I think that any calculations with that specificity at this point would be just speculation.

Well, here is what we know. At the UIL Legislative Conference last week, Dr. Breithaupt said that "currently" the UIL was planing on 1) a full schedule with 2) an on time start and 3)full fan capacity. However, a couple of weeks before, Governor Abbott had a conference call with state FBS schools (ie, UT, A&M, etc) and stated that 50% capacity in stadiums would be as high as he is willing to go for football season. That and the UIL signaling willingness to budge off of a rule that it has rigorously defended and stuck to forever (the prohibition against video broadcasts on Friday night) indicates to me that if there are fans, it will be no more than 50% capacity.

Well, then you are gonna have to explain as I am not sure I like the connotations that your first post indicated.

I guess that, in light of Dr. Breithaupt's announcement, I must amend this answer as he announced, for this season only, the game will likely be available by video streaming. -

2020 HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL PREVIEWS DEWEYVILLE PIRATES 2019 Record: 6-5 Overall, 2-3 District 4th Place in District 12-2A-I Despite being the small dogs in District 12-2A-I, the Deweyville Pirates managed to fight their way to a playoff berth in 2019. The 2020 season brings hope for Brandon Prouse's Pirates as not only do the Pirates return an experienced squad (seven offensive starters and six starting defenders return) but they also have the luxury of now competing in District 12-2A-II where more schools are their own size. COACHING Head Coach: Brandon Prouse Assistant Coaches: Gregg Bass (Defensive Coordinator), Levi Moore (Offensive Coordinator), Brendon Waldrep (Offensive and Defensive Backs), Matthew Watkins (Offensive and Defensive Backs), Jacob Cook (Offensive and Defensive Line) OFFENSE Seven starters return to the Deweyville Slot-T offense in 2020. We have been doing this for 4 years during the playoffs and I have never had a coach or AD refuse us.
-
Well, Soulja on its face, SETXsports.com broadcasts should not be effected as folks need to remember that the context that "broadcast", as it is being used today, is video broadcast. We have not done that and, as far as I know, there were no plans for us to do that in 2020 for football. Now, will guidelines like getting permission from both schools affect us if they are extended to audio broadcasts? Not really. It is probably known to few, but the UIL has required of broadcasters, both video and audio, to gain permission of both schools for any playoff broadcast for the last 4 years so we have a system down pat to gain those should we be required to so and those who have been involved with broadcasting during that time, like Legacy, Texan Live, KOGT, KLVI, Cool 92.5 and The Eagle have as well. As to concerns, there are many questions on how this will ultimately be implemented, so I'll reserve further comment until I see the UIL's final guidelines.

Dr. Charles Breithaupt has just announced that for the 2020 only that video broadcast of Friday night football games will be allowed. From Matt Stepp: "BREAKING contingent upon a 2020 #txhsfb season the UIL WILL lift the Friday night live broadcast ban during the regular season.... This will be for 2020, both schools must agree to the broadcast...Dr. Breithaupt says they want to protect Friday night, but this yr is an exception"

2020 HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL PREVIEWS NEWTON EAGLES 2019 Record: 11-2 Overall, 5-0 District Class 3A, Division II, Region III Semifinalists An 11-2 season and 5-0 district slate is usually cause for celebration, but when you are in Newton, TX and you are coming off of back to back state championships, anything less than a district title is kind of a disappointment. While the goal remains the same, head coach Drew Johnston will have to do a lot of reloading as only three offensive starters and two starting defenders return. COACHING Head Coach: Drew Johnston Assistant Coaches: Tabor Westbrook (Offensive Coordinator), Jeremy Russell (Defensive Coordinator), Jeff Parks (Running Backs), Chase Copeland (Offensive Line), Doug Samples (Wide Receivers), James Gulley (Tight Ends), Jason Hicks (Defensive Line/Outside Linebackers), Doug Casper (Defensive Line), Corey Jenkins (Linebackers) OFFENSE Three starters return to the Newton offense in 2020. Returning to guide the offense will be senior quarterback Nate Williams (1st team all-district, 60-119, 976 yd, 9 TD). De Anthony Gatson (12-3A-II Offensive Newcomer of the Year, 167 carries, 1732 yd, 29 TD) returns to pace the Eagle rushing attack with junior Trinis Wash and Zah'Dyn Brooks. Brooks will also be counted on to line up out wide and lead the Newton receiver corp. Senior offensive tackle Brice Westbrook (1st team all-district pick who may see time at tight end) will lead an offensive line which will also feature Destin Jackson and Cole Casper. DEFENSE Only two starters return to the Newton 7 Diamond defense. Senior defensive end Dre Shawn Spikes (12-3A-II Defensive Co-MVP in 2019) will lead a defensive line along with Jackson and junior defensive end Antjuan Weaver. Senior Robbie Phillips (1st team all-district) will team with junior Coltyn Foster at linebacker. Wash and Malick Wood will anchor the Newton secondary. Well, the answer to the first part of that question might have to be amended sometime tomorrow. @Matt_Stepp817 One item the UIL is discussing tomorrow is lifting the Friday night live broadcast ban for 2020...I personally support this: #txhsfb -

Nothing dumb about it at all. Will the game be televised this year? At this point no. Many have called upon the UIL to loosen he rules against showing video broadcast or video streams or Friday night games in light of playing games in front of no fans or a limited number of fans, but as of yet the UIL has not relented on this and I have seen no indication from state sources that the UIL is considering it at this point. Now, if we get closer to the season this stance may be reconsidered as I have always been told that the rationale behind the Friday night prohibition is to convince more folks to go watch the games instead of staying home and watching it on TV or online. So logic would dictate that if there are no fans in the stands allowed, that there is no reason for this prohibition to be in place this season. But we will see. Now at to listening to Mid-County madness. Both Nederland....broadcasted by KLVI......and PN-G......broadcasted by Cool 92.5 FM....have radio broadcasts. And both do have internet websites: KVLI: [Hidden Content] Cool 92.5: [Hidden Content] Plus, as both are iheart stations, they can be reached through the iheart radio app which can be downloaded from either Google Play or the Apps store. As to satellite radio, I am not aware that either have a Sirius XM channel. -
Due to COVID-19, the company that brought the game together cancelled this one and another game that was going to involve Shadow Creek and St. Joseph's prep out on Pennsylvania. North Shore and Shadow Creek are reportedly in talks about facing each other during Week 1.

Actually, I remember feeling many times that night that I wouldn't be. I thought the 'Stangs had had it when they botched the snap on an FG and fumbled it around. I fully thought a Bulldog was gonna pick that up and house it. -
9 straight regional finals appearances, 4 state championship game appearances, 2 state championships. Yeah, it's the coaching.

You're gonna have to take that up with the UIL. LOL! But I do miss Bellville in our area. Coach Rowe was always very accessible.
