Statement from FBCA: FBCA is aware of an inaccurate social media post concerning a football game versus Vidor High School. The social media post alleged that FBCA was “unwilling to play Vidor for the city’s past.” A full investigation has been conducted by school administration, and at no time were any statements of this nature made by Fort Bend Christian Academy personnel about Vidor’s history. Due to Tropical Storm Nicholas, our original Friday opponent, Van Vleck High School, had to cancel this week’s game. Immediately, our Head Football Coach was approached by a few schools to play in place of that cancelled game. After considering our options for a game this Friday, FBCA made the decision, in the best interest of our students and families, to play a local team that would allow us to not miss additional academic time in the classroom and not cause extensive travel to participate. Before agreeing to play Fulshear High School, we offered to play Vidor High School at FBCA, but they declined due to having already sold tickets for a home game. We sincerely apologize for any misunderstanding or concern that this may have caused the Vidor High School community.

Like I said, they decided to play a team closer for less travel. At the time FBCA agreed to play Vidor, Fulshear still had their original game in play. When Fulshear's opponent canceled, that opened up the opportunity for FBCA to get a closer game. I understood it to be nothing but a travel issue for FBCA and nothing racial.

It's my understanding that this is storm related.

I'm not aware of any forfeit. None of the other non-district games that were canceled resulted in forfeits. Why should this one?
-
From what I gathered, they decided to go with a game that was more local.

I just watched what could easily be a 6A Div 1 Final.....

Game Added Jasper at LCM Oct. 1
AggiesAreWe replied to Bobcatfan4life's topic in High School Football
Correct. Already added it to that week's schedule here. -
Game was in Carthage last year.
-
Game is at Nacogdoches High
-
Oh. Now you want to specify the years to fit your narrative. Your original post about teams beating Crosby never stated the years.
-
I can certainly agree with that.
-
There are several teams in the area that has more wins against Crosby than what Vidor has. Silsbee is one of them. Silsbee is 8-2 all time against Crosby. But, they have not played in a few decades.

So two times qualifies as "several"?

Sabine Pass has canceled their 2021 season
AggiesAreWe replied to AggiesAreWe's topic in High School Football
It would have to be outlaw right now. -
Same here. My info came from coaches at WO-S and from sources at Carthage. WO-S contacted Carthage. Carthage said no.

Sabine Pass has canceled their 2021 season
AggiesAreWe replied to AggiesAreWe's topic in High School Football
With other local 11 man teams. If Sabine Pass were to go the 6 man route, they would be a 1A DI school. Chester and Apple Springs are currently DII. In fact, that is our only UIL 6man district (13 1A-DII) we currently have here locally. -

Problem with that is not enough local teams play 6 man to have a local district. Would be too much travel for a school that far south. Reason why High Island went back to 11 man football.
