Not surprised. A lot of the fields they would be looking for in the area were not tarped because they thought it wouldn't be used.
They may end up at Baseball USA over on the west side.
-
Oh, yeah, in fact Lee could be all the way up in third if Memorial has trouble grasping the spread.
-
Well, everyone in Huffman is heading up to Huntington so I see why they can't get that field.
It is not exactly dry over here in the Houston area. It is still quite cloudy. although the rain has seemed to stop.

For me that phrase is well practiced as it always seems to be the last words I utter in every conversation I have with Mrs. Grad.....whether or not it's the truth! :cry:

WOSgrad' date='
If your right that means you better make the right call on the flip of the coin if the series is tied 1-1?[/quote']
Actually, I was wrong.
Upon looking at the UIL site again, the certification deadline for bidistrict is not tonight for baseball. It is May 11. So they have until next Thursday (??) to get the games in.
Here is the link: http://www.uil.utexas.edu/athletics/baseball/index.html

Most playoff locations are tarped' date=' so if the rain holds out they will be played. If some games get in at least the 2nd game of series, the 3rd could be played Monday if needed.[/quote']
Not unless they get some sort of waiver from the UIL.

They didn't. They were 2-7 last year. Beat Kountze and Shelbyville to start off the season and then lost 7 in a row.
-
Maybe so' date=' but NO 3A team will beat BC. Sorry![/quote']
I wouldn't go that far, ESPN. Yes, BC has the talent to take it all, no doubt. But that has been the case the last couple of years, yet BC has found a way to bow out of the the playoffs earlier than it should.
Maybe it is because situations like this where folks get caught looking two series ahead of the one they are playing.
Huffman is for real. And while Jasper has great pitching (no doubt). Bagley and Listi are right in that class and lest the Bulldog batters not think so, many of them will be returning to the bench via the K.
-
According to rivals, the score was 35-16 Burkeville.

I think what has set Mid-County Madness apart from others, especially recently, is that it has been a regularly played series that has been a regularly contested. That is, it is a game played every year and every year there is no prohibitive favorite.

My picks for in 21(I still can't believe it) 5-A:
1. West Brook
2. Humble
3. Memorial
4. Kingwood
5. Baytown Lee
6. Baytown Sterling
7. Atascocita
8. Channelview

but there jv team almost lost to lumbertons freshman team
raider09, I would not throw stones at anyone else's home about football results from last year, lest you be reminded of a school by the name of Gulf Shores Academy.
I wish the Raiders well, and I hope with Coach Credeur, 2006 signals the rise of the Lumberton football program. But you must admit that recently we have heard much talk of anyone other than the mid-county or Beaumont schools doing something in the district to the point that they are joining the reports of Chicken Little and the boy who cried wolf.

Humble Atascocita will have some Talent. The key question there is Coaching?
A lot of the Memorial folks would answer that question, "No."
-
I think that qualifies as a banner year. Great job, Tigers.
-
LaMarque/WO-S in 2000. That wasn't a game...that was a slugfest. I have never seen so many young men hit and get hit so hard in my life.
-
Oh, absolutely. I agree with playing a high level of talent in pre-district.
A question, if you know, 75. Was Tarver working on next year's schedule during that period of time where he didn't know if he was going to be removed? Because my understanding is to get the opponents that you really want, you have to get on the stick pretty early. If he didn't, that may explain some of the less than savory opponents on the schedule.
-
Well, 75, with regard to BC's schedule, a few things need to be remembered:
1. 3 of BC's previous pre-district opponents, Jasper, Kirbyville and Silsbee, schools which gave BC a pretty good degree of difficulty on their schedule, are now district opponents and are no longer options for pre-district opponents;
2. Another, LC-M, lost a pre-district game due to 21-4a going to a 8-team district. Also, LC-M is now trying to ramp up its schedule, going from 3 3A opponents on it schedule to 1 (although I think BC would have prepared LC-M better for district than Kashmere);
3. Liberty looks to have been a perennial pre-district opponent;
4. If you are going to play a private school, Kelly is the one that would test you the most.
Tarver may not have had a whole bunch of other options.
