  1. My point about the turf in Woodville is that it does not have the black rubber pellets as a filler. That turf actually has wood chips/sawdust as it's filler. They actually have to water their turf so that it doesn't dry out and become a dust bowl. First time I stepped foot on that field a few years ago, I was like "what is this stuff?" One of their coaches told me it was wood chips and they actually had to water it regularly. The wood chip filler helps keep the field cooler than the rubber pellets.
  2. If you get the kind that Woodville has, yes, it has to be maintained.
  3. It's not just injuries with turf. There are more staph infections with turf fields than there are with grass fields.
  4. I got HF winning, just not by 3 TD's. I'll go Horns, 35-27.

  6. New Caney is not that far a drive. I can see letting out at 2pm but not 12. Is it due to the district not having enough buses?
  7. That was Dallas Lincoln we lost to in state finals. HOUSTON Wheatley is in the district with Yates, Washington and Furr.
  8. If Silsbee goes DII, they would face Wheatley in Regional Finals. As for redemption, it would be Wheatley seeking that since they lost to Silsbee in Regional Semifinals last year.
  9. Bridge City will have real good shot at making playoffs. Not sold on Jasper.
  10. As long as two of these teams make playoffs (Bridge City, LC-M, Lumberton, Vidor) then Silsbee will go Div. II
  11. If Yates, Washington, Furr make playoffs with Wheatley, then Wheatley would go Div. II. In fact, Wheatley is guaranteed to go Div. II. They have the smallest enrollment in their district.
  12. Not when it comes to the rankings. Divisions are split after district play. There is a chance that Silsbee could go Division I. If Jasper and WO-S make playoffs with Silsbee, then Silsbee would go Div. I.
  13. I heard a very very important player down with injury.
  14. I was just answering the question you posed.
  15. Even though there will be 2-3 more games after this week for these two teams, a playoff spot and seeding rides heavily on the outcome of this one. Current standings have Deweyville and Sabine Pass at 3-0. Evadale, West Hardin and West Sabine are all 1-1. A Sabine Pass win Friday night will clinch a playoff spot for the Sharks. They would finish no worse than the 3rd seed. A West Hardin win gives them the inside shot for a playoff spot. A win by 8 points or more could land them a #3 seed. Sabine Pass has two games remaining (home vs. Deweyville and at West Sabine). West Hardin has 3 games remaining after Friday (at Deweyville, home vs. West Sabine, at Colmesneil) Big game for both of these teams this Friday, I will be there for sure.
