  1. Still think that Allen being hurt has to play as least a part in this decision and if hurt and lost his job - may not be fair - but I am hoping that Sumlin is keeping something close to his chest and that if Allen is indeed hurt that future playing time will be determined in the future by how he progresses with his injury and a fair competition for on field time.
  2. You may be right but I do not think so - you used USC as an example - man look at their W-L history and take out the Pete Carroll years and they actually have just an average W-L history - it kinda funny they have more NC's but also many more 6 and 7 win seasons. Texas fans think they are entitled to be the best program in the state cause they have the history and I think that in today's time that is going to be harder and harder to obtain - just like I do not think that A&M is the only "heir apparent" or team to benefit from this cause there are several but that the wealth will be spread out over several teams with Texas now just being one of them. Really that has been proven out with the more recent history as during the 80's and 90's A&M has a better W-L history than the Horns most years - then Texas came back in the 2000's and reclaimed the title - but in he 2010's Texas has taken a back seat to A&M, Baylor and TCU (some years) with really Baylor and TCU taking charge. But we can argue this all day loan and only time will tell us who is right.
  3. I agree and I am at fault here - so I am sorry. But I cannot get away without a small comment - Never said Texas would not be back just that they will have a hard time being a "perineal powerhouse" again - but only time will tell.
  4. Texas is still living of their past reputation while the last several years has not supported that argument the fact is that ALL teams still like to beat Texas. That will be around a few more years even if Texas does not get back "on top" year in and year out. As I have stated numerous times in the past it is my opinion that the Texas of old and I mean the teams that dominated the state and several times the nation will be fewer and further between because the playing field has leveled out quite a bit. Baylor, Texas A&M, TCU and likely even TT and Houston now have more competitive teams and facilities. So if there is Texas domination in the future will not be anything like the teams from the past in terms of multiple consecutive years. But right now Texas has a serious W- L to almost all teams they have faced on a regular basis and yes all teams want to beat the Horns.
  5. I tend to agree with you as from what I have seen they never seem to talk on he sidelines.
  6. I have no doubt that KA is hurt and hurt worse than is being let out. My guess is that Kyler will get the nod unless he has really screwed up his reputation in the locker room or has let it be known in no uncertain terms that he is done at A&M. If Hubenak starts to me it is an indication that the QB situation at A&M is really messed up - don't have a thing against him but you do not pass up on 2 highly touted QB's unless there is a major issue. Just my opinion.
  7. Because if Iowa State wins a game against Texas it is something to crow about regardless of current programs state of affairs - reverse that and if Iowa State loses to Texas it is how it should be no story there really for either team.
  8. You are right has been a running joke in A&M households for years - but now Texas keeps trying to steal it - 2014 wait till 2015 now in 2015 wait till 2016 and our young kids mature. Quit trying to steal our saying dudes.
  9. Have to disagree - I expect to see a different product on the field this weekend and for the remainder of the season - if not Sumlin is toast.
  10. We can go back and forth all day - How about how the Aggies faces looked after the Arizona State and Miss State games - there all always good and bad that we can ignore or use to bolster our arguments. Congrats on a big big win vs Oklahoma but Kansas State not so much since it has lost all 4 games since playing nobodies during the first 3 games. Fact is Texas has cupcakes the next two weeks and should be riding a high at 5 - 4 going into their 3 game make or break time to end the year (TT, Baylor and WVU) - I am thinking that they will be 6 - 6 and at best 7 - 5 going into the post season. Personally think all 3 of those games will be big challenges for Texas. Texas A&M has a favorable schedule and hopefully can come out with 2 - 3 wins over the next 3 games - then end with a big time game vs LSU - kinda picture them being 7 - 4 heading into the post season but 8 - 3 is still a possibility. Fact is again that both teams are setting themselves up to have good years in 2016 - but have had serious setbacks during the 2015 campaign.
