  1. I think the decline will continue until they put RULES back into basketball.  People just maul each other on the court--no poise, discipline, finese, etc: The officiating let's anything go in a basic free-for-all! Good basketball was fun when it was not characterized by dozens of blatant fouling happening that is NOT CALLED BY THE OFFICIALS.
  2. Oh, I think my statement is quite accurate; a 3-0 win was a good win judging as to how the tables turned at the end of the year in BC's favor.  BC worked real hard to get to this point. ...And yet to be able to get even a one set win against the Regional Champion was a respectable statement for such a short and young constantly proportionally-improving well coached team. :D The numbers speak for themselves when you realize that Caldwell was head-and-shoulders better than anyone in this 21-3A District.
  3. Well put me down for a "homer" too! lol Yes BC loses just one great Senior; however, the remainder of the short-girls will be back.  They will be fortified with a couple of taller Sophomores that will help out.  I guarantee you...you will know all about "Hannah" on the BC front line by mid-season ::) Yes, BC lost it(District Champs) in the 5th & final set against H-F when they led 14-12 and did not put it away.  I think they win it all because the short girls just got better and better as the season progressed in the past season...EX: At the end of the season they just dominated OF in a 3-0 second game of the year.  In the playoffs they dominated Huffman-Hargrave who tied for second in a stiff-22-3A District setting. They even, hung-in-there, against Caldwell in a respectable outing against the Region III Champion-to be:  while others had quick outs. Yes I am also a homer and feel this group of shorter people have not topped out as a team this previous season, at all.  lol
  4. I kind of had a problem with this-- Poth had 16 girls 5' 7" on to FOUR above 6' 1"...it seems that a lot of the winners had total club team year-round girls that had been grouped by the parent in HSs close to big cities: just to win State Tourneys! I enjoyed the overall State Tourney once again but do not think I will go back; unless a local team makes it that far. I watched BC beat Caldwell(a rural town) in just one set which the rest of Region III teams could not accomplish--yet at the State Tourney... Lucas Lovejoy just totally dominated 3ACaldwell in 3 games; with a whole team of assembled giant Club year-round players--packed together intentionally by Club parents. I don't think there is anything that can be done if they rent a cheap hovel or trailer and use the "address" as the home address for that student. Comments?
  5. Coach 24: Look down on the bottom left-hand side where it says 2A Academic All-Stars and click on it.....then go to the lasts column on the new page that pops up and under Warren Miss Hatton is listed as a 2A recipient. A big congrats to the Orange County girls that won this important award!..  and of course all the rest.. lol
  6. Seahawks Fan:  Thank you for the sharing of information on here!  People support that they help build.... We need a big interested local support group to help be spark-plugs in getting the story told of Seahawk JUCO softball. I was there for part of the Tryouts and was impressed with the girls that took the time to participate.  I saw one Select Coach with his right-age girls really having a good time.  That is a start  ;D I envision HS SB Coaches and Select Coaching will be bringing there stars to these Open events in abundance in a few years. Talk it up folks.  The games are really fun to watch!
  7. Same three, I believe BC wins the District led by a group of seasoned Seniors.  But it will again be close...
  8. Can someone give us a summation of the Dec. 12th Open Tryout results?  New Pitching prospects?
  9. Agreed, Lufkin Hudson will be much improved; however, at this point I don't think they are of the caliber of the teams listed---the following year  LOOK OUT    lol
  10. I think this is a good discussion for all to ponder.  I went to Parkland's HS Graduation one time at the Lake Charles Civic Center.  I was blown away 800+ in cap and gowns!  The fantastic speaker's were all Doctor's and other Professional people WHO WERE HS GRADS FROM HOMESCHOOLING.
  11. I see no problem, the big Parkland home school originating in Sulphur, LA has all kinds of team sport activities. Home schools do a lot of group activities--concerts, attend college games, go out to dine, play all kinds of sports.  They are expanding team sports across the USA at this time. Have you looked at their academic GP levels when they attend college, they are exceptional!
  12. I looked back an see folks from areas far from SE TX wanting to be on the assorted Polls. I THINK THE MANAGEMENT OF THIS SITE OUGHT TO DETERMINE WHICH COUNTIES WILL BE CONSIDERED FOR POLLS & RANKINGS. It seems that folks many miles away from SETX are-- hurt-- because a team in posted there, way to the East & gets ranked.  Specific counties only-- as determining territorial  requirements would solve this on- going dilemma. Comments from site Management Please Thank you

  17. We are planning on going up to see- 1A Bronte and 3A Caldwell on Friday and also the whole day of Championship games on Saturday. Anyone else going? Does anyone know if the games will be broadcast on the Internet somewhere, for others? [Hidden Content]
  18. Red Pepper always makes a lot of good comments--yet people smite her/him  LOL ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Will Caldwell our Region III champ win state? Comments?
  19. Caldwell wins Region III....Looks like they will again face Lucas Lovejoy in the State Tourney.....They lost to them last year and L L was the State Champion. Maybe BC did not do so bad hanging tough with the Hornets in the games up at Willis  LOL
  20. Mexia edged out Cameron Yoe..... Caldwell swept Carthage 3-0 I am picking Caldwell to represent Region III with a 3-1 win over Mexia..
  21. Who was the MVP?  someone, please The paper that I take did not cover this article--would someone mature be so kind as to post the results so we can congratulate the winners across 21-3A
