1. I haven't seen HD this year, but understand that they have some move-ins that have helped.  I believe, however that they would struggle against any of the 10-1A teams.  Some of these teams beat large 2-A and 3-A sized schools in pre-district.  They beat up on each other pretty hard.  WS torched WH 64-0 using back-ups a large portion of the game, and WS is a very young team primarily sophmores and juniors.
Are you kidding?
Not kidding, I watched them play, not bad!  Very fast qb and rb, and the qb may throw the prettiest ball I have seen. All this aside, none of it matters if WS doesn't take care of business. They are more than capable.  It is their game to lose.  Taking nothing away from Timpson, Conway has done a heck of a job, and they have some players.  WS is a young team and that has cost them a couple games this year, but primed to win this one IMHO.

Stephen F Austin is also a place near the middle. I'm leaning Diboll though. I'm thinking Finney will want to try to keep Alto on grass. No sense in giving them a fast track if HD can help it. Anyone know anything about Harleton?
I was thinking Huntsville, Conroe or Navasota. We played at those stadiums in the past. I agree Finney will probably want to play on grass vs Alto. Harleton finished  7-3 and finish 3rd in their District.
Hunstville might be a good but expensive place to play.  I see Alto making to HD, and even though it is early, I have to go with Alto there as well.  Hull-D coming out a horrible district won't be prepared, but I have been wrong before.
5. Shelbyville upsets Alto 28-12, Alto fails to make playoffs!
6. This is a must win for WS sitting at 2-2 in district play.  They have two wins against less than competitive Shelbyville and Cushing by a combined score of 110 to 15, yet struggled against the two district favorites in San Augustine and Alto, but lost by only 12 and 14 respectively.  They win and they pretty much guarantee 3rd place, but there is an outside and yet even more remote chance of getting second should Shelbyville beat Alto by at least 14 points.  This scenario would leave Alto sitting at home.  Not likely but not impossible with Alto being banged up.  What are your thoughts?
7. "I'm sorry, I don't see how you can look at yalls pre-district schedule and come up with anything but weak! The only football team yall played before two weeks ago was Tenaha! The rest of them have done nothing but lose, to each other even! Don't get me wrong, I can see some advantages to it but, when it comes down to close games it doesn't help out much! As far as peaking out to early, I would tend to agree with you on that. Same thing happened to SA last year. They peaked the night we played Corrigan and just" All I was saying is that the schedule looked a lot better before the season started.  Tenaha and Kelly was in the state finals last year as well, WS also Played Timpson who is doing ok, and beat them in a scrimmage.
8.
No excuses here, SA is the better team.  I truly don't believe WS is playing as well now as say when they played Teneha and they may have peaked too early.  I'm not using this as an excuse because I still don't believe they would have beaten SA.  SA exposed a real weakness for WS and that is the offensive line, it was unreal how quick the SA defense shot the gaps and got to Lacey and they absolutely made Nick Williams a non-factor.  WS looked scared from the beginning to end, and I honestly mean SCARED!  If WS does not get things together then they can forget the playoffs and look to an early basketball season!! BTW, since district began I have NOT been impressed much at all out of ANY of the teams in this district, I dont see anyone getting past the third round coming out of our district.  I really hope I'm wrong.
I disagree on some points you make here.  I don't think WS is playing as well now as they were, and it is not competition level related completely.  The line has been very nicked up, and Williams didn't play much of the game after twisting his knee in a non contact situation on the second play.  WS predistrict schedule looked pretty good before the season started.  They played what was a good Kelly team a year ago, Tenaha, need I say more, Hemphill & Burkeville is a tradition that they all but must play.  Hemphill was playing pretty well at that time.  Most people over there will tell you, that losing to WS in many ways, killed there season.  Then with Twine going down, there was nothing left mentally.
9. Sa is pretty good, but I am going with Alto in this one.  More balanced and their defense isn't bulletproof.  WS, who was with out their best RB most of the game, moved the ball on them pretty effectively only punting two times.  Alto is more physical and bigger than SA is on the line.  They will run right at SA and pound the ball taking a lot of clock.  I believe Alto's defense is better than SA's offense who overall struggled against the WS defense scoring on a few blown coverages that Alto won't give up.  It will be a good one that could go either way, but I have to pick one, and thats is where Im leaning after seeing both teams.
10. Jasper is getting better, but hey are not there yet, take Carthage by 14.
11. Speaking of hitting hard, how many times did we have to wait for another yellow jacket to get up off the field.  No tiger ever slowed to game down............  Nor have they all year.    Alto won, this is true, but the turnovers were the difference, they could not stop WS offense either.  WS running back had a higher average per carry than Whitaker and probably more yards total.  Whitaker ran approx 36 times for @ 150 yds, Williams for WS ran 12 times for about the same yardage.  And williams out ran all the Alto players more than once.
12. West Sabine beat themselves.  The only ones that stopped the WS offense was WS.  The best running back in the district is #12 from WS as he showed it, #15 from alto could not catch him tonight in a foot race.  WS put themselves in a bad postion that got them out of their game.  The two TD pass plays that Alto completed to #15 were on blown coverages, nothing to do with speed.  Lacey had an off night throwing the ball which happens to all at some time.  He had #4 wide open on the first play of the game but made a error on the throw to the wrong shoulder.  Alto played well, but WS can beat them if they meet again in the playoffs.  Alto is very good and hats off to them.  Tigers are even more fired up now for SA.  Wolves better watch out.  To quote and admiral from Japan in WW2, all Alto may have done is to awaken a sleeping giant.  But only time will tell.
13. 2012 Toilet Bowl winner will be................ Burkeville  :'(
