Jasper's big problem is that they get 7-4A-II right off the bat in the playoffs and that is a pretty tough way to start.

I am sure that the folks in Kirbyville have their own reasons and are apparently petitioning the Kirbyville CISD board (officially this time, none of that change.org crap that was going around) for the removal of both superintendent Wallis and assistant superintendent May. As to me, do I believe that anything done will lead to criminal charges and/or conviction? No. Do I think that anything was done that would leave Wallis, May or the school district liable under civil law? Again, no. However, for me, and this is for me alone, when the superintendent was not up front with the public (in fact, the truth is that he flat out lied) about the true nature of the meeting and that, contrary to what he told the media, at the meeting there was pressure to resign, that set off bells. In fact, it was more he just left out a few details, he was not truthful at all. This is not some media manufactured scandal like the Trump/Russia crap that the MSM is trying to shove down out throats. Any wounds that Wallis suffers from this saga are self inflicted. The former employee of the law field leads me to believe he is concealing something much more severe. I am sure that in questioning folks, you have had those bells go off as well. And as I did and you do, when you are left with the impression that something is being covered up, you dig for more answers as to what he is hiding. And guess what, a local TV reporter who feels he has been lied to is going to do the same thing. In fact, the reporter will probably use that as the impetus to dig even more vigorously than ever. To me, the continual news reports are, at least in some part, tied to that. MSM and even local reporters are pretty combative these days when they are told the truth........you lie to them and it is ON! Quite frankly, they probably won't stop until Wallis and May leave their positions, whether through termination or resignation. Perhaps not even then. They are still hot on the heels of Carrol Thomas, and it has been about three years since he left BISD.

Hey Matt. I noticed that College Station had an asterisk by its name and the asterisk said that they cannot advance past pool play. Why is that?

Katy? Did you move again?

Yes, they lose some but have stud starters returning in key positions, an all-district quarterback and wide receiver, some experience on the offensive line and some key cogs on the D-line and at linebacker.

Finish it, gentlemen!

Don't worry, you're good. As to Dayton, I share your concerns about Dayton making the playoffs. I think you can pencil in Barbers Hill and Crosby in the Top 2 spots (not sure which I have as the district champ) and New Caney at no. 3. I have the Broncs in a heck of a fight with Porter and Humble for that final spot.
-
Yeeeah, it is going to be another interesting season!
-
OK, folks. No one has to disclose their school allegiance. That being said, this topic is about Dayton. If you have a take on how the Broncos will do, fine. If the best you can do is talk trash about another and implore them to "get a life," then move on!
-
Okay, gentleman. We are getting a bit far afield here. The subject is the Dayton Broncos, not each other.
-
Does it matter? I don't think anyone who has weighed in on this thread can be classified as an "expert." He thinks the Broncos will improve....you disagree....we all got that.

But back to the issue at hand, the PN-G state tournament games now have a broadcaster.....a little entity called SETXsports.com! -

True, and that was no more evident than over the past month when Gary and Dan were rushing around to cover SIX teams in the playoffs (3 softball, 3 baseball). Orange County sports fans are lucky to have a station guy like him. -
It is y'alls second scrimmage for BC this year. (Aug 25th). Y'alls first looks like it will be a 3 team affair with you, Buna and Kelly (Aug. 18th).

I didn't see any details about Television broadcasts either on the UIL website or the Fox Sports Southwest website, I do that know there is currently no radio broadcast slated for it as slated for the 5A Games. That comes straight from Jim Barton, who is, among his considerable tasks, also UIL radio broadcast coordinator for the state tournament. -

Well, for basketball, FSSW only aired the 6A Basketball Championship game. I don't know what they will do for baseball. -
I'll think about it....... Alright, I thought about it, no.

The PN-G/Central game is in Beaumont on 10/26. A Thursday night game might draw a pretty good crowd.
