  2. Yeah I know Texas is King - blah blah blah - Long live the King - blah blah blah - I have heard this all before. No doubt that Texas will be back as I have stated numerous times just that they will have to share the wealth of Texas players with not only A&M but also Baylor, TCU and even Houston and Texas Tech it appears. Most A&M fans I know are completely enjoying the current success that A&M has been able to obtain over what Texas has been able to obtain - but they realize that everything equals out. The only difference between what we expect and you and other Texas fans expect is that Texas fans feel the complete and total domination of the recruiting wars year in and year out by Texas is just a right that has been stolen from them. You and other Texas fans will see over the next several years that while Texas will win many of the recruiting wars so will A&M, Baylor, TCU and other Texas schools - the field has leveled Texas just better get used to it - again in my opinion.
  3. [Hidden Content] just an interesting article regarding the current strength of the SEC in attracting recruits. Most interesting paragraph was: "The recruiting of elite football players by Big 12 schools used to begin with Texas (the state) and end with Texas (the university in Austin). Looking at the last four recruiting classes, however, we see that although the talent still begins in the Lone Star State, it is increasingly ending with SEC schools." I personally agree totally with that statement. I also think it is why Texas A&M seems to get a lot of Arizona and other interest from the west coast players = closest SEC school to their hometowns.

Texas and A&M both have a lot to prove to their fans in the next few years - will be interesting who will show up first. Will love the banter on this site regardless of which team that happens to be.

  7. Seriously doubt any of the freshmen will go pro after this season as their individual stats are not all that great - but next year who knows. Daniel House is a Sr. and will be gone and Jalen Jones is also a Sr. both will be sorely missed unless another good recruiting class follows.

  9. Talking recruiting here - that was all. If you really think that Texas's only problem was at QB - you did not watch the same team play last year that I did - Texas has several holes to fill. And I still think it is quite likely that A&M will still have more consistent QB play than Texas in 2016. And also if you believe that the SEC is not a draw for young athletes at this time you do not read the comments that consistently state that the desire to play in the SEC is a motivating factor is what school that they will attend. I also disagree with the statement that "the wheels will fall off" A&M recruiting when Sumlin leaves - don't think so as the new updated facilities and the SEC will still be able to draw some top flight athletes to the program. Love the fact that Texas (5-7) is "just a QB" away from being a playoff contender with their schedule (has to be a shot at how weak you expect the Big 12 to be as Notre Dame is a tough opener and Cal beat you last year) - also this the same Texas that lost to Iowa State 24-0 with the same players that - in your words - are a playoff contender. Actually think that Baylor, Oklahoma Texas Tech and TCU might just have a little disagreement with that statement. Just glad that Texas fans are again talking NC for the Horns.
  10. Look anyone that argues that Texa ain't Money Bags is just whistling Dixie - they make the money no doubt and very likely always will. But money is not the only thing that makes the fiddle hum - and it sounds like Texas's fiddle needs to be tuned at the moment. In saying that so does the Aggie's fiddle.
  11. Agreed - Texas has and will likely continue to have the $$$$ - just don't seem all that $$$ buys now what it used to buy now does it - I mean when you talk wins and losses or so it seems.

Maybe you should read the article first - while the headline reads profits the article states " The University of Texas had the biggest profit of any program last season, earning $74 million, while the University of Michigan, which pocketed $64.6 million, was number two." Profit - very simply stated is Income less Expenses. Don't know where the difference from 74 Million in your article to the 161 Million stated below is but his is from USA Today. Texas still one of the best just spends as much as it makes it seems. Oregon it appears is just kicking ass and has by far the best "profit".   13. Fact is if Texas cannot beat Texas A&M this year in the recruiting wars then Texas fans need to really look at what is happening to their university's football program; 1. Texas A&M again ended the season with 2 bad losses; 2. A&M lost 2 QB's to transfer and the reason why still has not been really talked about or determined; 3. OC change - and with Mazzone the jury is still out; 4. Sumlin's job status is not exactly rock solid and I am sure that is being used against him on the recruiting trails. A&M has more off field issues than Texas does at this time. Fact is right now is the time for anti Ags to pour it on as A&M is having some growing pains they are having to deal with. But as Texas fans state - they don't want to be an Aggie don't let the door hit them on the butt as they leave. Hope all HS recruits go where they will be the happiest.

  17. Baylor and Houston are already there - Texas gonna have to climb a little before they can "be a premier" football school in the State of Texas: My current rankings for the state of Texas: Baylor - Houston - TCU - A&M - Texas Tech - Texas But who knows all things are subject to change.
  18. As with all coaches you have to see how they will do under the new circumstances. But he was the OC on teams that won: 10 Games in 2013 - 10 Games in 2014 - 9 Games in 2012. Not exactly the worst record for a new OC to have. Do worry about the fact that UCLA did not seem too upset that he was leaving.
  19. This is bigger than I think anyone knows - Aggie's been feeding on home cooking all year with the notable exception of the Bahama Tourney which was a neutral site. Only other away game was Arizona State which they lost soundly. Young players on a hostile court and they pulled out the win - without Daniel House - could help down the road. Hope House settles his personal issues fast.
  20. Houston won the 3 corner QB lottery. Do not know where or how Kyle Allen will fit into Houston's plans but feel he will be a beneficial part of the Cougar program - also think he is the best QB of the 3. A&M got what it needed with Trevor Knight even if he does just end up a back-up - if the article was right he is a field house leader and A&M needs that badly at the moment. Oklahoma has the biggest wildcard of the bunch as his range is from Heisman winner all the way to total flop and a fieldhouse problem. Wish them all the best and hope they all succeed in their new schools.
  21. Offense was to blame as well - went way too conservative thinking they could hold the lead. But was a great game by TCU and their back-up QB.
  22. You say tomatoe I say tomato - (Get the Bush reference?) What I read was a leader who has had some very good games and has had some on field struggles - name a QB that over 3 years really has not - that will be a very short list. The locker room leader quotes have me more impressed than the on field accomplishments or failures as not all athletes are leaders and A&M needs one at this moment in its history.

  24. Good to see the year ends as it began with Texas fans piling on the Aggie's in their year end struggles. Can't wait to see how Texas does in their bowl game ...................
