Kountze, Hardin and Deweyville?? Are you serious? You can't be serious! LOL Hardin: yes. Kountze: maybe. Deweyville: no way EC will be deep in the running for the district championship, without a doubt. Too much tradition here. Hardin will be in the running too. Can only comment on Buna from what I have seen posted here. So I am going to say Buna and K-toon battle for the third spot.

You know the old saying, "you can't please all the people all the time". This kind of thing happens all the time, there will always be someone to complain about who gets hired no matter what his qualifications are. Heck, Jimmy Johnson himself could get hired at Deweyville and there would be some joker complaining because he doesn't like a coach with great hair! LOL And this "Red Raider" connection! Come on!

Death Penalty in high school??? I would like to see some instances of that before I believe it. Removal of a coach, sanctions or probation for the team but not totally killing the program. Can't see that happening.

I am a former decathlete (athough not a great one) so i am always into the multis. She definitely has the tools to progress and with her being just a junior she has plenty of time. Her story has been all over the news papers across the US. How about those Rowlette boys. They have several studs!

Youare so right Football. The one girl from Rochelle (1A school) was First in the high jump and 200, Second in the Long jump and 100, Third in the discus! One woman wrecking crew! Very impressive in this state where relays rule the team championships! Way to go young lady named Bonny Richardson!

It looks like this thread has evolved from discussing passing the TAKS to private vs public school. I go along with what SETXBBFAN said about a student needing to suck it up and working hard and pass the TAKS. Too many excuses. Last time I checked, math is math, 2+2 = 4 no matter if you are white or black or any other color. i don't see how the TAKS can be biased. If a student doesn't want to pay attention and doesn't want to do the work or mama and daddy aren't there to push the kid then it is their fault, not the school or the state or anyone else.

What happen to the Region 3 2A meet results? I have yet to see ANYTHING :-\ about this region ANYWHERE! I hate to complain. What did they do, run the meet in outer space or did they just elect not to tell anyone what happened outside of Patestine Texas?!!

It is not hard to tell which sports are important around here, if this was regional football or basketball this site would be busting with scores and stats, etc. Can't even get final results for 5 different region meets at 9:47 PM!

Wow! Lil' Napoleon? Is that his handle out there? Unfortunately, and i have been a casualty of it and have seen it happen dozens of times, in a small school football knowledge usually outweighs the other sports knowledge. Now, if I am not mistaken, doesn't Hank H. not coach football out there, or very little anyway? I saw him keeping stats at a couple of games I went to and he walked the side lines hoping like heck that TT or some of the boys didn't get too banged up outon the field. ;D Best of luck to this situation. There can be a happy medium, there are some great second sport coaches who happen to be great football coaches too.

Boy, nobody is lighting up the track according to those results. a 2:12 goes to regional in 4A??!! Are you kidding me?! There should be some sub 2:00 times in there especially for 4A.

Glad to see Hardin up there in the top two, but sad to see EC has dropped to third. They won the district so many years in a row and have always been so competitive in track. Must be a down year for them.

Wow, form the looks of things college basketball is the one to watch and I agree. Nothing like the excitement of March Madness! Like last night's game! Great ending! I only watch the pros if the Rockets happen to be playing in a tight playoff series or something like that. I agree with just about everyone here, there is more passion and pride in the college game and too much individual play and no loyalty in the pros

Don't think hand held times or FAT are going to matter that much in the 4 X ! and 4 X 2. Chilton had a district meet already???? What do they want to do, get it out of the way so they can have football practice? :'(

Yeah, that Brannon girl is pretty good from what I read. Isn't she just a soph or junior? I look for great things out of her. WOS always has some track athletes (go figure :-\) With the way Texas scores high school track meets, you have four or five speedsters and you can win just about any meet, depending on quality, that includes the state meet. I am an old track coach and I love to watch the individual events, especially the hurdles and field events. That's where the coaching comes in. If Texas scored the relays like they do the individual events (10-8-6-4-2-1) there would be a lot more coaching and strategy needed in meets. JMHO

400 meter dash-Justin Krautz Nederland 49.72(FAT) 800 meter run-Justin Krautz Nederland 1:58.7 pole vault-Jared Parker Vidor 16' 4oo meter relay-Central 41.68 Those are some real good times! I love a good 400/800 meter man. Hopefully he can pull that 800 time down to a 1:55 or lower, especially with 49 sec. speed in the 400. 800 meters--- a real man's race! Anyone have any of the small school times around here? HJ still have that good 300mH guy? Box was his name.

Some very impressive marks for this distict. I appreciate your post. Anyone able to provide the other local district bests? I would be interested in seeing how some of the smaller schools stack up.

Does the school athletic program have a booster club? Seems like the administration should have seen this coming a lot sooner, maybe the boosters could have helped out. Regardless, it is good to hear about these two good Samartians. Bless them for their generosity.

A discussion like this needs to be done out there in Winnie, in the Dairy Queen parking lot or over at the Texas Swing (for those of you over 21 ;D)
