The way my crew and chapter interpret the rule is you can't audibilize when running a trick play. If someone was saying "that's not the right ball" or something along those lines we would flag it. I called one where the offense's coaches all yelled REVERSE right as the QB faked a hand off to the WR and went around the corner for a long gain because the defense bit on the reverse.