  11. My apologies I did assume that you sere talking the West's standings.
  12. Yeah - bad times for the Aggie's - such a good thing that it has not happened to Texas this year - OH WAIT it has and in may very well be like the looks on Strong's face and Texas players faces when the camera showed them during the Notre Dame and TCU games - and the looks on players and Strong's faces after the Top 10 plays that ended the Cal and Okie State games - very likely did wonders for recruiting as well. And better hope the camera stays off the sidelines during the Baylor game as well. Oh yeah and I am sure the camera showing the mass exodus by Texas fans at half time of the TCU game were not good for recruiting as well.
  13. Where exactly is Texas in the Big 12 standings? Mack you are not using the NEW Texas math man - catch up - head to head means nothing unless it benefits Texas. So in TxHoops mind you have 1st place, 2nd place and 3rd place then you skip all the was to 6th (regardless of the head to head) must be the new Austin area math I've heard about.
  14. Could not get the story to come up on work computers - likely prohibited - from the jest of the comment more stories like this need to be spread to show some of the positives instead of all the negatives.
  15. Hey - sometimes we might not look good on the field -BUT we always look good in front of the camera.
  16. If I remember right the Death Penalty was not going to happen but serious other penalties were definitely in the works.
  17. Yes they did - While Murray's name was not exactly mentioned they stated that "benefits" were given to several players and NCAA violations were noted and it was funny that the next year Murray went to the NFL draft.
  18. WAIT - Texas fans reaching on their criticism of anything Aggie - why how dare you even consider making that statement
  19. Like I said - A&M loses this game and the real daytime soap operas in CS are going to start. I also worry about what happens next in CS - they start Murray and Allen gets pissed (could be viewed as appeasement) - or they start Allen and Murray puffs up (again) - they start Hubenak and all hell could break lose. I worry that If this ain't handled properly I could see you could see 2 very unhappy QB's - while very unlikely - which may cause both Allen and Murray transfer out - what a disaster that would be.
  20. Sorry Backer - but read this 3 times and never felt that he was mocking - even some of this players made comments about the atmosphere at Kyle Field and how loud it was. They won yes - but I have a different take on the comments and do not feel he was "mocking" at all.
  21. Your list man - Top 20 on that list - Top Leagues: 8 - SEC 4 Big 12 3 Pac 12 If I remember right you were the one that used to give the SEC hell for "being top heavy" - once you get past the top 3 teams in the Big 12 where are the rest? Look I do think the SEC is down this year and to a degree last years and the big 3 of the Big 12 deserve kudos - but while the SEC is "down" - still you look at the numbers it is still one of the toughest leagues to play in week in and week out.
  22. I agree that A&M should win this one regardless of the drama. But in reality this is a make or break game for the Aggie's - lose it and you may see real drama in College Station.
  23. One of the Big 12 teams will lose when they play each other - the other should be a lock unless the unthinkable happens and one of the 2 beats the other and then has some unnamed team beat them - could be Texas if Baylor beats TCU. If both teams end with 1 loss Big 12 could be excluded again.
  24. Normally QB recruiting has not been an issue with Sumlin and whoever his OC is. Will see how the current QB soap opera plays out to see if that hurts in the long run. On the current QB situation - if what has been reported and what I have heard is true and Allen is hurt then he needs to sit until better and not take a chance on getting hurt worse. Give Murray a chance and when Allen is better then have the QB competition to determine the starter then let the chips fall where they may. But in watching how they have used Murray so far this year A&M has not really given him much of a chance to succeed or fail over an extended period - say 3 or more series in a row. Will see now how good Sumlin and the coaches are at maintaining a locker room. And I hope that Sumlin is right and the team is frustrated and not split - frustration can bring a team together if directed into improving as a team but it the players are not on the same page as to the direction of the team then all hell can and may break out.
  25. You may be right - but I would wonder if leaving in the middle of the rebuilding project that he started would be in his character - I would think he would want to try and finish what he started. That being said if the remainder of the season does not see continual improvement - who knows - if offered this might give him and Texas a possible graceful exit they might need. Would still surprise me.
