David Bishop was the Humble High School Principal until his resignation from the District...

liltex...I used to travel through Dayton back then, living in Humble, and Dayton was, like Humble, a little 2A town.  Wish Humble was still that way...Nothing West of the RR tracks but cow pasture, and a pretty good overall athletic program...And virtually no crime.

In 2012, look for Dist. 19-4A to be very, very competitive.  If everyone reloads coaching staffs in Crosby and Humble the way that they have in Dayton, Summer Creek and Barbers Hill, it's going to be tough getting into the top four, which is going to make everyone stonger for the Playoffs.  Talent is a strong ingredient but coaching is the glue that puts it all together.  Wasn't that difficult in Dayton...They just closed ranks, named a HC from their staff, and kept it going.  Summer Creek brought in a proven coach, as did BH, and look at the move they've both made in two seasons.

Going to be good 19-4A teams limited to a 10 game schedule next season.  JMO

Every day, every practice, every game...Work your hardest to get better as a team, and stronger with you're fundamental skills.  That's the only way that success and luck will come your way.

GGD...My heart aches from what's happening at REL.  To have been there in some of her glory years, I could have never imagined this
occurring.  It's happening in so many Districts in the area.  The zoning process has created such a downfall.  Wish School Boards would look around before rezoning and try their best to prevent these tragedys...JMO...Hope Mikey has a great season.

I'm so ready for baseball season...My most anticipated game is the first scrimmage on the schedule.  My next most anticipated game is the next one on the schedule, and so on down the list.  Bring'um on...

IMO...Select is good for position players as they, most of the time, get to play 3+ innings a game and get the reps to aide development.

It's another matter with Pitchers...They will, most weekends, get, at most, 3 innings of pitching time.  In most cases it's 2.  This, IMO, is not development.  It's making sure that a team member, who has paid his fees, gets into a game, once or twice a weekend.  How can you develop, throwing 15 to 25 pitches a weekend?  This often leads to just going out there and, realizing your not going to be there long,
throwing as hard as you can to impress the guns...Not development.

As for the getting seen by Scouts promise...If a player has talent...HE WILL BE SEEN.  IMO...

You're probably right.  I was thinking, maybe they've turned 19.

Man...With the likes of Jonathan Grey and Trey Williams not on the Roster...Running backs must be quite awesome.

Need to give credit to Dayton...Montgomery, Dawson and PNG.  Opponents can oft times affect the way you play.

Mediocracy tends to bring out only the true fans of any team.  Lose next Friday and the crowd will get even smaller.  Amazing how people only want to be associated with winning.  JMO...

Sorry...Been around too long.  I apologize for calling North Forest, Forest Brook.

No doubt Dayton can get a win over Forest Brook Friday night.  But Broncos need to be aware.  I think that playing so hard against BH, and doing a descent job on defense, gave FB an I THINK I CAN mentality.  Could be part of the reason why they went out and got the win against Lee. They will come out pumped Friday night and probably, at some point, make a run.  Better be ready...

Number 1...No difference in BH and Dayton fans.  Always a couple that just like to rattle chains, and that's fun to see.
Number 2...It's great when you're on the rise, and the longer your up there, the tougher it is as you begin to slide...But let's face it, Dayton is going through hard times w/ injurys, more so than the coaching change.  The injurys, piling up can create frustration from every direction.
Number 3...The coaching staffs of neither team caused  the 5/8 turnovers.  But, that's when strength begins to show, especially in a team that shows some character.  Overcoming injurys and turnovers indicates something special.  In the past, it's been Dayton.  Right now, it's BH.  At any point that can turn around...As they always say, "Isn't that why they play the game?"

Number 4...Lets hope that all injurys are healed quickly, and that no more injurys occur for any of our teams, from any Region, or District.

If, as reported, Livingston has lost "The Bull" for the season...that might alter their final positioning.

Football Folks know the importance of defense.  Without the terrific defensive effort, this team, it's individual members, and it's coaches
have put forth...the Eagles would not be where they are this season.
Just to watch an Eagle practice gives you a good understanding of why this team is presently being successful.  The repetition, the patience and the enthusiasium is really fun to watch.

C'mon Guys...It's a baseball cap, turned backwards, with his headphones over it.  Nobody seemed to notice all last season.  Now, if turning it around would eliminate the fumbles and dropped passes...I'd be good w/ that.  Keep the Mojo working Eagles...

Here's a team stat that is neat, but sorta uncommon with all of the great individuals on these high school teams.  Seven touchdowns scored by BH against Lee Friday night...Seven scores by seven different players.  Can you spell T-E-A-M.

Great job Mr. Toups, as always...Dayton, and the Broncos are very  fortunate to have you.

For the most part, parents are elected by the community as School Board members.  The school board selects the Supts. and have a big say in spending $$$, and how it is spent.  The school board is the watch dog.  So, I'd say that that whole situation is due to the job done by that community.  As in most households, its the kids that suffer...very sad situation.  JMO
