  1. everybody whos been bashing Tony really needs to show a little class. and i dont see how you can say hes the worst coach or overrated because kelly has a very strong team that competes with bigger public schools and at almost every tourny theyve had players ranking at every level, pretty much. and heres a fun fact for anybody who thinks tony isnt a good coach, im sure youve heard of Clement Whener at least a little bit, yea hes not the best player in the are but he is undeniably a good player, his first time to ever pick up a tennis racket and play was at a kelly practice. with the help of tony clement went from never playing tennis to being a good competitor at the high school varsity level against all bigger schools
  2. well seeing as Boone and Clement are playing singles in district then i dont see why they would need to be a determined doubles team...actually if they played these so called doubles gods from warren and beat them (i dont know if they did thats just hte drift i caught form garsnares comment) then they cant be that amazing because they played (and maybe lost, once again im not sure about that) a team that really isnt even a doubles team
  3. No this isnt a tryout if joes talking about the sessions we have on sundays..if he is then that would be awesome for more people to come so maybe we could have some full field games
  4. Jlamar, is a great coach and no matter if i planed on arguing with or not arguing with the Lumberton coach since Jlamar asked me to stop i am goimg to listen to him not because im a drone or brainwashed but because he is my elder, much wiser than i am and most of all he is my coach and i respect him. He lets us be who we want to be and play our game but he coaches us and shows us how to be better and so if he draws the line somewhere im not going to cross it because i listen to him because he is a smart man and a better coach.
  5. CoachL, i will not argue with you (also i really cant) because you are the coach and what you say i will believe, i didnt think about the strategy you used(thats why your a coach and im still a learning player) and that would explain a lot. So, not like you need to hear it from me, but it was a very good plan and it obviously worked. Good Luck to yall in the playoffs. And Jlamar, Yes Sir. conisder it zipped.
  6. Newcastle, well i gues i did mess up in syaing that , because there are good team in SETX anbd im sorry for jumping to conclusions and i really just meant High School Soccer and really i should of have jsut said Golden Triangle High School Teams. And lumberton and central are both two of the better teams in the area. Although i really hope they do well in the playoffs all three of the teams, but i dont see them getting that deep, but good luck anyways it would be great for yall to win not only for yourselves and your school but for the area so i wish them the best of luck. And Fernando, where have you been finally someone with a little bit of since. THANK YOU, he said exactly what ive been saying. even a lesser coach would not commit five men to anyone player
  7. First off all if he had five guys compleltely on him with another one coming that would make six, bud not five. but the only possibly way you could say he had five guys on him is if he was in the 18, because central was packing the 18, but if this is when he was being gaurded by five men, then there would be others who are gaurded by five men because when they got the ball in the 18 they become a threat and due to it being packed they also would have five men on him. LISTEN TO ME. If a team uses five of there ten field players to gaurd one man then that would leave 4 men ungaurded whitch would be completely stupid, i highly doubt the Central coaxh or players left 4 men open(unless the ball was in the box then that is really tyhe only smart, possibilty, where you could say he was being surrounded by five men.)
  8. Kelly is only losing 2 seniors and they have a great bench to fill those spots, so like it or not get ready for another year of hearing how great kelly is, i might as well start now, Kelly is the best team in SETX.
  9. Yes Central is one of the better teams in SETX but its SETX..not really a top place to play soccer in. And i did not say Matt could dribble through five players, but now that you mention it ive seen him do it but thats beside the point i said he could pick apart their defense and if your going to try and argue that Waldrup had five players on him ill stop you right there dont do it its worthless, because he never hda five player COMPLETLEY gaurding him maybe he might have had five players in his vicinity but HE DID NOT HAVE FIVE PLAYER GAURDING HIM AT ONCE, please watch whatever tape it is you can and look closely because you seem to have a little knowledge of this sport..you will see that he was never gaurded completley by five men. and if you read what i first sauid i mentioned his throughball, did i not? but if your going to argue that the first goal was set by waldrup it was not, he had a foot in it, and it was a good pass, i am saying that because he is a good player and i can see that but he is overrated. But you really cant say Waldrup completely set up the first goal if your going to credit that set-up to any one in goes to #11, i think his name is Mark Brackin, you never har about the assist to the assister
  10. I was also thinking it would be stupid for any coach to tell five of his palyers to mark one man. certainly against lumberton because they are a good team and have more players than Waldrup who can score, obviously. And in my personal opinion i dont think the Central coach is a bad coach adn he probably knows enough about the sport to know that having even three men on one man would surely spell out a loss for most any team, so once again five men completley marked on Waldrup is extremely hard to belive
  11. Nike i find that extremeley hard to believe. but please i would love to be proven wrong but i dont have a film so until i see it im gonna go with that it is a stretch to say he was COMPLETLEY marked be five men because for the most part of the game i had my eyes on Waldrup but ill admit whenever Central made a good run or were deep in Lumberton territory or even when Lumbertons #11 made his goal and the third goal that got called back, i did have my eyes off of Waldrup, so i guess if whenever the ball was on the Lumbertons defensive side if he was ACCTUALLY being marked by five poeple then, but only then i am wrong.
