  1. What???? This was at WOS #1...........so why should Silsbee administration be ashamed.........the COACH, not UIL suspended the players in question, what else should he do.........WOS fans........not Silsbee's were on the floor fighting, WOS throwing balls at Silsbee players...........and yes the 2 that got suspensions probably deserve it........but then read the article above..........NO WOS PLAYERS SUSPENDED AT THIS TIME! You said you needed facts, great, but wait until you get them before making comments like you did about Silsbee being ashamed of themselves. Here are some more facts: WOS - parent on the floor last year at Silsbee during Girls game, yelling and screaming after a foul. WOS - parent (fan) ejected at Evadale -v- Silsbee in Girls playoff last year. WOS - Fighting in FB -v- Dayton this year WOS - Fighting -v- Silsbee in boys BB this year (and these are just the ones "I" know about!) Now it could be that everyone is just picking on poor little WOS.........or maybe........well you decide! Tiger12 now would be a good time to remove that large foot from your mouth!! Lets see here: Silsbee - Players Fighting -v- WOS boys in BB LAST WEEK!! Silsbee - Players Fighting -v- HJ boys in BB THIS WEEK!! (and these are just the ones "I" know about!) Sounds like a little of the pot calling the kettle black to me!! There was no fight tonight. A Silsbee JV player committed a hard foul on a HJ player with just a couple of seconds left. The HJ player pushed back and that was it. Tempers flared a little but it was broken up quickly. That's the facts.
  2. a technical that carried over from the JV game? I've never heard of that before... I have never heard of that before either. Only thing I can think of is that the refs called it on a fan and not a player after the game had concluded. Silsbee leads after 1st 23-18 We were told the freethrows were because Silsbee dunked during pregame warm-up. They also got the ball after the shots. Absolutely great game!!!! (Not really TheT12 but her mom ---didn't want to sign-in---I'm tired after that game! ) Ah, should have known. Didn't think of the pregame dunking.
  3. Upset Tuesday Kingwood 52 Westbrook 46 Atascocita 60 PAM 53 Dayton 71 Central 64 LCM 63 Nederland 59 PNG 77 Vidor 59 Silsbee 71 HJ 69 mild EC 70 Kountze 51 mild suprising 19 point win Big winners were Dayton, LCM, and Atoscocita, kept their playoff hopes alive Big losers were PAM, Vidor, and Nederland, a win by these teams seperates them from the pack.
  4. No double digit win for the Hawks like many predicted. They missed Trey tonight but the Tigers also missed their two that were suspended, particularly their '6"8 post. If there is a rematch, look for the same type game, no blowout.
  5. Final HJ 69 Silsbee 71 HJ misses three pointer at the buzzer
  6. end of 3rd HJ 54 Silsbee 57 Silsbee in foul trouble. Not good with two players that get significant pt not playing tonight. HJ made a good run to end the 3rd

  8. I didn't realize that folks were becoming fans of Yates just by stating that they are a very good team and predicting them to win state. I am not a fan of the New England Patriots but I will state they are the best in the NFL and will win the Super Bowl. BTW, I've never been to Boston. You can do better than that Dick. ;D
  9. No need to post names. One had been a starter but not of late, the other is the 7th to 8th man in rotation.
  10. Hey, what about favorite Setxsports basketball broadcaster? Hint Hint
  11. Yes I do agree with you for the most part. It seems that when a HISD team does win a state championship it's mostly from the fact that they had a overwhelming abundance of talent over their opponents. There have been a few exceptions. One that comes to mind was the '78 Wheatley team. The two teams they faced in the semis and finals were more talented, but Jackie Carr got the most out of that team and won. I do admit he was very lucky in the finals, but that game showed what poor coaching San Antonio Fox Tech had. I mean, you are up by 1 with 1 second on the clock. Your team is shooting 2 freethrows and Wheatley has no timeouts left. Why on earth do you put 2 of your players on the lane to rebound the miss if it happens? The Fox Tech player missed both freethrows and on the rebound of the second miss a Fox Tech player fouled a Wheatley player as the buzzer sounded. The Wheatley player went down to the other end and made both freethrows with no time on the clock to win 84-83. How stupid a coaching job is that?
  12. Again, I just don't understand why Silsbee is not in the top 20. They would beat alot of those teams that are in. A 19-5 record with all 5 of those losses coming from state ranked teams should get you some consideration. Look at Gonzales, they are 11-13 for crying out loud.
  13. That '83 Yates team is the team I use as an example when there I am in a debate between talent and coaching. That team had arguably the most talent of any team in the state that year. Five D-1 players with two of them being pretty special, Ricky and Carl. They were beaten in the semis by a Ft. Worth Paschal team that was good, but couldn't come close to the talent Yates had. What Paschal had was great coaching. Paschal's tallest player was '6"3 and the rest were '6"0 or smaller. Yates started '6"2, '6"2, '6"5, '6"8,and '6"9 with Ricky being the '6"8 and playing alot at point. They should have killed that team. Paschal packed it in a zone, forced Yates to shoot from outside therefore exposing their weakness, they couldn't shoot. Also, Paschal pressed heavily showing that Yates really didn't have a true point guard on the team, creating many turnovers. It looked like the Yates coach just sat back and said " You guys are the talent, go win it". It was embarassing.
  14. That was a girls game, right? I agree, that really doesn't take precedent but I think schools already have a policy in hand.
  15. No way of getting around it, it's still Cougar High. ;D
  16. Referee tells Roc to get D-Hop out of the game or he will T him up again. WOW!! 80-75 now Cards playing scared, playing not to lose. 3:53 left
  17. 5:30 left Lamar 80 NW St. 70
  18. 74-66 lead cut in half 8:00 left Lamar Sanders has only 2 points and 4 fouls
