Cant stand this anymore. Folks I want you to carefully consider how many good young men MB and his coaches have helped in life situations. I didnt say how many got scholarships for football I said life...... These men that you call coaches are also the men and women we trust with our kids lives. They spend a lot of time with our kids and many of these kids are given guidance and receive support from not just coaches but people who matter to them. Give the coaches more than just credit for coaching and winning football games these coaches not just at PNG but all over our area care about what happens to these kids after football and to think about dismissing a coach just for a losing season you better be careful for what you wish for. I happen to have two coaches in my family and I can tell you for a fact how much they care for these kids and its not just because they are athletes. They are people who will deal with life after sports and the coaches worry about them. Coach Burnett you have my support because you do the right thing. A champion can be built but the champions heart has to come with the players. Be proud PNG and wrap fish with the article and throw it in the trash.

VietNam Vet 69-70 I would like to thank all the schools and organizations who put forth the effort of creating the programs for Vets on Veterans Day. Sometimes we dwell too much on the bad some of our youth do today and do not publicize the good that most represent. I am reassured every year by our young people as to the respect they show our Vets and I will always appreciate their kindness towards us aging veterans. I came home to a country that was not very kind at the time but our young people have more than made up for that time period I lived thru. I will be forever grateful to especially Evadale and Silsbee High for their Veterans Day Programs and thank you for allowing us to serve this great country. Thanks to all who honor our veterans every day of the year

This year has been one exciting season around all Classes of VB. Some great teams all around our area and the ability of the smaller schools to compete can only make all teams better. It is really great to see the 2A and 3A schools schedule some of the 1A schools it really makes for some great volleyball action. Some really great rivalries have been formed and a lot of great friendships made. Congratulations to all the classes of volleyball teams and coaches in our area on your seasons and good luck in the playoffs.

whatever happened to winning and losing. Yes they will be declared tri-champs by UIL technicality, but I guarantee you the teams will know who won the district in reality by how the 3 way playoff comes out. Give the teams some credit, they can accept winning and losing. If they couldnt they wouldnt participate in athletics. Everyone wants everybody to feel warm and fuzzy but guess what in athletics just as in life their is success and yes even sometimes we fail. Picking yourself up after losing is what is important in life and learning how to handle defeat as well as victory is just as important. Sorry but the UIL wants everyone in the playoffs and everyone to feel great and eventually we wont even keep score to see who wins and loses. Again, sorry, but not everyone wins in life and our kids need to be taught to try to win as hard as they can, but also that sometimes their is a team or an individual that is just a little bit better at something than you are. SO WORK HARDER...... The voice of reality.................. This would be something Cowboy fans should read............. :D :D :D :D just kidding lighten up ;D
