  1. Easy I went to Lee for a year. 8) Hey I hung around there for like 3 years! Where do you think I learned how to spell defiantely, LOL!
  2. Whoever came up with that .48 defiantely attended Lee College!
  3. No ducking my friend ;D Dayton went on a growing streak and left BH in 1A. The two schools have not played because of the classification and size ,but now BH is grow at such a rate that they will be much larger than Dayton in the next 4 to 6 years possible going to 5A in 10 where we can finially start whooping up on Port Aurther again ;D That is if yall are not 1A by then :'( That won't be that much larger, Dayton is growing as well at fairly steady pace, a controlable one anyway. Plus I do not want to hear about ya'lls Jr High teams, Lumberton used that excuse for 40 years. Anyway we will see what we see, but again I will take my chances with Stewart anytime!
  4. I kind of have this feeling that they may come into this District the same way Dayton came into 21 4A. Everyone knows they are good, just how good may shock some folks. It will be interesting to see what unfolds, but I see the Lions in top 3 at least.
  5. Unless Dayton suites up the deaf and blind I will take Jerry Stewart over the Hill, and maybe even then!
  6. I feel strongly that if not staying internally, that it will be one of these two coaches. Most everyone I have talked to is rooting for one or the other.
  7. If anyone would be interested in doing a fishing/ outdoors report for the Free Press let me know. I am in big need here. Paymaent is available.
  8. Look for a decision on Monday evening! Also if anyone wants some interesting reading Google Glen Tunstall (Palestine), one of the finalists.
  9. Dayton not being in the coaches poll I believe continues the childish dislike that a lot of programs have for Dayton. There is a lot of disrespect out there and it is a darn shame.
  10. So you know that this bunch is over confident, that is amazing that you would know that. Russell dont worry about us over here in dayton you just stick to diboll. Allow me to elaborate on what I was saying, because it is apparent I was unclear. I did not accuse them of being over confident, I meant they need to keep them from being over confident. SO I will stick to Dayton, Diboll and Dallas if I feel like it.
  11. I'm going mid-ninties on this one. 19-4A (This was the good ol days, yeah we were losing in Big D, but it was good times!) Dayton Cleveland Silsbee Jasper Livingtson New Caney
  12. The coaches had best reign this bunch in and keep that over confidence down. Crosby is sitting there ready to puch us in the face otherwise.
  13. Okay, 8-8 All-Time, just as I thought not that many meetings. Alright so my plan is after Dayton wins the next two season and increases the record to 10-8 we call it a series and never play again. Any thoughts, LOL?
  14. Can someone come up with a complete head to head of these two? I just do not figure it could have been that many games.
  15. This is a fantastic thing, but will this force the 4A to seek an option on its own else where, or is it possible for a Houston contest as well?
  16. Am I the only one who really does not get this supposed rivalry? Its Barbers Hill, oh well. I am way more excited when we hook it up with Crosby, and Lord knows the game any real old Dayton Bronco looks forward to someday is against Liberty. I know Mike George is getting all excited, but I just don't feel it. With that said Dayton by 35!
  17. There were over 40 applicants. Here are the finalists: Terry Johnson (Diboll Asst Head Football Coach and former Head Baseball Coach) Wayne Mahaffey (Former Rusk AD) Paul Essary (Deer Park) Glen Tunstall (Palestine) Paul Walker (Crosby Asst Head Coach) Tom Shepherd (Tatum defensive coordinator) Alto Head Coach did apply for the position, but has since removed his name from the conversation.
  18. I am well aware of what nepotism is, and how Texas clssifies it. I am just telling you that in this instance it did not apply.
  19. That is actually incorrect, and I can tell you that in 1,100 plus Texas ISD's it has happen in one form or another. Wives, Husbands, Sons, Daughters, Brothers and Sisters working under relatives.
  20. I can confirm that Coach Gary Martel's brother is not a candidate for the position in Diboll. The job was officially posted June 17 and will be up for 10 days. Candidates are already begining to take shape and one will be named very soon (not today or tomorrow soon). Martel is really excited about his new position and is looking forward to getting the Football Coach in here and then allowing them to hit the ground running. Again I will have complete information for you come Wednesday.
  21. Oh this should be fun! I will make certain Diboll victory photos are online right after the game! 22. Check out www.dibollfreepress.com on Wednesday and I will have the most updated info I can provide on the search. I will get as nuch as I can that can go to print.
  23. I apologize on my scoring error, none the less a fluke! As for your error, I will post the new schedule of the 7-on-7 Tourney in Lufkin when I am at my office. Until then you can be assured the Jacks will be on Field 3 at 9:00 a.m. awaiting the Raiders! Actually, that FLUKE you're talking about was 8-7 not 7-6. It was actually a fluke that they didn't get beat atleast 2 more TD's. They got beat by a very good team that finished the season at 11-2 and made it to the 3rd round of the playoffs. I don't know what schedule you're looking at but I found another schedule for the Lufkin tournament and Dibol and Cleveland are nowhere to be found. Lumberton is in Pool B with Kingwood, Weslaco, Klein Collins.
