talked to.... I tried to thank each one as they passed me on the walk way.... It makes be a Vidorian very special in my eyes when people will actually get out and meet the people of Vidor and understand the cloud that hovers over our town isn't the actual spirit of our town.... again THANK YOU for seeing us with open eyes and open hearts!!!!!!

RIP #28 I LOVE YOU NEPHEW!!!!!!!!

Week before last you mean?  I wasn't there, so I didn't have to puncture my ear drums with a blunt object. :)

So talking to Coach Mathews isn't credible? Has anyone else picked up the phone and talked to him? Just curious. We apologize for the misprint on the time, which has been corrected online.
If, IF, Bollinger plays he will be far from 100%. It is 95% certain Bollinger will not play.

Sorry, the Orange Leader is not a credible news source.  It never has been and never will be.  And anyone who has ever worked for that "paper" is not credible either.

Vidor.  I know two things about Vidor.

1.  Your Burger King gave me dookie problems.
2.  You will be shooting free throws very soon.

.....and the Market Basket smells like a microwaved jockstrap. Just sayin...

Yeah, it was much better as Price Lo and I wouldn't eat at that BK for all the money in the world.
