  1. It will be a good game.  My Trojans just got their 1st win of the season last week over Warren 60-0.  It was a momentum builder heading into this big game.  This is tough to call because my heart is with the Coldspring Trojans but I think that the Kirbyville Wildcats are going to come out firing on all cylinders.  It will be a close game and which team has the ball last will win. Coldspring needs to bring a defensive presence that has been missing all season if they are going to compete with the Wildcats on Friday night.

    Prediction

    Kirbyville 21

    Coldspring 19

  2. Congrats to the Woodville Eagles!! I am happy for the Eagles they are surely a great team!!  The Coldspring Trojans are new to the district we dropped down a classification.  We might now win our 7th consecutive district title because the Woodville Eagles are a step ahead of us right now.  My hats are off the Woodville Eagles and Kirbyville Wildcats to supreme football programs have nothing but respect for both of these programs.  I must fellow bloggers everyone had better take notice of the Woodville Eagles, this team is the real deal.  I feel you have to take a mental note of this team, they are legitimately contenders to make a long playoff run.

  3. Sounds like it was a good game.  First at IDK I do owe the bloggers an apology this blog was about shepherd vs. liberty.  So I am new to the blogging experience so I am sorry for the coldspring vs. shepherd comment.  Second, at IDK you were right regarding some of the statements you said and I will leave it at that. I will have to learn how to formulate my own blog regarding the Trojans problems, as I stated earlier, I am new to the blogging game, I am learning the netetiquette of blogging.  So I did not mean any harm if I offended IDK. IDK is a senior member and I don't want to be blocked from blogging on this site.  So please accept my apologies.

Now to the game.  It was a great statement win for Liberty.  It was a good game for shepherd as well.  I think shepherd finally played a team this year that could match up with them on both sides of the ball.  I think both of these teams are primed for  good district performances and will have great post season runs

  4. Hello fellow sports writers and bloggers.  This Trojan Mojo checking in.  This will be a long year for the Trojans!!! :((.  I went to my 1st game of the season and for the 1st time ever since being a baby Trojan I left at halftime.  At that juncture in the game, we were down 12-0.  Coldspring has never looked this horrible as a team.  I am from Coldpsring not trashing my Trojans but being as real as I can be.  This is my synopsis of the team.

The natives are restless change must occur.  First, a change has to be made at QB.  The QB is too short and not mobile enough as past QB for the Trojans.  I am not about bashing any kid, but the QB could be utilized may in some 3rd down options.  Second, I saw that the offense line was not blocking for the run game.  I saw a lot of basic fundamental skills that were lacking which should have been addressed in 2 a days.  Second, the defense could not read the QB from Crockett at all.  The score should have been worse that it was a halftime, the receivers from Crockett just missed catching some balls.  The defense cannot stop the run.  The players are underclassmen so I am not going to bash these young men, that would be classless.  Third, the kids do not seem to have that Trojan Mojo, T-Dog mentality, or Do right attitude of pass Coldspring Trojans teams.  We had a couple of good runs that were negated by stupid penalties from the players losing their cool.

I was very unimpressed with the part of the game, I saw last night.  The natives are restless in Trojanland, I guess we are spoiled by having such a winning tradition in Friday night lights.  Second, there seems to be a disconnect between the coaching staff and the fans.  For the 1st time in a long time, there were empty seats on the bleachers.  The Trojans games are usually standing room only, we are the small time version of Friday night lights (Odessa Permian style).  There could have been seats due to the fact we were having our local fair, but the overall morale of the fans there was low spirited.  I am going to support these young men regardless bc they do have a lot of pressure and hype to live up to. Third, change is not always good and that is all I can say on that matter.  The one morsel of hope I saw is that there are a lot of underclassmen on the team and they should be improved next year.

Sorry for the long blog, just had a lot to say look forward to your input and engaging blogs as well.

