Because I have begun those calculations: So remember, WO-S has lost 98 since opening up, so the magic number is 196. While I am by no means done, in fact, I am quite early in the process. I have excluded West Brook, Port Arthur Memorial, Goose Creek Memorial and Beaumont United as they were opened after 1977. But here is what I have found so far. Newton who has taken home as many titles as WO-S in that time, has only 107. Crosby has 180. PN-G has 191. Dayton has 186. Jasper has 150 Coldspring-Oakhurst has 175. Woodville has 188. East Chambers has 189. Corrigan-Camden has 153.

The difficulty would be on a couple of fronts even if there is no official agreement between the school and KOGT. First, we are partners with Gary Stelly and KOGT and don't want to appear to be poaching the schools he broadcasts even if he is not carrying their game that particular week. So, while we could explore that and that decision is ultimately not mine, I would certainly want Gary consulted before we go down that road. Second, after district play begins, the KOGT schedule is quite fluid. At that point, aside from the BC/LC-M game, is usually decided on how game the big is for a particular school.

Greg Hill, Ernest Anderson, Kevin Smith, Chris Cole, Earl Thomas and now Deionte Thompson in the NFL along with Deon Beasley and Mark Roberts in the CFL. You're right, WO-S has enjoyed the luxury of some great coaches: Steve McCarty, Dan Hooks and Cornel Thompson. They have also enjoyed a fan base that let's the coaches coach and doesn't have some idiot going on a message board and questioning the coaching credentials of the coach at their school, simply since he doesn't like that coach, on a regular basis.

Soulja's right. It is an issue. And some school districts are harder than others to get that sponsorship. So that is why it is incumbent that if you want to have your team broadcast, then you speak up now to give us time to get it. Otherwise, there is no indication now that they'll receive any support to warrant businesses to sponsor. Of course, we will have our standards as we will have Newton Eagle Football and Silsbee Tiger Football. There are also other teams that are committed to radio stations (WO-S, LC-M, Orangefield, Bridge City to KOGT; Nederland to KLVI; PN-G to Cool 92). But if the support is enough, all other options are open.

Dontre's senior year, yes. His junior year, no. i recall that Coach McGallion has so little faith in Dontre's passing game in his junior year that he would platoon him with Chase Partain with Partain playing obvious passing downs. Jeremy was much more polished in the passing game both his junior and senior years.
