It has been a long season so far for Hardin, and it doesn't look like it is getting any better. I hope they can pick up a few wins in the district. Hang in there Coach Scott

What is up with Hardin this year? Did they lose that many seniors from last years team? Is there some internal problems we don't know about?

Add me to the list of those with tears running down. This is one of the best sports stories of the year. God bless all those people in Grapevine as well as those boys in Gainesville. I hope that this will serve as some kind of sign to those boys that there is hope and they can make changes in their lives and get past where they are now. Also, to those boys up in Grapevine, I hope they realize just what they have at this moment.

Wow, can't believe we haven't heard more about this. I wonder what set this kid off like that. I cannot imagine a kid could think he could get away with something like that no matter where the game is played. Like others have said, if he is an underclassman he should be kicked out of all sports. He needs some serious anger management!

Me personally, I would love to see Andy Evans come in there. I know he would make an impact on the program top to bottom. He is a great guy with strong morals and is very dedicated to the kids.

I wonder if this test measures heart or desire or dedication? What I want to know is if my kids doesn't have the proper genetic make up to be a superstar and he wants to play sports when he gets to be 9 or 10. What do I say? "No son your test scores weren't high enough, you just better settle for the chess club." This is a bunch of garbage if you ask me. Something out of the old soviet union from the 60's and 70's. But like it is said, some people will believe anything.

I agree with Titan also it looked there was a illegal block down field in there too that sprung him loose.

I just saw photos of the Waco Midway/Longview game. Human error. Not much you can do about it now.

There is a little thing called "human error". All of our teams have been burned by it at least once in every sport. We hate when it happens, we complain, we scream or cry, but in the end life goes on. The NFL, NBA, NCAA, NHL, MLB, and who ever else with a three letter acronym (except the UIL) is doing their best to take the human error out of the game (even then they don't always get it right). There is just no feasible way for high school football to have something like that. Well, why not just for playoffs? IMO not fair to the team that got bumped out of the playoffs because an official missed a call back on the last day of the regular season with two minutes to go in the fourth quarter. Just my humble opinion here! ;D

If and when he gets in....will he be able to STAY in? He will have to take classes. Do they still offer basket weaving and finger painting for athletes?

OK, like most of you other guys on here, I have seen hundreds of "big" hits. One that sticks out in my mind (some of you EC fans can probably back me up here) is a playoff game between East Chambers and Mart in 2000 over Bryan's stadium. Cody Thibedeaux was the ball carrier and I watched him lower his shoulder and accelerate right into Quan Cosby (yes, THAT Quan Cosby at UT) just as Cosby was lowering his shoulder and accelerating into Thibedeaux. It was like two trucks colliding head on. Both got up and headed back to their respective huddles afterward. I was standing on the sideline and I swear I felt an earthquake!

That is great! Wow, never say never. That would have been great to see in person. My only remark is how come the team that one didn't score more by passing, from the looks of things the losing team had terrible players in the secondary

I was probably driving that bus to Romayor and the surrounding areas from time to time back in the late 80s as well as wearing a whistle around my neck back at the school. Bush, you still stir things up from what I see! LOL

Deweyville had some players check it in this week? Why is that happening? It was my feeling that everyone seemed to like the coach and things were going ok out there. Anyone care to elaborate?

Great topic and post. I want to add the exicting district race going on in 23 2A. It is my favorite race to watch. Always some upsets to look forward to. This is an exciting time of the season.

I knew there had to be some interesting waxing and whining (oops I mean waning) from HDBobcats9 and HD Bobcat 55 on this subject. So, just what if ..................... This game has always (or almost always) been a good small school, small town rivalry game. That is HD vs WH (not HD vs Evadale). I am pulling for WH and the upset! If that happens, can't wait to see how these two HD boys would justify that!
