Neither team can beat Silsbee though.

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico to fish in the Sea of Cortez all day, and back on land by the afternoon to drink margaritas and watch the sun set over the ocean.
Definetly Cabo. You couldn't ask for much better. Great fishing, golf, and beaches. I am ready to go back.

Yes, Jones is a senior. He's commited to Oklahoma St.
-
Ahmad Jones of Silsbee was named first team all state offensive lineman. The '6"3 315 pound Tiger has commited to play for Oklahoma St. Congrats Ahmad.
I would like to mention that I thought B.K. Johnson should have been named at least honorable mention. He had 8 int's and several pass breakups. He was a lockdown corner for Silsbee this year.

and the reality is........... ?

Silsbee is nothing to look over' date=' but they are nothing like last year. WOS prevails....[/quote']
Well, you are right, the Tigers are not like last year, but I say it is still good enough to take this district. Will they, that remains to be seen.
I do know that Silsbee does have wins over teams that defeated WOS: Lumberton, Vidor, and Cathedral.

Missed the bus?? Sounds like that's not all they're missing.
-
I'll pick Robinson in Div 1 and Hondo in Div 2.

Anybody know the times of the Saturday games?
-
Who is this player, Coop? What team?
-
Just wondering who is the tallest player this year. Also, which team has the most height, players '6"4 and taller.
-
Who is this Bellanger?? And what is so important about intercepting a pass to beat a Buna team? When did intercepting a pass compare to rushing for 2400 yards? Double up?? If this kid did that this year, rush for 4800 yards, then he would have been all over the news, local, state, and national.
Congrats on beating Buna, a team that 75% of all area teams would beat anyway.

Also, I saw PAM play a couple of games this past week. If they are the #5 team in 5A, then 5A is very down this year. I was not impressed.

Silsbee seems to be struggling this year (3-4)' date=' any reason for the Tigers woes?[/quote']
Well let's see, there four losses have come against state ranked Kountze and Ozen, and their other losses came in last week's James White tourney to Miburn Academy and 4A Longview. The losses to Kountze and Ozen were probably expected, especially with the Tigers still in the football playoffs at that time. Silsbee only suited up 7 players for those games, 6 were still playing football. The 10 point loss to Longview wasn't too bad a loss, but the Tigers could have played better. The loss to Milburn is the one that stings the most. Silsbee should never lose to that team, they had a bad first quarter in that game. Silsbee lost the game 76-72, but were out scored in the first quarter 24-10, had to battle up hill the rest of the way.
I think the Tigers will be hitting on all cylinders by the time district rolls along.

WOS moving up to #2 makes no sense what so ever. They lost to Lumberton and Vidor this past week, 2 teams that Silsbee beat without there football players, Lumberton in a scrimmage, Vidor in the first game of the year. These polls are a joke.

Silsbee
WOS
HJ
I don't think either of these teams will make a deep run in the playoffs though.

Silsbee has 6 all-district players returning next year!
D. Harris-WR
B. Moss-Center
D. Poulas-LT
B. Watts-ILB
J. James-ILB
M. Fontenot-P/K
According to the KOGT article, Blake Moss is listed as a Senior. But I think you are right, he is a Junior.

By the numbers:
Total all district picks
Silsbee 20
WOS 19
Kirbyville 11
BC 8
Jasper 3
Orangefield 4
HF 6
HJ 4
returning all district picks for next year
WOS 7
Silsbee 5
Kirbyville 5
BC 1
Jasper 0
Orangefield 0
HF 3
HJ 1
Only 2 players made first team offense and defense, MVP Earl Thomas-WOS and Ahmad Jones-Silsbee.
3 players made first team and second team. They are B.K. Johnson-Silsbee 2nd team offense, 1st team defense; Jacoby Franks-WOS 1st team offense, 2nd team defense; and Dominick Rhodes-WOS 2nd team offense, 1st team defense.
Congrats to all of the players chosen.

This Thanksgiving I went all out. I had a Big Mac and a Quarter Pounder with cheese, large fry, large Coke, and an apple pie. Oh, I forget, this is 2006, not 1986. That's what I ate for Thanksgiving in College Station on my way to the Aggie-Tsip game.

I agree, Lamar isn't good at all. This was the fourth time I've seen them this year, season ticket holder, and to put it plain and simple, the Cardinals are looking at a sub .500 season, no better.
-
I read on the downlow that all 4 teams, Silsbee, Columbia, Robinson, and Palestine have agreed to play the next game at Kyle Field. I am going to try and ask a school official to see if this is true. I'll get back with the info later.
If this is true and my Tigers win this Friday, well let's just say that my family will have died and gone to heaven.
-
Silsbee will be on the visitors side.
-
Silsbee 87 Lumberton 79
Congrats Lady Tigers!! Looking mighty strong so far this year. Keep it up.
-
Ok' date=' thanks Aggies. What style offense though? Spread, veer, etc? What'd they give it to Flannel from?[/quote']
They run a multiple set, 2 backs split and I formation, plus some 1 back set also. Got this from both a West Columbia fan and a Bellville fan.
Willie Ray Smith Award

The award is for the best offensive and defensive player. Mosely is hands down the best offensive player but the best defensive player is a little more competetive. Earl Thomas is a great player, but you cannot let his offensive numbers help decide on him being awarded the best defensive player. There are several players that had better defensive stats than Earl had.
