Always have wondered when an OC or DC makes his name with a Heisman candidate was it the OC that made the QB or the QB that made the OC? Will Cumbie be as successful with Heard and Swoope's? Maybe one of the youngsters will step up for Texas.

Yeah I have heard that irrelevant talk now for 4 years - when is it going to actually happen on the field - when it does then come back and talk your smack. A&M is not were many of us - its fans - wish it would be and the annual losses are not fun to deal with but still would rather be 8-3 then 4-6. Strong has been there 2 years and A&M has out recruited him both years when all the players that were recruited actually made it into the college that they choose - you can recruit all you want if they never make the field then they do not help the program.

A&M bed crapping - lol - you obviously have not been reading or listening to the Texas fans wailing that is drowning out all reasonable thought in the state of Texas. And how are those recruits that never made it to campus helping out that program in Austin? Can't beat them just make fun of the programs that are performing better than yours. Texas fans like you (glad they are not all like this) make me love this site - can't win a game of importance over the last 3-4 years and becoming the floormat of the Big 12 (anyone should be able to stay ahead of Kansas and Iowa State - ohhhhhh wait sorry forgot) and all you can do to try and pick yourself off the ground is take cheap shots at A&M. Keep it up as soon you "might" be back in the driver's seat sometime in the future but for now enjoy being the backseat driver to Baylor, TCU, Texas Tech, Houston and A&M.

Didn't keep up on that deal really too much - but never heard the 1/2 proposed - still think the SEC was a better move for the Aggie's in the long run.

Last week I would have stated - and did - that I would be surprised if they let Miles go. But after this weekend and then looking a the end of season collapse (lol - worse than A&M's) that they have had with the expectations that they had - he may well be gone.

The main difference is that we don't hang our hats on the conference doings when we don't have a quality team. "We know we're dragging our conference down." - Texas Reference noted then "Aggy, on the other, sucks as well" - A&M reference. English lesson "as well" means equal or close to equal. If that ain't a comparison then call me a orange longhorn steer. Pretty obvious if you ask me!

Yeah you are right again - as the Big 12 gets better (too bad Texas ain't following that trend) whether you are ot not you are seeing more and more Texas supporters becoming more of conference supporters and stating what a tough conference it has become. And on the celebration front guess you just forgot the ice shower bath and the players carrying a certain Texas coach off the field after one of their 4 wins this year - so I guess Texas has some gomers as well.

Lol - you do sound like the real Whoopi - kinda think its funny that A&M at 8-3 is being compared to Texas at 4-6 as being equally bad - must be those rose colored glasses that Texas is handing out.

Nick Saben is 64 years old in a situation where he is already making tons of money and has a fan base, donors and it appears Board Members that love him - he could have 2 bad years and still very likely not have the alumni immediately calling for his head. He comes to Texas and for ANY reason stumbles he - or any coach - will be the next Strong. I think that Texas's demands on any coach that takes this job will be tremendous and the demands will be the same. Win and Win immediately will be the mantra. So while taking a challenge would be a draw for Saben - I think he will not be willing to leave the comfy situation that he is currently in - he has Bama on top and I see no reason that he cannot keep them there for awhile more. .

LSU might just get what they want and get rid of Miles - I think that they will quite possibly live to regret that decision in the long run. From what I can see Miles is very likely a hard man to get along with - but generally puts a pretty competitive team on he field.

Will that be enough to keep him there?

Sorry but you are more hopeful then almost all Texas fans I know - but it is good to see some give more time supporters still out there for Texas. But the fact remains - Texas has been beaten by teams this year with less talent than is currently on the Texas roster. You can debate this all you want too - and I know recruiting rankings are just a barometer of the talent you have coming into the program - but in 2010 and 2011 Texas had top 5 recruiting classes in 2013 and 2014 Texas had the 20th class both years (per 24/7 sports) while TCU and Baylor in 2013 and 2014 had 25th, 34th, 27th and 48th - much lesser talent and look what they have accomplished. That does not even address the Iowa State fiasco. Texas has seem unprepared and undisciplined in many of their games - that is not on the players but is on the coaching. Strong may well be able to still turn it around but I have my serious doubts.

I tend to agree with that - but as the saying states "money talks and bulls**t walks" so who knows if Texas gets crazy with the $$$$$

If Strong does not make a bowl game this year he has taken a step back - if Miami is interested in him and he is indeed interested in them then this could be a clean break for him and Texas. Would give Texas the chance again to attract the high level coach they want and expect. Could they get the next "Harbaugh" who knows but the search would as always be interesting.

If a deal was made and we lose Kyle Allen due to him being benched them A&M - in my opinion - A&M loses in the long run as I think Kyle is better then Kyler.