  12. Oh yea. and Lumertons #11 i think his name is Mark Brackin he played great. WHY HAVENT PEOPLE BEEN TALKING ABOUT HIM ASWELL? i guess i gets overshadowed by Waldrup which is the case with many great players on other teams in the area. I might be stretching on this one since ive never heard anything about him but i think he could be a very underrated soccer player.. i wish i would have seen more of his games
  13. Yes i agree totally Mark Brackin had a great game
  14. First i would like to address Nike and Soccerfan with one question..WHAT GAME WERE YOU WATCHING? at most waldrup had a steady coverage of maybe two men, and thats a huge maybe. to say six or seven men came onto him is completely asinine. And id say its going a little bit far when you say central is very good team.. for sure they have some excellent players(Fernando for example) but to be completely honest Lumberton-Central game was one of the most unexciting games ive been to in a while. The only thing that really stood out is that Lumberton looked like they wanted it more and worked harder. And Bon-Mot to answer your first question OF COURSE i would come to his defense, if i didnt i wouldnt really be a good teamate now would i. and even further im not saying this just because i am a good teamate but in all honesty Matt Kirby never played one game this year like that. In fact there are other members of the Kelly team and most likely other players in SETX who would never have a night like that. Please let me get this straight though i am not knocking the Lumberton team and im glad to see people standing up for him thats great and thats what you should do if you are a teamate or a true fan of the said person. To answer your second question yes he would have done much much more, Matt is a playmaker, in my honest opinion Matt would have had two goals by the end of that game, because Centrals defense looked to be young and inexperienced, if i could see that form the stands then Matt for sure would have been able to see that on the field(because he is a far better and smarter player than i am). Matt would have exploited the Central defensive weaknesses and dribbled through them. Further if matt was working with the Kelly team i believe that he would have had many more shots on goal and possibly more goals but thats only because he is used to playing with Kelly and as a whole team Kelly would most likey dominated either team.. because we could keep it in bounds for more than three passes in a row. Lastley, wellread i really enjoyed your post and i agree with what you said.
  15. Soccerfanatic, A center midfielders MAIN goal is to conrol the game and create scoring oppurtunites for his forwards,no matter if hes defensive or offensive center. as far as i could see Waldrup did none of this adn the way people talk aboput him he should have been able to do this at least a little on even an off night. dont get me wrong the the purpose of this post was to state the Brent Waldrup is OVERRATED not a bad player. As i saw Central was a very uneven team with good players and bad players. If Waldrup is what people say he is he would have been to run circles around that team. Dog bone, you are taking what i said out of context those are two diffrent posts. i was commenting on what i saw in that game and even as Fernando got frustrated with his team he still played better. P.S. Jlamar im sorry i didnt think to call that is my fault but instead of minute thirties could i do joeicides? you know those are my favorite.
  16. First, KFDM Coop, do you know what soccer is? Second, Dogbone how does central only having six shots on goal have anything to do with Waldrup, for the greater part of the game he was either playing forward or offensive midfield so that really does not directly affect shots on goal at all. If your going to congratulate someone congratulate the defense. Third SoccerFan, Waldrup may have scored 30 goals but against who. they have played 19 or 20 district games, most against average to really bad teams, like LCM, OZEN, PNG, WOS, HJ, these are by far NOT soccer power houses. Let's see how many goals he would score against houston teams or lousiana teams or even private school teams.
  17. shark thank you, like words right out of my own mouth (minus the stuff about fernando and kirby)
  18. im not sayiing he is horrible, he probably has good games..he is just not worth all of the hype
  19. no not at all..actually i was kinda trying to show that i wasnt jealous when i said he was better than me. i went to that game knowing that he was supposed to be some hot shot and i was thouroghly unimpressed
  20. After watching the Lum. Central game i would like to say first congrats to Lumberton, they played hard and earned that win and Second, i think Yea-Yea or Brent Waldrup could possibly be the most over-rated athlete(not just soccer) in SETX. (I know you cant judge on just one game but sorry get over it i am.) There were 3 stand-out players on the Lumberton team and Brent Waldrup was not one of them. My hat goes off to number 11(forward), 14(defender), and Scott Poole. Honestly i saw Waldrup control the ball at most 5 times and twice he passed to nobody, once he lost it (and he was not being marked), and finally i will give it to him he had ONE good through ball. Even further, Fernando was leaps and bounds better than Waldrup. When my team played them it was the beggining of the season but he didnt stand out in that game either. I really dont see how people could even agrue that he is even close to being the best player in SETX when there are people on his own team that are better than him. i understand that he MUST have had an off night tonight or better yet he was just totally shut down, but even when he is playing up to par i still dont see how he could be better than other members of his team. Now i know ive been bashing him pretty hard and i will state he is a better player than i am(not saying that like its some kind of accomplishment) but i dont see how anyone could rank him with people like Fernando or Matt Kirby.
  21. For kelly, some people would probably be Ryan Gentry, Jimmy Stone, Ryan Scheffler,(plus many other older players that i cant think of their name right now), Matt Kirby would be on there, and i think Donnie Carona and Ben Hanks would be considered as well.. But that is just for kelly im not to educated on most of the other school historys in this area. although i know for west brook Joe Fontana and Chris Bradford would be on the WB all-time team, because they are awesome
  22. alright man i wasnt trying to start a fight... i agree this is a bias forum but everyone on it is biased for the school theyre associated with, so i dont see where you were going witht the whole biased forum thing. but congrats on the goal anyway im sure it was awesome
  23. dude theres more to being a good defender than kicking the ball really far..yea it helps at times but most of the time you need to have placement or even finess with ball.
