I don't get to see Lumberton too often being as I work in Orange. I saw Jacob his sophomore year and was impressed then. When Hussey was getting all the carries last year I kept thinking "where is the hanna guy?" Now don't get me wrong I saw why Hussey ran so much - Willie Ray Smith says it all. Hanna's season does not surprise me one bit. Even from the little I get to see him he always impressed me. Great running back, Lumberton has a good one. Good luck to him and the Raiders down the road.

It was 14 7 to Silsbee, 7 to Bridge City... I also heard WOS did a lot of taking time off the game clock and waiting to snap the ball. I know both sides of teams and respect both sides a lot. I know for a fact Hooks does not take pride in embarrassing another team, mainly because of the players. He especially does not like it when it is another Orange County team. Hooks is smart enough to know the Mustangs can score a ton on OF, give the man a little credit. Backup running backs had 19 carries for the Mustangs against the Bobcats. Ask me and that is attempting to slow down on offense. Good luck to the Mustangs and congrats to the Bobcats on a hard fought season. No Bobcat team can ever be accused of lacking effort, it is a great tribute to them, their fans and coaches. You can't let a blowout loss to WO-S bother you, you aren't the only ones it happened to this season.

Lady ‘Cats push past nerves; down Liberty in 4 By Gabriel Pruett The Orange Leader MOUNT BELVIEU — The Orangefield Lady Bobcats might have been a little nervous but they were far from satisfied Tuesday night. Orangefield shrug off the nerves to beat the Liberty Lady Panthers in four games in the Class 3A Region III bi-district round playoff game at Barbers Hill High School. The Lady Bobcats (20-9) won the match 25-21, 18-25, 25-21 and 25-13. Senior Allie Beach once again led the Lady Bobcats with 17 kills while fellow senior Olivia Wagner finished with 26 assists. Ashton Wagner finished with five kills while Kaitlyn Henson and Aimee Scales each had four kills. Scales also put in eight aces in the match. “We are very excited to get this first playoff win,†Orangefield Coach Kristin Holbrooks said. “You could tell it was a different team tonight though from last Saturday. They seemed a bit nervous but they fought through it. Now I hope it is out of the way and they will play even better in the next round.†The good news for the Lady Bobcats is the next round will not even be the area round. Orangefield has a bye through the area round and will meet the winner of Hamshire-Fannett and Taylor next week. The Lady Longhorns had a bye through the bi-district round.
