  1. Nos, WHS, and BleedOrange I really have to agree with all your points.  For all the other guys, I totally understand the other side of the coin, but like WHS said, its a privilege, not a God given right to play HS athletics.

But I will say this, like Dickey V said, we don't know all the specifics.  I really have a feeling there is a lot of crazy things that are going into this circus they call "RECRUITING".  But at the end of the day, JB was pulling these stunts way before he showed up at Memorial and started playing under Henderson.

  2. Thank you UK!! If you look at my ORIGINAL answer, I DID answer THAT question...I said the football coach would not go for it...Other people made it a personal crusade for class 2A justice!...

Just for the record, he is talking about me.  And my 1st 3 post said he will never play basketball at Arkansas, because you hardly ever see Guards play both Football and Basketball.  More times than not its 6'6" to 6'8" athletes (ala D. McNabb) that are role players.  I also said that he made the right choice in playing football.

But I do believe he could have played basketball at a place like Baylor (who offered him a ride in both sports) or Tech, but I never said Texas, UCLA, UK, or KU or the NBA.

So no Dicky V, no crusade, just speaking on someone I've watched, unlike yourself who hasn't watched him since his Soph year.

  3. You are a TOTAL IDIOT!!!!!!!  Who said anything about NBA????  Who said anything about Duke?  I said Baylor, Tech, etc.

And I guess the Baylor coaches are total idiots when they offered him a full ride for either Basketball or Football.

I totally see why people say the things they say about you, because you are a work of art.

And I just figured it out!!!!!!  I know what I'm giving up for Lent-  (DrumRoll, please) IM GIVING UP ARGUING WITH IDIOTS (IN PARTICULAR, DICKY V) ON MESSAGE BOARDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  4. Dick V, how do you know this if you've only seen him play 1 or 2 times his Soph year?  Don't just make comments and assessments on someone you have no knowledge about.  That would be like me handicapping DeCarlos Frank's game after only watching him at the State Tourney last year as a Soph.  It makes no sense.  And believe me, Im not trying to take up for Tramain, nor do I want him to be that GOOD in B-ball, its just you talk before you think.  Its amazing how much you post without knowing what your talking about.

ONCE AGAIN READ, REREAD, REREAD AGAIN, BEFORE YOU PRESS SEND!!!!!!!!

  5. Like I said, I agree that football is his ticket.  But as someone that has watched Tramain his entire career, I can tell you that he is more than qualified to play in a conference like the Big 12 at a schools like Tech, Baylor, etc.  His AAU career speaks for itself.  He played, competed, and excelled with the best over his career on the national circuit.

But like someone said earlier, its a dead issue because he is playing football.  And thats, that!!!

  6. I agree with you on the fact that Football was the right choice, because I totally think he will be playing on Sundays in about 4 to 5 years, but I couldn't disagree more with you on your comments of where he could play basketball at if he concentrated on it.  First, Baylor wanted him to come and play both football and basketball, so there is one Big 12 school.  Secondly, he played big time AAU ball since his Jr. High days in Houston with some of the best squads traveling all over the nation.

Don't get me wrong, I never thought he was a Univ. of Texas, KU, or UK type player, but I personally think a place like Texas Tech would have been perfect for him if he would have played Basketball.  And you really can't compare Donahue, Netherley, are any other small school kid to Tramain.  Simply comparing apples to oranges.  I think he would have been a Dugat (Dayton player at Baylor) type player.  Good career at a average Big 12 school.

  7. NO NO NO, Im not arguing he should play both, because I totally think it would never fly.  Im saying if he decided he wanted to just play basketball and forgot about football, then he could play at the Big 12 or SEC level.

Only guys that are 6'6" or bigger, great athletes, and can except being a role player (ex: Donovan McNabb at Syracuse) can play both football and basketball.  There are a few exceptions (Charlie Ward) but not many.

  8. We all can come to the conclusion that the Arkansas coaches want let him play, but to say he couldn't play basketball at a Big 12 or SEC school in my opinion is wrong.

Most neysayers would argue he plays against lower level talent, but my argument is that he plays against some of the best talent Texas has to offer on the AAU circuit.  He has proven he belongs with the "Big Boys."  I guarntee if he played at lets say Ozen, he would be getting recruited by numerous big colleges.  Like I said earlier, this is just my opinion but I would bet most scouts would back me on my thoughts.

  9. 1st things 1st, he decommitted to Arizona and now will attend Univ. of Arkansas.

He definetly has the talent to play at the next level in basketball, but there is no chance he will ever step on the basketball court once he gets to Fayettville.  They will have him so busy bulking up and getting faster in the off season there will be no time for B-ball.  Simply the life of Big Time College Football!!

  10. They are OOOOOOKKKKKKKKKK.  Nothing special, just Ok!!!!!  Coach Andrews is the one that really brings the staff down, because his coaching of the JUMP SHOT.  Have you seen that guy shoot????   LOL   ;D ;D ;D ;D

BTW, the people on hear giving the coaches praise weren't the same ones ragging them a few weeks ago.  Those clowns stay dormant til EC loses.  They are like roaches, they only come out when its dark.

  11. woden is also dangerous if you catch them on a night where they cant miss they are tough to beat ask newton

I agree to an extent, but historically Woden has played HORRIBLE against SETX (EC and Kountze).  I don't know if its the pressure defense, the athleticism, or both, but the kids from Woden always get their doors blown off when playing the likes of EC and Kountze.  But in saying that, they always seem to make a run in the playoffs.

  12. And that is why I underlined, Bolded, and Italicized the part you wrote, because it was exactly what I said Crazy and Dumb.

I got your joking part, just thought the YOUR PART should have been posted in Texas Monthly's "Bum Steer Awards"  LOL

If I told you once Dickey V, I told you a thousand times, READ, REREAD, then REREAD again before you press SEND on your Post.  It will make you alot more Creditable on the site, better yet, send them to me 1st and I will approve them before they get posted.  But then again, you might not have many post that way....

  13. Where you quoting Pimp C on this part: That ( concerning the Yates team) is MY opinion!!

    OR  This part:

BTW, I FORGOT more basketball than most of you on here will ever even know in this lifetime, and I have been around this game MY ENTIRE life, so I think I know a little something about it

Because I get the 1st part of that, but I don't think you were quoting Pimp C on the 2nd part
