  1. Wow! Excellent times for such a young runner! Way to go!
  2. Pat Henry is an awesome coach, every where he has been they have been national champs, even at good old Blinn college back in the 80s (JUCO champs anyway)
  3. I hope somebody picks the girl fom Rochelle up this next year she can be an awesome heptathlete.
  4. Wasn't he an assistant football and head baseball coach there a few years back? Super young man, best wishes to him.
  5. He seems like a nice guy and seemed to do a very good job over there at Legacy. The bad thing is, just like he said, there are limited benefits at some private school for teachers and until they can work that problem out it will be tough to get a good coach in there to stay.
  6. I will be rooting for East Dillon in 2009. Good show! I know the way things happen in this show are pretty near impossible but that little bit of Texas football makes it a good one!
  7. Had a kid bring in a note from a doctor saying he needed to skip practice. We asked him what was wrong. He said he was sick and that the doctor had given him medicine. We looked at the note and then we asked him how come it note was from a dentist?!!!(his mom worked there) You should have seen his face when he realized we were on to his story!
  8. Out of the five listed the COLLEGE GAMES are the best. Give me college football and basketball over the pros anyday!
  9. Coached in the same district as GA Moore back in the early 80's. He certainly had a presence back then and probably still does. He was/is revered by many. Great to hear he is back in the game. He will have a lot to give. He made sure a program was well rounded, not just football but all sports.
  10. Sounds like it was a blood bath out there, so many fouls! I guess Milburn must have had a deep bench. Way to go Bucs, good luck with NW!
  11. Ture Baller....Track and field is the only true sport....all others are games which involve a ball and track and field events (running an djumping and throwing). Look at the very first Olympics in ancient Greece. Running, jumping, and throwing spears. If you check you will find that there are a ton of pro athletes in football, basketball and baseball who were excellent if not world class track athletes! I know, I am biased! ;D I am an old track athlete and coach from way back!
  12. I agree, if this is going to be "her year" she better pick up the pace pretty quick. 16.9 and 49 won't go anywhere, including 1A
  13. I remember that 2000 team, I thought they were 5 of the toughtest, grittiest players I have ever seen. K. Baker was one of them. Tough outstanding young lady who is now one of EC's coaches. They took it ot the limit every game. OK, now on to the present day...good luck to the Lady Bucs in the next round
  14. Coach didn't want to call off the dogs or what? i didn't think coach West was that kind of guy. OR did D'ville just decide not to show up?
  15. I think a good even mix of all those type of workouts is excellent. If you are up on this kind of thing, even the pro athletes are getting away from the heavy weight training on a regular basis and going to more full body movement type of exercises to build power.
  16. Glad to see Hardin get a district win. It has been a long season for the Hornets and Coach Scott. hang in there guys!
  17. Greg Oden gets my vote. Talk about acromegly....too much growth hormone floating around in the kid. What is he going to look like when he is 30 or 40 or even 50?!!
  18. Character check....maybe he will take his ball and go home?
  19. Where in the heck is Redhorse? I have been around here a long time and I don't think I have eer heard of it. ???
  20. From the looks of EC's record I sure hope they are playing better than the beginning of the year. Otherwise it is going to be a long night for the Bucs.
