  1. I don't know how many of you witnessed the Diboll vs. Jasper game, but if Diboll had not played the worst second half of football imaginable it would have been pretty close on the outcome.
  2. I got confused and thought we were talking about Jazz Hands, run off band directors and that dang Goffer from caddy shack for a minute there, my bad! Dayton 51-CE King 20
  3. Oh that would be fun to see Big D get a hold of Lumberton in the postseason.
  4. I will load some pics of Dayton and Diboll facilities after my work computer is fixed this afternoon. Can't access them right now.
  5. Jacks should be settled down and their late showing in last weeks game will hopefully be seen for 4 quarters this weekend. Jacks by 14!
  6. OH BABY THAT WOULD BE GREAT!!!! A rivalry that goes a long long way back and it never should have ended. I would love it!!!
  7. Sorry Mike, but you are incorrect! Dayton and Liberty went on to play one another for 4 seasons after 1985. The final Dayton vs. Liberty contest took place in 1989. The Broncos won three of those four contests. Not sure where you got that info, but I can give you what I have.
  8. As a Coog I am pumped especially stealing one from TCU!!! Sold on UH, Dugat set for Broncs By Dave Rogers Published August 6, 2008 DAYTON – A.J. Dugat can’t seem to quit smiling. That’s how happy he is about his decision to play football for the University of Houston. Last spring, Dugat announced he was going to sign with TCU, but new UH head coach Kevin Sumlin and his staff changed that. “I like it because it’s close to home, and because I like their new offensive coordinator,†said Dugat, a 6-foot, 195-pound receiver-cornerback. First, though, Dugat has plenty of catches to make for the Broncos, who are coming off an 11-4 season in 2007. Dugat caught 72 passes for 1,028 yards and five touchdowns a year ago. He also started at quarterback and running back, rushing for 536 yards and seven touchdowns, passing for 463 yards and five more scores. The Broncos have bluechip quarterback Cody Green back after missing the final 13 of his team’s games last year with a broken leg. Coach Jerry Stewart’s big concern is finding some more playmakers to take the pressure off Dugat. That much was expected after the season ended last December with a loss to eventual state champion Lake Travis. Unexpected was the hole Stewart suddenly finds in his defense. Five of Dayton’s six returning defensive starters were permanently kicked off the team last week, the coach said, after being involved in an incident at school. “It’s hard to replace five guys that have played in 20 to 30 games each,†Stewart said, “but that’s what the other kids practice for.â€
  9. There is no doubt it helps to build a closer group of players that really can serve as core leaders come the fall. It also keeps them all active and that never hurts, but that s pretty much where it ends/
  10. Victor Payne was not to shabby! I have also heard of some old 30s-40s Bulldogs that were pretty good.
  11. Well, they are building a second district stadium and a bunch of new schools. Maybe their trying offset some money issues. I paid Katy ISD school taxes for 3 years and let me tell you this area doesn't know high taxes. Try paying $6,700 a year for all taxes on a $170,000 house plus $1,000 a year for HOA dues. It's crazy. I'm glad I came back home I find it to be absurd to the inth degree! Did anyone see the report on the over abundance of money that the Katy ISD schools have in Booster Club funds? I point to this as it is not legal to carry balances in these funds. This is just absurd!
  12. Gas prices my butt! How hard is it to travel to your in town stadium, the same one all 6 district schools use, and each team plays at least six games a year in? Is this a Katy Tigers price change, or a district change? Either way it is ridiculous and it sounds more like a pretentious Katy Tiger scam!
  13. I have Diboll winning this one, came just short last year and they should get pretty dang far at least!
  14. Kirbyville has some talent and I gave them a No. 4 spot, because they can avoid having to actually play those schools, however I am hoping to see Diboll knock them off of their block in the early going this year.
  15. 1. Dayton 2. Westbrook 3. West Orange Stark 4. Kirbyville 5. Central 6. Nederland 7. Livingston 8. Newton 9. Memorial 10. PNG On Jasper, well they are in a district that I feel strongly will be the most fun to watch over the season. The top three schools are very evenly matched (Jasper, Diboll and Carthage), however I am not sure how far any of them goes in the postseason. I believe they all have the talent for a long haul, but I have some questions that will hopefully get answered before district play begins. The QBs from each school are going to make this thing fun!
  16. I got an opportunity to drive by and look first hand thiss weekend, looks nice! We are begining to have some great facilities all over Southeast Texas.
  17. I can tell you losing in anything in Jasper and riding that bus back to Dayton was painful! I felt bad for Jasper. That must have been a long drive to New Caney.
  18. He's a Redskin and I love my Redskins, I say it is real all the way!!!!
  19. I have been so excited about Cody for a while now, I am very excited about the prospect of a great kid from Dayton taking his talents to the bigtime level. What a year it is going to be!
  20. Oh yeah, this must mean we get to see Worthing High School's Undertaker beat him again doesn't it?