  5. I am predicting liberty in a close game.

    Liberty 28

    Shepherd 24

TexasPanther2012, I agree with the statement you just blogged.  I am from Coldspring. We have to get our things worked out before district.  This blog is about Liberty vs.  Shepherd so let me stick to that topic.  Shepherd has been a bit "cocky" per say since beating us.  This game tonight will be a true test of what the Pirates and Panthers are made of.  I believe that Liberty will win this one in a close game,  Shepherd has not really been tested so far in the season.  I think that Liberty has the overall better team and will find a way to win when the game is on the line.  I Coldspring Trojan forever but I think that our loss to the Shepherd Pirates, has boosted their egos a little too much.  I am not hating on them in anyway, bc the head coach Miles Robinson and assitant Ben Goffney are fellow Coldspring Alumunus.  This game will reveal weakness that may not have been see in prior games for them defensively I believe.

Sounds like a barn burner.  I will post updates.  I am so liking this forum glad I joined.  Good luck Panthers from a Trojan

  6. I agree with you @setxnative96 the Coldspring Trojans do not have nearly as much talent as in the past.  This year team consists of many sophomores and some juniors who have limited if any varsity experience.  I am a native of Coldspring & this is one of the smallest varsity teams every compiled.  The change in head coaches has had more of an impact than many anticipated but there have been a numerous amount of football players who did not play.

I hope that the young Coldspring Trojans can obtain a win when they return to play on September 23, 2000 vs. Crockett Bulldogs

  7. I am flabbergasted my Coldspring Trojans are 0-2 to start the season.  I know we have a young team and we have to take the bumps, and bruises, but both of these losses were winnable games.  I am starting to questions some of the coaching decision made in the last 2 games. I am aware that our team consists of a large number of under classmen and some upper classmen that have seen limited playing time.    I am going to reserve my opinion until I am able to see Coldspring Trojans play personally.  I am RN so therefore saving lives takes the 1 priority on my to do list and working 12 hour shifts & trying to attend games it is just not feasible.  I will be there in 2 weeks when we play Crockett at home then I will get a better pic of how our season will unfold.  I am glad we have a bye next week, the kids need a break & need to regroup.  The coaching staff needs to work some kinks out in their game plan.

Thanks again for allowing me to participate on this blog.  You all are an awesome group of individuals and have an outstanding day.  I look forward to your feedback.

  8. Shepherd has always had a plethora of great athletes who received the opportunity to play on the collegiate level. Maybe you can help me tigerheart, there was a young man who graduated this past spring I cannot remember his name but he was all state in football.  He also placed 4th in the shot put in the state track & field meet.

I am always happy and proud to see any student come from small places such as Coldspring, Shepherd, Kountze, Silsbee, Kirbyville, and other schools excel.  I like the student-athletes who excel academically and athletically.

  9. Hello tigerheart, perhaps you are correct, there was a period in the early 2000's that were a lull of a team.  My godsister graduated in 2003 and I remember they lost that particular year.  Maybe they did lose consecutive years I do not recall us ever losing to Shepherd 2 straight years.  That seems unfathoable!! But tigerheart thanks for info that I was not aware of

  10. Hi ladies and gentleman I am new to this blog.  I always read the blogs they seem real interesting so I decided to join. Take it easy on me and let me know if I do not use etiquette. I can get pretty fired up about high school football. Especially my home town Coldspring Trojans.
With that being said hello everyone.

Clearly without a doubt the Trojans got totally outcoached in the 2nd half.  I do not know if you guys know it or not but the head coach Miles Robinson '94 and assistant coach Benjamin Goffney '91 are alumnus of Coldspring.  These guys know your system back and forth. I along with all of Coldsprings are sick to our stomach over this lost.  The 1st time in 13 years the Battle of San Jacinto trophy leaves Coldspring.

Well I guess all good things must come to an end soon or later (:.  I am truly not happy about this crushing defeat to start the season.  We need new defensive stratgies in place immediately.

Hate to lose but at least it was to our neighbors to south of us Shepherd Pirates.  Hats of to the Pirates they wanted it more.  Congrats to Miles Robinson and Benjamin Goffney, may you have a great season going forward.  I am Trojan fan that will be rooting for these 2 alumnus and the Shepherd Pirates.
